This paper presents an object-oriented Petri Net (OPN) approach to model and analyse the dynamic behaviours of an Automated Manufacturing System (AMS). Both the basic and the complete OPN models are introduced to represent the generic and specific dynamic behaviours of an AMS, respectively. Based on the basic OPN model, we need to construct the object Communication Net (OCNet) for each physical object, and then employ the theory of invariants to perform the deadlock analysis. For an analysed non-deadlock basic OPN model, the complete OPN model for a specific AMS may be effectively derived from it by only including those related system constraints (e.g. part routing, resource capacity), since the basic OPN class library is reusable. A conflict analysis approach is then introduced to identify all the conflicting events involved in the complete OPN model, so that the most suitable control/decision strategy for resolving each conflict event may be suggested. Consequently, a rule-based control software may be implemented directly from the specification of the validated complete OPN model by following a number of transformation rules. Built-up area marks the use of city construction land in the different periods of the development, the accurate extraction is the key to the studies of the changes of urban expansion. This paper studies the technology of automatic extraction of urban built-up area based on object-oriented method and remote sensing data, and realizes the automatic extraction of the main built-up area of the city, which saves the manpower cost greatly. First, the extraction of construction land based on object-oriented method, the main technical steps include:(1) Multi-resolution segmentation;(2) Feature Construction and Selection;(3) Information Extraction of Construction Land Based on Rule Set, The characteristic parameters used in the rule set mainly include the mean of the red band(Mean R), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI), Ratio of residential index(RRI), Blue band mean(Mean B), Through the combination of the above characteristic parameters, the construction site information can be extracted. Based on the degree of adaptability, distance and area of the object domain, the urban built-up area can be quickly and accurately defined from the construction land information without depending on other data and expert knowledge to achieve the automatic extraction of the urban built-up area. In this paper, Beijing city as an experimental area for the technical methods of the experiment, the results show that: the city built-up area to achieve automatic extraction, boundary accuracy of 2359.65 m to meet the requirements. The automatic extraction of urban built-up area has strong practicality and can be applied to the monitoring of the change of the main built-up area of city.

It is crucial to conduct the land use/cover research to obtain the global change *** area is one of the most sensitive areas in land use/cover *** land use/cover change in urban areas is very im-portant in global *** is vital to incorporate the information of urban land use/cover change into the process of decision-making about urban area *** this paper,a new urban change detection approach,urban dynamic monitoring based on objects,is *** approach includes four steps:1)producing multi-scale objects from multi-temporal remotely sensed images with spectrum,texture and context information;2)extracting possible changed objects adopting object-oriented classification;3)obtaining shared objects as the basic units for urban change detection;4)determining the threshold to segment the changed objects from the possible changed objects using Otsu *** this paper,the object-based approach was applied to detecting the urban expansion in Haidian District,Beijing,China with two Landsat Thematic Mapper(TM)data in 1997 and *** results indicated that the overall accuracy was about 84.83%,and Kappa about *** with other conventional approaches,the object-based approach was advantageous in reducing the error accumulation of image classification of each datum and in independence to the radiometric correction and image registration accuracy.

An open architecture manufacturing system pursues to integrate manufacturing components on a single platform. Therefore, a particular component can be easily added and/or replaced. In this paper, a modular and object-oriented approach for the PC-based open robot control (PC-ORC) system is investigated. A standard reference model for controlling robots, which consists of a hardware platform, an operating system module, and various application software modules, is first proposed. Then, PC-ORC system, which can reconfigure the control system in various production environments, is developed. The PC-ORC is constructed based upon the object-oriented method. Hence, it allows an easy implementation and modification of various modules. The PC-ORC consists of basic software, application objects, and additional hardware devices on a PC platform. Finally, by applying the proposed PC-ORC to a SCARA robot, the performance of the PC-ORC is examined. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.

