Mine MIMO Depth Receiver: An Intelligent Receiving Model Based on Densely Connected Convolutional Networks

multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems suffer from high BER in the mining environment. In this paper, the mine MIMO depth receiver model is proposed. The model uses densely connected convolutional networks for feature extraction and constructs multiple binary classifiers to recover the original information. Compared with conventional MIMO receivers, the model has no error accumulation caused by processes such as decoding and demodulation. The experimental results show that the model has better performance than conventional decoding methods under different modulation codes and variations in the number of transmitting terminals. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the model can still achieve effective decoding and recover the original information with some data loss at the receiver.

Low complexity FBMC for wireless MIMO systems

Filter Bank Multicarrier (FBMC) has become popular as an alternative to OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division multiplexing). However, current FBMC systems found in the literature are not as compatible with MIMO (multiple input and multiple output) as OFDM is. This is due to the presence of inherent self-interference in current FBMC structures. Current literature uses maximal spectrally efficient waveforms, which have high interference among sub-carriers, thereby requiring complex post-processing in MIMO systems. In this work, we relax the spectral efficiency and show quantitatively that both the interference and out of band ripple energy can be decreased. We analyze this interference and its effects on different modulations at various SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) values. We observe that the interference effect is more dominant at high SNR and affects higher order modulations more significantly. Reducing the interference enables near-orthogonal FBMC designs for practical SNR values and higher order modulations while still retaining MIMO receiver structures with low design complexity. We also show that error correcting codes can mitigate the effects of this interference. In this paper, first we compare our proposed FBMC system with OFDM and then with Filtered OFDM, one of the leading waveform candidates for 5G. Our simulations reveal that there is less than 1 dB gap between OFDM and FBMC having 84% and 97% spectral efficiencies respectively, using a 4 x 4 MIMO-VBLAST for 64-QAM at 30 dB SNR. Also, a comparison with Filtered OFDM system reveals that the proposed FBMC system is computationally more efficient for 5G systems. (C) 2021 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Wireless communication is nowadays one of the areas attracting a lot of research activity due to the strongly increasing demand in high-data rate transmission systems. The use of multiple antennas at both the transmitter and receiver side has stimulated one of the most important technical breakthroughs in recent communications allowing increasing the capacity and dropping the bit-error rate. However, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems are not limited to wireless MIMO systems and can be observed in a huge variety of transmission links and network parts and have attracted a lot of attention since the mid 90's. In the field of optical MIMO transmission systems, multi-mode (MM) fibre offers the possibility to transmit different signals by different mode groups. The perspective of the MIMO philosophy within the field of optical transmission systems is elaborated in this contribution based on channel measurements within a (2 x 2) MIMO system. For the channel measurements the second optical window and a fibre length of 1,4 km was chosen. Computer simulations on an overall data rate of 10,24 Gbps underline the potential of multi-mode fibres in optical high-data rate MIMO communication systems and show that in order to achieve the best bit-error rate, not necessarily all MIMO layers have to be activated.

Channel frequency and spatial correlation are essential for adaptive channel prediction, which enables flexible scheduling. This correlation information is determined by the environment and can be learned and stored in a map to avoid online tracking. In this paper we propose a method to generate a channel frequency-spatial correlation map from the measurement campaign. Only two position-dependent parameters are stored in the map and the spatial atuocorrelations of the parameters are examined to interpolate channel correlation for the unmeasured positions. Adaptive unbiased prediction of channel gain based on the correlation map is used to compensate the outdated channel state information. The performance of flexible modulation and coding schemes using the distribution of predicted channel gain is shown through numerical simulation.

