The IEEE802.11ac task group has started to establish a next-generation WLAN standard. The wider channel of more than 80 MHz achieving over a 1-Gbps data rate is discussed. We have developed an experimental platform consisting of baseband and RF units in a 2x2 MIMO-OFDM system for the wider channel and evaluated its system performance in a field experiment. A MIMO-OFDM transceiver in the baseband unit is designed to realize real-time MIMO detection and provide a maximum data rate of 600 Mbps. In the field experiment, we evaluated outdoor propagation characteristics at farm and between buildings for outdoor usage in WLAN systems.

This paper presents an iterative learning control for a class of multiple-input multiple-output（MIMO）nonlinear parameterized system with input saturation *** dynamic function of the nonlinear system considered in this paper is described by an nonlinearly parameterized functions with input saturation *** considering the property of the saturation function in the MIMO nonlinear system,we design the P-type iterative learning controller with a feedback term and partially-saturated term and a fully-saturated parameter updating *** constructing a composite energy function（CEF）,we prove the convergence property of the tracking *** last,we give an numerical simulation which show that the control scheme proposed in this paper is effective and correct.

For uncertain multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) nonlinear system, a robust adaptive fuzzy output feedback control scheme is proposed. The augmented system structure includes uncertain disturbance resulting from exosystem while the unmeasurable errors of the augmented system are obtained by passing the observation error vector to a set of state variable filters. With a switching gain adaptation method to alleviate chatters, a robustifying term compensates for fuzzy approximation errors and external disturbances. Overall stability analysis for the closed-loop system concludes that the robust adaptive fuzzy output feedback controller with the composite adaptive update laws and the switching gain adaptation achieves asymptotic convergence to a desired trajectory in presence of uncertainties and external disturbances.

Layered Steered Space-Time Codes (LSSTC) is a recently proposed multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system that combines the benefits of vertical Bell Labs space-time (VBLAST) scheme, space-time block codes (STBC) and beamforming. We suggest a new downlink scheme employing LSSTC with optimal power allocation, by assuming that the user feeds the BS with the average SNR per VBLAST layer through the uplink feedback channel. The motivation behind proposing such a system is to enhance the error performance by assigning power to the layers in an optimum manner. We refer to the system proposed as the optimum power allocation LSSTC (OPA-LSSTC). We will show that the OPA-LSSTC can provide about a 3 dB gain compared to the equal power allocation case.

In this paper the performance of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system in the UTRAN Long Term Evolution (LTE) standard is evaluated by means of ergodic system capacity in low (3 km/h), medium (30 km/h) and high (120 km/h) mobility scenarios. The impact of adaptive modulation as well as Hybrid ARQ (HARQ) with Chase Combining to the distribution of effective SINR is established analytically and validated by simulations. A model for ergodic system capacity employing adaptive modulation and HARQ is developed. The simulation results show that adaptive modulation combined with HARQ increases the MIMO system performance significantly especially in low mobility case, and smaller reduction of rate is experienced in high mobility scenarios.

Hybrid beamforming in transmitter and receiver can improve the spectral efficiency of millimeterwave (mmWave) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication system significantly, and can reduce the complexity of communication system. However, when the number of transmitted data streams is large, the existing designing schemes of hybrid beamforming, such as sparse approximation by orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) algorithm, suffer from performance degradation. In this paper, we propose dictionary learning (DL) algorithm to perform the design of hybrid beamforming for mmWave MIMO system. Simulation result shows that the spectral efficiency of hybrid beamforming based on DL approaches that of optimal beamforming without constraint, which is far superior to the spectral efficiency of hybrid beamforming based on OMP. Moreover, the convergence property of the proposed algorithm is also verified.

