Lithuanian language vowel modelling is considered in the paper. A vowel is modelled by a sum of formants where a formant is expressed by a quasipolynomial function of the second order (a combination of a damped sinusoid and polynomial). A formant is generated as the response of a lineardynamicsystem with multiple poles to the unit impulses sequence. In order to get more natural sounding, each formant is excited separately using input impulses amplitude modulation. Modulation scenarios are chosen according to the real sound formant amplitude dynamics. An example of a vowel generated is compared with real sounds using audio testing.