The diversity gain of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system adopting the Neyman-Pearson (NP) criterion is derived for a signal-present versus signal-absent scalar hypothesis test statistic and for a vector signal-present versus signal-absent hypothesis testing problem. The results are applied to a MIMO radar system with M transmit and N receive antennas, used to detect a target composed of Q random scatterers with possibly non-Gaussian reflection coefficients in the presence of possibly non-Gaussian clutter-plus-noise. It is found that the diversity gain for the MIMO radar system is dependent on the cumulative distribution function (cdf) of the reflection coefficients while invariant to the cdf of the clutter-plus-noise under some reasonable conditions. If the noise-free received waveforms at each receiver span a space of dimension M' <= M, the largest possible diversity gain is controlled by min (NM', Q) and the cdf of the magnitude square of a linear transformed version of the reflection coefficient vector. It is shown that properly chosen nonorthogonal waveforms can achieve the same diversity gain as orthogonal waveforms.

In order to comply with the demand on increasing available data rates in particular in wireless technologies, systems with multiple transmit and receive antennas, also called MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) systems, have become indispensable for future generations of wireless systems. Due to the strongly increasing demand in high-data rate transmission systems, frequency non-selective MIMO links have reached a state of maturity and frequency selective MIMO links are in the focus of interest. In this field, the combination of MIMO transmission and OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) can be considered as an essential part of fulfilling the requirements of future generations of wireless systems. However, single-user scenarios have reached a state of maturity. By contrast multiple users' scenarios require substantial further research, where in comparison to ZF (zero-forcing) multiuser transmission techniques, the individual user's channel characteristics are taken into consideration in this contribution. The performed joint optimization of the number of activated MIMO layers and the number of transmitted bits per subcarrier along with the appropriate allocation of the transmit power shows that not necessarily all user-specific MIMO layers per subcarrier have to be activated in order to minimize the overall BER under the constraint of a given fixed data throughput.

Singular-value decomposition (SVD)-based multiple-input multiple output (MIMO) systems, where the whole MIMO channel is decomposed into a number of unequally weighted single-input single-output (SISO) channels, have attracted a lot of attention in the wireless community. The unequal weighting of the SISO channels has led to intensive research on bit- and power allocation even in MIMO channel situation with poor scattering conditions identified as the antennas correlation effect. In this situation, the unequal weighting of the SISO channels becomes even much stronger. In comparison to the SVD-assisted MIMO transmission, geometric mean decomposition (GMD)-based MIMO systems are able to compensate the drawback of weighted SISO channels when using SVD, where the decomposition result is nearly independent of the antennas correlation effect. The remaining interferences after the GMD-based signal processing can be easily removed by using dirty paper precoding as demonstrated in this work. Our results show that GMD-based MIMO transmission has the potential to significantly simplify the bit and power loading processes and outperforms the SVD-based MIMO transmission as long as the same QAM-constellation size is used on all equally-weighted SISO channels.

In this contribution a signal theoretic multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system model for estimating modal and chromatic dispersion is developed. Based on channel measurements within a 1,4 km MIMO multimode channel parameters for modal and chromatic dispersion are estimated. Furthermore, taking given parameters of the dispersion into account, the introduced signal theoretic MIMO system model enables a reconstruction of the MIMO specific impulse responses.

We propose a pipeline structure for Schnorr-Euchner sphere decoding algorithm in this article. It divides the search tree of the original algorithm into blocks and executes the search from block to block. When one block search of a signal is over, the part in the pipeline structure that processes this block search can load another signal and search. Several signals can be processed at the same time in one pipeline. Blocks are arranged to lower the whole complexity in the way that the previously search blocks are the blocks those have more probability to generate the final solution. Simulation experiment results show the average process delay can drop to the range from 48.77% to 60.18% in a 4-by-4 antenna system with 16QAM modulation, or from 30.31% to 61.59% in a 4-by-4 antenna system with 64QAM modulation.

This paper presents an iterative learning control strategy for a class of multiple-input multiple-output（MIMO） nonlinearly parameterized systems with unknown time-varying state delays and actuator faults. To deal with the non-linearity caused by the unknown time-varying state delays and actuator faults in the MIMO nonlinear system, the P-type iterative learning controller with a fully-saturated parameter updating law is proposed. By constructing a composite energy function（CEF）, the convergence analysis of the tracking error is given. Finally, a numerical simulation is used to verify the effectiveness and correctness of the control scheme proposed in this paper.
