With the development of Internet technology and Cloud Computing, more and more applications have to be confronted with the challenges of big data. nosql database is fit to the management of big data because of the characteristics of high scalability, high availability, and high fault-tolerance. The data partitioning strategy plays an important role in the nosql database. The existing data partitioning strategies will cause some problems such as low scalability, hot spot, and low performance and so on. In this paper we proposed a new data partitioning strategy-HRCH, which can partitioning the data in a reasonable way. At last we use some experiments to verify the effectiveness of HRCH. It shows that HRCH can improve the system's scalability, avoid the hot spot problem as far as possible. At the same time it also can improve the parallel degree of processing, which can improve the system's performance in some processing.

The amount of data on the Web and the number of users accessing those data drastically grows every year. Web-based services have to be able to receive and process those requirements within the shortest possible time. Additionally, they have to manage sudden and unpredictable peaks of user requirements for accessing the data. To tackle these problems, nosql databases have been designed to provide scalability and good performance. However, it is important to know in advance the number of resources (i.e. computers, network capacity) to efficiently deploy a database application. In this work, we propose a simulator for a nosql database named MongoDB. Our simulator aims to detect saturation levels of the resources to ensure an efficient execution of MongoDB upon different users demands and upon failures of resources.

Data - structured, semi-structured and unstructured is growing at an exponential rate. Most organizations are dependent on this huge volume of data to make real time decisions. To provide accurate information to these decision making models, it is crucial that the data is of superior quality. Since most organizations are migrating from relational to nosql databases, it is vital to validate data after the migration process. Considering the different structures of the two databases, the process of validation is a formidable task. This paper talks about an approach to validate data between cross platform databases using denormalized schema structures and bloom filters. Based on our experimental results, we have been able to validate huge datasets and pinpoint the exact corrupted records in constant space and linear time complexity up to a desired error probability.

With the high increase of data growing, nosql databases play a key role in storing large amount of data, to gain flexibility and scalability many industries are now replacing their relational and object relational databases by adopting nosql database technology for business application. However, a lot of work have been done to transform the schema and migrate the data from relational database to MongoDB, but as far as we know a few approaches has been proposed to cover the object relational database transformation. This paper describes some approaches of migration, and proposes an approach of model transformation from object relational database to nosql document database (MongoDB).

Purpose - The paper aims to focus on so-called nosql databases in the context of cloud computing. Design/methodology/approach - Architectures and basic features of these databases are studied, particularly their horizontal scalability and concurrency model, that is mostly weaker than ACID transactions in relational SQL-like database systems. Findings - Some characteristics like a data model and querying capabilities of nosql databases are discussed in more detail. Originality/value - The paper shows vary different data models and query possibilities in a common terminology enabling comparison and categorization of nosql databases.

Background: The objective of this research is to compare the relational and non-relational (nosql) database systems approaches in order to store, recover, query and persist standardized medical information in the form of ISO/EN 13606 normalized Electronic Health Record XML extracts, both in isolation and concurrently. nosql database systems have recently attracted much attention, but few studies in the literature address their direct comparison with relational databases when applied to build the persistence layer of a standardized medical information system. Methods: One relational and two nosql databases (one document-based and one native XML database) of three different sizes have been created in order to evaluate and compare the response times (algorithmic complexity) of six different complexity growing queries, which have been performed on them. Similar appropriate results available in the literature have also been considered. Results: Relational and non-relational nosql database systems show almost linear algorithmic complexity query execution. However, they show very different linear slopes, the former being much steeper than the two latter. Document-based nosql databases perform better in concurrency than in isolation, and also better than relational databases in concurrency. Conclusion: Non-relational nosql databases seem to be more appropriate than standard relational SQL databases when database size is extremely high (secondary use, research applications). Document-based nosql databases perform in general better than native XML nosql databases. EHR extracts visualization and edition are also document-based tasks more appropriate to nosql database systems. However, the appropriate database solution much depends on each particular situation and specific problem.

With the increasing maturity of nosql databases as well as the situation of reading more than writing on large volumes of data, many applications turn to nosql and pick it as data storage system. Migrating from SQL database to nosql and providing efficient query become growing imperative. However, join operation is not supported in nosql database and read separately for multiple times which brings poor performance is unavoidable. This paper proposes a schema conversion model for transforming SQL database to nosql which can provide high performance of join query with nesting relevant tables, and a graph transforming algorithm for containing all required content of join query in a table by offering correctly nested sequence. A rigorous proof about the transform algorithm has been conducted and the experiment has verified the correctness of the conversion model and the high performance of join operation.

As the healthcare industry adopts the use of cloud to store personal health record (PHR), there is a need to ensure that we maintain the ability to perform efficient search on encrypted data (stored in the cloud). In this paper, we propose a secure searchable encryption scheme, which is designed to search on encrypted personal health records from a nosql database in semi-trusted cloud servers. The proposed scheme supports almost all query operations available in plaintext database environments, especially multi-dimensional, multi-keyword searches with range query. Specifically, in the proposed scheme, an Adelson-Velsky Landis (AVL) tree is utilized to construct the index, and an order-revealing encryption (ORE) algorithm is used to encrypt the AVL tree and realize range query. As document-based databases are probably the most popular nosql database, due to their flexibility, high efficiency, and ease of use, MongoDB, a document-based nosql database, is chosen to store the encrypted PHR data in our scheme. Experimental results show that the scheme can achieve secure and practical searchable encryption for PHRs. A comparison of the range query demonstrates that the time overhead of our ORE-based scheme is 25.5% shorter than that of the mOPE-based Arx (an encrypted database system) scheme.

During the past decade, several Web companies have developed what I would call 'Web data stores' to support the performance, scalability and availability requirements of their interactive Web services. Google's Bigtable and Amazon's Dynamo in particular have energised a community of developers to develop similar systems as open source. These systems have come to be known as 'nosql database' systems. In this paper, I will examine these systems from the data model and data management perspective which has not been given enough attention. This is to shed further light on understanding the nature of these systems and their future directions.

Non-Relational database Management Systems (nosql) arise as an alternative solution to problems not efficiently solved by traditional database Management Systems (DBMS). nosql, unlike the relational model, does not respond to a Data Base type, but represents a set of database types, with different implementations and characteristics to represent the information. This work represents the continuation of previous studies and aims to compare and analyse 4 local nosql database engines, 2 nosql database as a Service engines in the cloud and a Relational database engine, using different schemas and under large data volume.