Optimal performance in 5G and beyond MIMO-OFDM systems is achieved by channel estimation, which is crucial due to the enormous hurdles posed by dynamic and frequency-selective channel circumstances. Advanced methods of neural networks and optimization are gradually being applied in order to solve these difficulties. The heterogeneous nature of 5G-and-beyond networks introduces severe multipath fading, high mobility, and interference, complicating accurate Channel State Information (CSI) estimation. Existing techniques are sometimes difficult to compute efficiently while at the same time providing a precise estimation of interference in such scenarios. This research develops an Optimized Neuro-Adaptive Twin Pulse-Coupled Estimators for Efficient Channel Estimation in Heterogeneous 5G-and-Beyond MIMO-OFDM Communication systems (STEB-Twin-APCNet) to improve the channel estimation by integrating Twin Adaptive Pulse Coupled Network with Sooty Tern Evolutionary Boost optimization. The objective of this study is to design and optimize a neuro-adaptive channel estimator capable of real-time CSI acquisition with high accuracy and minimal complexity in diverse 5G environments. To test the model in different channel scenarios, MATLAB simulations were run with the help of deep learning and 5G toolboxes. The results show that the suggested STEB-Twin-APCNet outperforms the standard approaches with a channel estimate accuracy of over 99.8%, dependability of 99.5% in high-mobility situations, and a decrease of 99.3% in estimation error. These measures demonstrate how efficient and resilient the system is. As a result, channel prediction for next-gen wireless networks is made easier using this adaptive framework.

Developing a neural prosthesis for the damaged hippocampus requires restoring the transformation of population neural activities performed by the hippocampal circuitry. To bypass a damaged region, output spike trains need to be predicted from the input spike trains and then reinstated through stimulation We formulate a multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) nonlinear dynamic model for the input-output transformation of spike trains. In this approach, a MIMO model comprises a series of physiologically-plausible multiple-input, single-output (MISO) neuron models that consist of five components each: (1) feedforward Volterra kernels transforming the input spike trains into the synaptic potential,(2) a feedback kernel transforming the output spikes into the spike-triggered after-potential, (3) a noise term capturing the system uncertainty, (4) an adder generating the pre-threshold potential, and (5) a threshold function generating output spikes. It is shown that this model is equivalent to a generalized linear model with a probit link function. To reduce model complexity and avoid overfitting, statistical model selection and cross-validation methods are employed to choose the significant inputs and interactions between inputs. The model is applied successfully to the hippocampal CA3-CA1 population dynamics Such a model can serve as a Computational basis for the development of hippocampal prostheses. (C) 2009 Elsevier Ltd. Performance analysis of orthogonal space-time block codes over Nakagami-q MIMO RFID backscattering channels

The authors employ the conditional moment generating function approach to analyse the performance of orthogonal space-time block codes over Nakagami-q (Hoyt) multiple-input multiple-output radio frequency identification backscattering channels. New exact and asymptotic symbol error rate expressions are derived for the case of two and four receiving antennas . The exact expressions are in the form of a sum of infinite series while the asymptotic ones are in the closed form. The diversity order that the system can achieve is found to be L, where L is the number of tag antennas, and the performance of this system is found to be more sensitive to the channel condition (the q parameter) of the forward link than that of the backscattering link. The theoretical results (exact and asymptotic) are verified through comparison with simulation results.

MIMO throughput optimisation via quantised rate control

The problem of throughput maximisation in a wireless multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system using a quantised feedback, which is an appropriate model for practical systems with limited feedback capacity, is considered. Unlike the ergodic capacity that can be achieved through power control only, maximising the throughput in the block fading channels is based on appropriate rate control strategy. The optimal quantised rate control design for general MIMO systems is formulated and a gradient descent search algorithm to find the optimal solution is employed. It is seen that the proposed quantised rate control scheme with only a few bits of feedback considerably improves the throughput of a MIMO system. With the same amount of feedback overhead, the proposed quantised rate control with constant power is compared with the optimal quantised power control strategy with an optimised constant rate, and the result demonstrates the importance of rate control in throughput maximisation. The effect of quantised rate control in MIMO systems employing different automatic repeat request schemes is also investigated.
