This paper reports an experimental demonstration of a 16 Gbit/s millimeter-wave communication link using MIMO processing of 2 OAM modes on each of two transmitter/receiver antenna apertures. Two groups of multiplexed OAM beams, each containing OAM beams of l = 1 and + 3 are generated and transmitted through two transmitter apertures respectively. The two transmitter apertures are separated with a certain distance such that the two groups of OAM beams are spatially overlapping at the receiver aperture plane. Each channel carries 1-GBaud 16-QAM signals at the same carrier frequency of 28GHz. Our experimental results show that MIMO equalization processing can help mitigate the interferences from the other OAM channels and the BER performance of each channel improves significantly after MIMO processing. Our results indicate that OAM multiplexing and traditional spatial multiplexing combined with MIMO processing can be compatible and complementary with each other.

In this paper, a robust joint carrier frequency offset (CFO) and fast time-varying channel tracking algorithm for MIMO-OFDM systems is proposed. The proposed method is robust to noise statistics and noise distribution uncertainties. The extended H filter (EHF) is employed for the joint tracking process as it does not require any knowledge of noise statistics or noise distribution, unlike the conventional extended Kalman filter (EKF). To reduce computational complexity, the tracking of fast time-varying channel gains is facilitated by the basis expansion model (BEM). Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed algorithm without knowledge of noise statistics matches the performance of the existing algorithm under Gaussian noise and is better than that of the existing algorithm under non-Gaussian noise.

In this paper, we investigate the performance of space-time block-coded multiple-input-multiple-output (STBC-MIMO) LoRa system over Nakagami-m and Ricean fading channels with perfect and imperfect channel state information (CSI). Specifically, we derive the closed-form bit-error-rate expressions and analyze the diversity order of the STBC-MIMO LoRa system with perfect and imperfect CSI, where two common channel estimation error models are considered. Moreover, we perform simulations to evaluate the coverage performance of the system and to verify the accuracy of the theoretical analyses.

This paper introduces, for the first time, the theory and application of natural and artificial dielectric layers (ADL) for mutual coupling reduction between massive MIMO antennas. By introducing an extra route with controllable reflection phase and magnitude, the ADL is able to cancel out major couplings in a massive MIMO array. The basic working mechanism is explained in the paper together with preliminary results to demonstrate the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method.

A simple decoupling approach is utilised, in which a dielectric wall is incorporated to suppress the mutual coupling between two multi-band rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (RDRA). As per the simulated results, the inserted dielectric wall provided an improvement in the isolation by circa5-22 dB in the frequency band of interest. This is achieved in conjunction high radiation efficiency and enhanced gain, which make the proposed antenna suitable for the millimeter-wave frequency band (5G also includes the 6GHz band).

This paper explores the performance analysis in terms of bit error rate (BER) for different modulations. This estimation is done with the help of various size of control region in advanced cellular communication system. Entire comparative analysis of this paper is elucidated on the basis of different mobility based scenario for downlink (DL) transmission. The simulation is performed using supportive bandwidth of 10 MHz for 2x2 and 4x4 multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) configurations. From output results analysis, it is shown that lower mobility environment and lower order modulation has less error to deliver better quality of signal.

In this paper, an extremely compact CSRR loaded triple-band quad-element MIMO antenna is proposed. The single element of the proposed MIMO antenna consists of an asymmetric T-shaped monopole antenna printed on the partial ground plane, fed through a 50 Omega microstrip line having dual quarter wavelength inverted L-shaped slits. The orthogonal symmetric placement of the single antenna forms an extremely compact quad-element MIMO antenna. A CSRR is loaded on its ground plane at the center of the antenna for reducing the coupling. The proposed MIMO antenna covers -10 dB impedance bandwidth of 2.40-2.48 GHz, 3.47-3.57 GHz, and 4.82-7.53 GHz with a minimum isolation value of 16.5 dB in the covered triple-band.

In this paper, we have exploited the key technologies of the next generation communication systems which are cognitive radio (CR), non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) and have proposed a framework of simultaneous use of these technologies for the spectral efficient design, named as MIMO based CR-NOMA communication systems. The proposed communication system is defined for the specific case that is MIMO with 2 x 2 antennas and NOMA serving two users. Moreover, the data rate at each antenna of users in derived numerically and further, the sum-data rate for the cognitive users (CUs) is computed. The relationship between sum-data rates of two NOMA users with two antennas each, is described with simulation results.

Orbit angular momentum (OAM) based radio vortex wireless communication with the characteristic of orthogonal mode division multiplexing (MDM) enables higher spectrum efficiency (SE) than conventional multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) communications. However, MDM techniques are only suitable for line-of-sight (LOS) environments and suffer from a strict limitation in applications due to the physical property of divergence of the vortex beams. The flexibility of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) can rapidly establish LOS communication links, and the corresponding air-to-ground (A2G) channels furthest utilize the spatial distributing characteristics of the energy of vortex beams. For the A2G channel, we proposed the joint beam selection and water-filling power allocation (JBS-WPA) schemes to improve the SE of the A2G wireless communication system. Numerical results indicate that the proposed system with JBS-WPA algorithm can obtain a higher SE than conventional MDM-MIMO systems. Therefore, OAM techniques can offer a brand new solution for future air-to-ground (A2G) networks.

In this paper, we consider a multi-input-multi-output cognitive radio (MIMO-CR) system which consists of one secondary user (SU) and one secondary destination (SD), in which one eavesdropper (E) attempts to tap the information from SU to SD. All of the aforementioned nodes are equipped with multiple antennas. For enhancing physical layer security, we propose socalled optimal antenna selection (OAS) and suboptimal antenna selection (SAS) schemes, which assume that the instantaneous wiretap channel information is known and unknown, respectively. We carry out the secrecy outage probability analysis for the proposed OAS and SAS schemes. In order to make a performance comparison, we also discuss the secrecy outage probability of single-input-single-output cognitive radio(SISO-CR) system. The secrecy outage performance of SAS is better than SISO but worse than OAS. Furthermore, as the numbers of antennas of SU and SD increase, the secrecy outage probability of OAS and SAS both have significant improvements.
