This manuscript is concerned with oscillation of numerical solutions for neutral delay differential equation with real coefficients. Applying the linear theta$$ \theta $$-methods, the difference equation is obtained. By investigating the roots of characteristic equation, the conditions of oscillation for numerical solutions are obtained. And the conditions under which the numerical methods preserve the oscillation are considered. Several numerical examples are given to confirm the corresponding conclusions.

Multidimensional high-cyclic loading in experiment and in finite element model The behaviour of granular soils under multidimensional cyclic loading is of great importance for many engineering applications or design issues. For example, wind and wave loads from different directions of incidence and with temporal offset can affect the behavior of geotechnical structures of offshore wind energy turbines (OWT), from which a multidimensional cyclic stress results. It is known that a multidimensional cyclic load leads to a greater accumulation of deformation in the soil than a one-dimensional load of the same amplitude. If the accumulated deformations become too large, this can leads to an unforeseen loss of serviceability. The numerical simulation of the multidimensional problem and the prediction of the expected deformations is therefore in such cases essential. Subject of this contribution is the investigation of the soil behaviour under multidimensional cyclic loading. Within the conduction of more than 120 cyclic triaxial and hollow cylinder tests, the soil behaviour under one to four dimensional loading is intensively investigated. For the first time, the mathematical formulation of the multidimensional strain amplitude in the high-cycle accumulation (HCA) model after Niemunis et al. with up to four dimensional loading can be proven experimentally. The HCA model with the validated definition of the strain amplitude is then used in exemplary numerical calculations of an OWT monopile foundation under multidimensional loading caused by simultaneous wind and wave action. This way, the applicability and the added value of the definition of the multidimensional strain amplitude in the HCA-model for engineering applications and design purposes.

In this paper, the score function and the accuracy function of trapezoidal cubic fuzzy number are developed. We extend cubic fuzzy aggregation operators as the trapezoidal cubic fuzzy weighted geometric operator. Finally, we give an illustrate example to show the multiple attribute group decision-making method with trapezoidal cubic fuzzy weighted geometric operator.

In this paper, we construct an extended version of the TOPSIS method by using cubic information, and provide a numerical application to verify and demonstrate the practicality of the method. A new extension of the gray relation analysis (GRA) method is introduced by using cubic information. We also propose the cubic fuzzy multi-attribute group decision-making model, and the relation between the cubic TOPSIS method and the cubic gray relation analysis (CGRA) method is introduced. Finally, the proposed method is used for selection in sol-gel synthesis of titanium carbide nanopowders. We analyzed the proposed method by using a numerical application to sol-gel synthesis of titanium carbide nanopowders.

In this paper, we define hesitant cubic TOPSIs method. We develop the numerical application and different method. We define the new idea of Hesitant Cubic Gray Analysis Set. We proposed the HCF-MAGDM model and relationships among hesitant cubic TOPSIS method with hesitant cubic gray relation analysis method being introduced. Finally, using the proposed method to Sol-Gel synthesis of titanium carbide (TiC) nanopowders for selection, we analyzed the proposed method by using a numerical application to Sol-Gel synthesis of TiC nanopowders.

Dynamic Modelling, Investigation of Manoeuvring Capability and Navigation Control of a Cargo Ship by using Matlab Simulation

In this paper a simplified dynamic analysis of a cargo ship using simulation and modelling are presented. Provided with mathematical equations dynamics of ship motion characteristics with several maneuvering capabilities are demonstrated with MATLAB & SIMULINK as simulation tool. The equations extended with acting thrust, resistance, steering and ruder forces are demonstrated for several maneuvers like on straight track coasting from full ahead to stop, turning actions A numerical application of fast time simulations on a freighter ship is given with graphical representations. Furthermore a simplified model for rolling motion of ship is introduced and some examples are simulated to explain the general effects of stability and wave parameters. The relation of these results to the more practical use for decision making to avoid resonance effects of ship in waves by loading operations or speed/course changes is demonstrated by means of simulation tool. © 2016

Recently, a new class of mobile applications has appeared that takes into account the behavior of physical phenomenon. Prominent examples of such applications include augmented reality applications visualizing physical processes on a mobile device or mobile cyber-physical systems like autonomous vehicles or robots. Typically, these applications need to solve partial differential equations (PDE) to simulate the behavior of a physical system. There are two basic strategies to numerically solve these PDEs: (1) offload all computations to a remote server;(2) solve the PDE on the resource-constrained mobile device. However, both strategies have severe drawbacks. Offloading will fail if the mobile device is disconnected, and resource constraints require to reduce the quality of the solution. Therefore, we propose a new approach for mobile simulations using a hybrid strategy that is robust to communication failures and can still benefit from powerful server resources. The basic idea of this approach is to dynamically decide on the placement of the PDE solver based on a prediction of the wireless link availability using Markov Chains. Our tests based on measurement in real cellular networks and real mobile devices show that this approach is able to keep deadline constraints in more than 61 % of the cases compared to a pure offloading approach, while saving up to 74 % of energy compared to a simplified approach.

This is a companion paper to a paper of the same title, Part I. In the Part I paper, it was proposed that a centralized control system be established to coordinate some selected dispersed generators (DGs) in a distribution system for providing the usual energy service as well as some ancillary services, such as reactive power control, load following, and compensation of continuous PQ disturbances (e.g., waveform distortions and unbalances). In this companion paper, computer simulations of an actual 29-bus, low-voltage distribution system are reported and discussed in order to illustrate how the ancillary services can be provided by the DG units as a result of the effectiveness of the coordination provided by the proposed centralized control system.

A review is presented for analysis of problems in engineering & the sciences, with the use of the meshless local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) method. The success of the meshless methods lie in the local nature, as well as higher order continuity, of the trial function approximations, high adaptivity and a low cost to prepare input data for numerical analyses, since the creation of a finite element mesh is not required. There is a broad variety of meshless methods available today;however the focus is placed on the MLPG method, in this paper. The MLPG method is a fundamental base for the derivation of many meshless formulations, since the trial and test functions can be chosen from different functional spaces. In the last decade, a broad community of researchers and scientists contributed to the development and implementation of the MLPG method in a wide range of scientific disciplines. This paper first presents the basics and principles of the MLPG method, the meshless local approximation techniques for trial and test functions, applications to elasticity and elastodynamics, plasticity, fracture and crack analysis, heat transfer and fluid flow, coupled problems involving multiphase materials, and techniques for increasing the accuracy and computational effectiveness. Various applications to 2-D planar problems, axisymmetric problems, plates and shells or 3-D problems are included. An increased number of published papers in literature in the recent years can be considered as a measure of the growing research activity in the general scope of the MLPG method, and thus, several trends and ideas for future research interest are also outlined.