Software download enabling terminal reconfigurability

We present a software download algorithm that enables download of configuration software, via different media, to mobile terminals. The proposed signalling protocol and the message sequence have been described in detail;Downloading software through any media has basically the same set of requirements i.e, download initiation, client capability negotiation, download channel capacity user/provider mutual authentication procedures and error-free software delivery, installation, authorisation and billing have to be negotiated. Procedures that provide implententations of these algorithms have been incorporated in the proposed download signalling protocol. Also, all message parameters to be passed for the full information exchange between client and server have been described, and a prototype implementation based on a distributed object platform (Java RMI-CORBA) is presented and described. Software download signalling within the prototype uses CORBA (OrbixWeb) as the signalling platform. The HOP connection between remote peers (client and server) is handled by two proxies communicating via the ORB. These proxies are generated from interfaces defined in IDL. For download however Java-RMI has been used as the transport mechanism. Finally, the signalling and download delay behaviour of the proposed architecture is presented. It is shown that an overhead of 0.35-0.45 seconds due to signalling exchange is independent of the file size to be downloaded for file sizes in the range 100-200 kB. The behaviour shows a flat delay duration of similar to240ms for files sizes below 100 kB and a linearly increasing duration for files sizes beyond. A size of 200 kBytes can be regarded as the break-even point after which the signalling (and marshalling) overheads of RMI start to become more efficient and the duration starts to depend on the file sizes rather than the overheads of the transport mechanism. Shoreline Change Detection and Forecast along the Yancheng Coast Using a Digital Shoreline Analysis System

Shorelines are the dynamic interfaces of both terrestrial and marine environments and are sensitive to climate and anthropogenic influences. The change in the shoreline plays a critical role in intertidal mudflat resources and coastal ecological environment. This paper extracts shoreline along the coast of Yancheng from 1983 to 2020 using a new procedure. The proposed procedure is based on a combination of object-oriented technology and thresholding the wetness components of the tasseled cap transformation (TCT). Then, we studied the temporal and spatial variation in the shoreline and predicted shore movement using the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS). The results indicated that we yielded a better extraction of shoreline results using the new approach. The shoreline change analysis for the coast of Yancheng over 40 years indicated that 89% was accretion, 3% was under stable coast and erosion was 8%. The coast showed a significant trend of expanding to the sea. Finally, we forecasted shoreline position for the years 2019 and 2020 based on the historical shoreline position data from 1983 to 2009 and 1983-2010 by using the Kalman filter. The results of this study may help coastal researchers and decision makers to guide the use, management, and planning of coastal zones in further study.

Mapping the distribution of mangrove species in the Core Zone of Mai Po Marshes Nature Reserve, Hong Kong, using hyperspectral data and high-resolution data

Mangrove species compositions and distributions are essential for conservation and restoration efforts. In this study, hyperspectral data of EO-1 HYPERION sensor and high spatial resolution data of SPOT-5 sensor were used in Mai Po mangrove species mapping. objected-oriented method was used in mangrove species classification processing. Firstly, mangrove objects were obtained via segmenting high spatial resolution data of SPOT-5. Then the objects were classified into different mangrove species based on the spectral differences of HYPERION image. The classification result showed that in the top canopy, Kandelia obovata and Avicennia marina dominated Mai Po Marshes Natural Reserve, with area of 196.8 ha and 110.8 ha, respectively, Acanthus ilicifolius and Aegiceras corniculatum were mixed together and living at the edge of channels with an area of 11.7 ha. Additionally, mangrove species shows clearly zonations and associations in the Mai Po Core Zone. The overall accuracy of our mangrove map was 88% and the Kappa confidence was 0.83, which indicated great potential of using hyperspectral and high-resolution data for distinguishing and mapping mangrove species. Building Extraction from LIDAR Based Semantic Analysis

Extraction of buildings from LIDAR data has been an active research field in recent years. A scheme for building detection and reconstruction from LIDAR data is presented with an object-oriented method which is based on the buildings’ semantic rules. Two key steps are discussed: how to group the discrete LIDAR points into single objects and how to establish the buildings’ semantic rules. In the end, the buildings are reconstructed in 3D form and three common parametric building models (flat, gabled, hipped) are implemented.
