The IoT-based weather monitoring system using nodemcu esp8266 represents a pioneering approach to weather data acquisition, analysis, and dissemination. Confronting the limitations of conventional weather monitoring systems such as high costs and restricted real-time data accessibility, this project leverages nodemcu esp8266 technology to offer an economical and efficient solution. The system integrates a network of sensors to capture crucial weather parameters like temperature, humidity, and light intensity. Through the nodemcu esp8266 micro-controller and Wi-Fi module, the collected data is processed and transmitted to a central server. A user-friendly interface empowers users to access real-time weather conditions, and forecasts, all presented through intuitive graphical representations. This report comprehensively details the system's architecture, hardware, software components, implementation steps, results, challenges, and future possibilities. This paper presents the implementation of a distributed consensus algorithm for wireless sensor network (WSN) on a hardware platform of nodemcu esp8266. This study uses the minimum consensus algorithm as a tool for distributed estimation problems in WSN. We have design, developed and tested the prototype nodes. Algorithms are written using C++ language compiler with the Arduino IDE. We did some adjustment to the original algorithm in order to be implemented on hardware that we use and do a test run. Based on the measurement results, the algorithm implemented on the nodes achieved the convergence as predicted by simulation. By implementing algorithms on hardware, we seek to add insight and knowledge of the algorithms used in WSN, real implementation of the algorithm on the hardware and the specifications of the hardware.

The management and care of premature infants in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) demand precise and frequent monitoring of various health parameters, including body weight. Traditional methods of weighing premature infants often involve the removal and reinsertion of medical tubes, a process that can cause discomfort and potential health risks to these vulnerable patients. This abstract introduces an innovative weight monitoring system designed to provide real-time, accurate measurements of a premature infant's weight in milligrams without the need to disturb the infant or remove medical tubing. Utilizing the nodemcu esp8266 microcontroller and a sensitive load cell, the system offers a non-intrusive, continuous weight monitoring solution. The design addresses the critical need for minimizing physical handling of premature infants while ensuring accurate weight tracking, a key indicator of health and development. The system's capability to transmit real-time data to medical professionals' aid in timely decision-making and enhances the overall care process. The design and implementation of the system, including the integration of the nodemcu esp8266 platform with the load cell for high-precision measurements, are detailed. Furthermore, the calibration process, data accuracy, and the system's potential to reduce the workload of medical staff and improve the standard of care in NICUs are discussed. Preliminary results and implications for future research and clinical application are also presented, highlighting the system's role in advancing neonatal care technology.

The systematic process of detecting, gathering, and disposing of all waste in a specific manner so as not to jeopardize human or environmental life is known as waste management. If not correctly managed, medical waste, which includes items like old needles, sharps, and infectious materials, poses a serious risk to the environment and the general public's health, especially in developing and underdeveloped countries. In this study, we used IoT and machine learning technologies to automate waste identification, information tracking, and monitoring, improve the accuracy and efficiency of waste bins, and enable real-time monitoring and analysis of waste information. By utilizing smart waste bins fitted with sensors and machine learning algorithms to automatically detect and classify various forms of waste, IoT and machine learning are being applied to the management of medical waste. These intelligent bins can then notify waste management staff when they need to be emptied and can offer useful information on waste streams for analysis and practice improvement. Only persons who have been authenticated will be permitted to collect medical waste, and the system will keep a record of all data. Using IoT and machine learning technologies, we attempted to reduce the danger of unintentional exposure to hazardous materials, which enhanced overall public health and safety in addition to increasing the effectiveness of medical waste management. Overall, compared to current manual medical waste management systems, the convergence of IoT and machine learning has the potential to significantly increase the sustainability and efficiency of medical waste management, reducing the environmental impact of healthcare operations and enhancing public health.

Climate change escalates the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events worldwide, threatening the environment, health, economy, and security. This paper proposes an Internet of Things (IoT)-based system to address these challenges in Bangladesh, a vulnerable developing country. The system comprises three towers equipped with nodemcu esp8266 microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators strategically placed in city areas, a forest, and a remote location. These towers are connected to a central Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller, storing data in a Firebase database. Their functions include monitoring temperature, humidity, and soil moisture, detecting and extinguishing fires, sensing rain and earthquakes, and alerting motion. The system aims to provide a low-cost, reliable, and autonomous solution to mitigate risks from extreme weather events, enhancing safety for people and plants. Performance and accuracy evaluation uses various metrics, comparing results with existing solutions. The paper discusses system limitations and proposes future directions for improvement, emphasizing the urgency of innovative and adaptive solutions in the face of climate change impacts.

Greenhouse agriculture has emerged as a critical component in addressing global food security challenges, experiencing rapid growth and technological integration in recent years. This paper presents GreenSight, an IoT-based automated greenhouse monitoring system designed to optimize plant growth conditions while enhancing operational efficiency. Leveraging advanced technologies such as the nodemcu esp8266 microcontroller and DHT22 sensor, GreenSight facilitates real-time environmental monitoring and control within the greenhouse environment. The system incorporates actuators including SG90 servo motors, 9V DC motors, and mist atomizers to regulate atmospheric conditions tailored to diverse plant species' requirements. Additionally, a user-friendly Android application enables remote access and configuration. Ten (10) experts specializing in information technology and computer engineering assessed the prototype using ISO 9126 evaluation criteria. The Likert Scale was employed for interpretation. According to the evaluation, the project attained an overall mean of 3.32, indicating that it satisfies requirements concerning functionality, reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability, and portability.

The poultry industry constitutes a significant portion of the Philippine economy. In an increasingly technological society, the poultry industry also needs to adapt and maximize the recent technology to further enhance the efficiency of the poultry feeding system. The aim of this research is to develop a monitoring system employing sensors, nodemcu esp8266, and Arduino Cloud to remotely track the water levels and feed weight of poultry. The developers employed the Agile Methodology for the development of the project. Ten (10) experts in the field of information technology and computer engineering evaluated the prototype using ISO 9126 evaluation criteria. The Likert Scale was used to interpret the results. Based on the evaluation, the project received an overall mean of 3.06, indicating that it meets the requirements in terms of functionality, reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability, and portability.

This research presents the development of a Prototype Cost-Effective Energy Meter, which employs carefully selected components such as nodemcu esp8266, esp32, an I2C interfaced LCD Display, ZMPT101B Voltage Sensor, and SCT-013 Current Sensor. These components were chosen based on criteria including compatibility, accessibility, and suitability for the project's objectives. The energy meter measures both voltage and current, offering precise data for electrical systems. Data transmission is achieved through integration with the Thingspeak platform, enabling remote monitoring. A control system, integrated with Sinric Pro and Thingspeak API, manages room electricity, providing real-Time information, control capabilities, historical analysis tools, and insights into energy consumption. This comprehensive system offers a practical solution for energy management. © 2024 IEEE.

Alzheimer's Disease is a degenerative neurological disease that progresses slowly and gradually. Currently incurable, and those who suffer from it deprive themselves, compared to ordinary people, of the freedom to move outside their homes. This paper aims to design and build an Internet of things prototype to locate an Alzheimer's patient in real time in order to improve his quality of life and facilitate the task of their caregivers. The prototype is a lightweight dorsal belt carried by the patient and equipped with a nodemcu esp8266 board, a GPS module, and a small portable WiFi modem/router. The location of the patient is from an Android/iOS mobile application, and also from a web application. This work also allows to trace the path of the patient and to estimate his position at any time by using the Kalman Filter especially when the patient moves outside. Many tests are discussed to demonstrate the performance and the effectiveness of the proposed prototype.
