Problem-based learning mode could arouse activity and initiative of students in education. This article studied about applying problem-based learning mode in numerical computation method course. Firstly, feasibility of reforming the course with problem-based learning mode was analyzed. And then, combined with an example, teaching course of problem-based learning mode was elaborated. Feedbacks from students encouraged us to apply problem-based learning mode in more reformation of education.

In this paper, the reform of the teaching mode of the course "numerical computation method" was explored and practiced in the application-oriented undergraduate colleges and universities. Based on the social demand for applied innovative talents with scientific and engineering computing abilities, this paper firstly analyzed the current teaching situation of this course and its important role in cultivating innovative talents. Then, it put forward some suggestions and measures for teaching reform from the aspects of examination modes, teaching methods, teaching contents and teaching means. Finally, the teaching effect of this course was shown to support the reform measures.

Considering most inverse problems cannot be solved analytically, numerical solution approaches is of great importance to solve inverse problems. This paper focuses on the problem of developing numerical computation method for inverse problems, and then utilizes the proposed method to implement an effective image interpolation. Particularly, a linear minimum mean square error based method is proposed, and using this definition, the observation model is given to map the low-resolution images to the high-resolution images by an optimization process. Finally, to evaluate the effectiveness of our proposed approach, PSNR and PQS are used as evaluation criterions. For the experimental results, it can be seen that the proposed method can effectively solve the image interpolation, and the image interpolation results by our method is more close to the original images.

Combining the specific harmonic elimination pulse width modulation technology of cascading H-bridge convertor, this paper discusses the function relationships between its parameters, and establishes the corresponding multiple nonlinear system of equations, and focuses on analysis of advantages and disadvantages of numerical computation methods used to solve this system of equations, such as Newton Raphson method, genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization. Through comprehensive comparison, this paper finds out unknown parameters in improved particle swarm optimization with switching angle initial selection rule used to solve the specific harmonic elimination technology of step wave of cascading H-bridge convertor. This method is of good practical engineering value in preparing the control strategy of cascading H-bridge convertor.

Analysis elastic-plastic behaviour and anisotropy properties of copper film from nanoindentation using numerical computation method

The determination of mechanical properties of nanoscale structures is becoming increasingly important as micro-system and ultra-large-scale integrated circuit technologies continue to mature. Traditional experimental methods cannot avoid the influence on the hardness measurement from the presence of the substrate. numerical computation method of finite-element modelling with molecular dynamics simulation is used to determine the mechanical properties of copper thin film from indentation, quantifying the difference between load against displacement-into-surface curves obtained from different length scale. The results show that the materials deformation exhibits strong size dependence when the relevant physical length scales fall into the range of microns or below. The P-H graph justifies that the permanent plastic deformation quickly decreased while the elastic deformation gradually increased in the range of nanometre level which means increasing of material microhardness. The different deformation behaviour of crystal layers inside the films may be the potential key factor of its breaking off from the substrate. There is little anisotropy phenomenon in the elastic deformation stage whereas there is obvious anisotropy phenomenon in the plastic deformation process. The anisotropy of thin film has strict preferred orientation distribution and symmetry. The anisotropy deformation gradually minimised accompanying the increasing of plastic deformation illuminates the copper thin film is a nonlinear anisotropy elastic-plastic material.

In this paper, a summary of Genetic Algorithm methods developed recent years applied in chemical reaction kinetics was presented. The applications of the Genetic Algorithm in reduction of the chemical reaction kinetics, estimation of the chemical kinetic parameters and calculation of the chemical kinetic equations were expounded here. Eventually, the confronted problem and developing trend of the application of Genetic Algorithm methods in chemical kinetics were reviewed.

We present a numerical computation method called the sequential method for the performance analysis on pure SR ARQ. An approximate method named the stable function method is presented to improve the computation efficiency of the sequential method. For the first time, the two methods give a relatively accurate relationship between the throughput and the physical error ratio, the channel bandwidth, the transfer delay, and any size of buffer. The methods are especially useful for throughput analysis in a broadband satellite ATM case, where the bandwidth delay product is very large. They are also compared with other previous available methods. Comparison results show our method have a quite higher accuracy than other methods, especially in the large bandwidth delay product case.

An approach for pole assignment by dynamic compensator with prespecified poles

In this paper, a new approach for the design of physically realizable dynamic output feedback with prespecified poles to achieve pole assignment in multivariable systems is presented. The proposed approach computes a non unity-rank compensator with lower order in two steps. In the first step, we assign a number of poles by means of constant output feedback using a method based on the implicitly shifted QR algorithm for solving the algebraic eigenvalue problem. In the second step, the assigned poles are preserved and a number of additional poles are placed using a unity-rank dynamic compensator with prespecified poles computed entirely in the frequency domain. numerical example is provided to illustrate the performance of the proposed approach.
