This paper explores the circumnavigation of a stationary target by a group of nonholonomic agents aiming to achieve a desired multi-circular formation. Despite the substantial number of works in the area of cooperative circumnavigation problems, the existing literature lacks an optimal control law that minimizes the deviation of the desired values of agents. Therefore, a two-stage control protocol is proposed in this work to ensure the multi-circular circumnavigation formation. At first, assuming the inaccessibility of the formation parameters to some of the agents, distributed estimators are considered to estimate the parameters. Then, a linear quadratic regulator (LQR) based decentralized optimal control algorithm is proposed to minimize a weighted sum of squared deviations from desired states and control inputs. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated through numerical simulations.

In the process of construction and operation of the power grid, power load forecasting is a very important part, according to the forecast results, can be better grid scheduling and security monitoring and other important work, so it is very necessary to do the forecast as much as possible to improve the prediction accuracy, according to the selection of the data in the temperature, humidity, date type and load data analysis, the use of optimization of the hyperparameters of the LSTM neural network through the grey wolf optimization algorithm, and finally the use of the optimized model for prediction.

The max-product fuzzy relation inequalities have been applied to describe the quantitative relation in a wireless communication base-station system in the existing work. However, the potential line fault between a base station and a signal testing point has not been considered. In this article, we define the so-called random-term-absent max-product fuzzy relation inequalities for describing the wireless communication base-station system with a random line fault. Based on the practical application consideration, we further construct a bilevel optimization problem subject to random-term-absent max-product fuzzy relation inequalities. For solving such bilevel optimization problem, properties of the random-term-absent system, as well as the common single-level fuzzy relation programming, are investigated. At last, a detailed algorithm is developed to find the optimal solution of our proposed bilevel optimization problem.

optimization of ground tracking stations for BDS-3 satellite orbit determination

A precise satellite orbit is the basis for high-precision services for users, and the determination of high-precision satellite orbits depends on the reasonable distribution and volume of ground tracking stations (GTSs). In July 2020, the BeiDou global navigation satellite system (BDS-3) was completed and began to be operated globally. Based on the principle of dynamic orbit determination, we first developed an algorithm to determine the optimal distribution and number of GTSs for accurate satellite orbit determination. Subsequently, based on 10 GTSs located in China, the optimal distribution and number of GTSs with and without inter-satellite link (ISL) ranging observations were determined. Finally, real measurements of GTS and ISL ranging observation data were used to validate the GTS results yielded by the algorithm. Using 18 BDS-3 satellites, and based on non-ISL observations and 10 Chinese regional GTSs, we found that GTSs distributed near the equator contributed significantly to the accuracy of orbit determination for these satellites compared to other GTSs. Orbit determination results obtained from the measured data of the optimal GTSs were more accurate than those obtained from the measured data of uniformly distributed global GTSs. Upon the addition of 55 uniformly distributed GTSs worldwide, the orbit determination accuracy for BDS-3 satellites tended to plateau. Moreover, following the addition of ISL, although the distribution and number of GTSs was optimized using the proposed algorithm, the orbit determination results from the measured data revealed that a change in the distribution and number of GTSs had a limited effect on the BDS-3 orbit determination results. Increased battery energy density is required to boost electric vehicle endurance;however, this also raises the possibility of thermal runaway and power battery explosion. Improving the cooling system performance requires optimization and enhancement of classical systems. Traditional design approaches struggle to simultaneously enhance multiple aspects of performance, while an optimization based on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods is often inefficient. Therefore, by integrating a flow resistance network model (FRNM) with a weighted average optimization algorithm (INFO), an efficient optimization for the comprehensive performance of the system can be achieved. Five optimized systems under different airflow rates were obtained through optimization. A comparison with two existing systems validated the effectiveness of the optimized system. The results demonstrate that, compared to the two reference systems, the optimized system decreases the maximum temperature difference by 65.51 % and 39.07 %, respectively. Furthermore, the improvement in temperature uniformity is more significant, increasing by 63.76 % and 34.40 %, respectively.

Comparison of different optimization techniques applied to optimal operation of energy storage systems in standalone and grid-connected direct current microgrids

This study addresses the problem of optimal operation and functioning of lithium-ion batteries in direct current (DC) microgrids with photovoltaic generators, in both urban and rural settings, under an approach that considers three mathematical models as objective functions: reduction of operational costs, reduction of power losses associated with energy transport, and reduction of CO 2 emissions produced by conventional generators. After defining the objective functions, six optimization algorithms are integrated as solution methodologies: Equilibrium Optimizer (EO), Salp Swarm algorithm (SSA), Particle Swarm optimization (PSO), Sine and Cosine algorithm (SCA), Black Hole Optimizer (BHO), and the Generalized Normal Distribution Optimizer (GNDO) algorithm. These methodologies are used to determine the hourly power flow through successive approximations, thus evaluating each of the objective functions with the system's constraints in order to achieve reductions of each objective function and thereby confirm the quality of the solutions applied to the problem under analysis. Where, for the urban case of Medell & iacute;n, the optimization achieved minimum reductions of 0.163% in fixed costs, 1.436% in variable costs, 7.160% in power losses, and 0.165% in CO 2 emissions. In the rural case of Capurgan & aacute;, the results showed minimum reductions of 0.095% in energy costs and 10.938% in power losses. These numerical results confirm the effectiveness of the applied optimization algorithms in reducing operational costs, power losses, and emissions, thereby validating the quality of the solutions for the analyzed problem.

Aiming at the influence of poor cooling conditions and traditional cooling control strategy on motorized spindle temperature and machining performance. Firstly, the heat transfer model of the motorized spindle cooling system is studied. Secondly, the influence of coolant inlet flow rate and temperature on the thermal characteristics of the motorized spindle is studied. Then, a thermal network model is established to solve the temperature of each temperature measuring point. Finally, the thermal characteristic experiment of the motorized spindle is carried out, and the cooling fluid flow optimization model is established based on the particle swarm optimization algorithm and simulated annealing algorithm. The results show that the temperature difference of the motorized spindle does not exceed 45 degrees C, the thermal deformation does not exceed 40.2 mu m, and the thermal elongation is inhibited by 36 %. The maximum error of the Thermal Network Method and Finite Element Method(FEM)is 14.24 %. The utilization of the average logarithmic temperature difference for assessing the cooling effectiveness of optimal flow rates revealed that the particle swarm optimization algorithm demonstrates a comparatively lower average logarithmic temperature difference in comparison to the simulated annealing algorithm. The heat exchange efficiency of the motorized spindle is higher under the optimal flow rate obtained by the particle swarm algorithm.

Verification for a complex engineering system is essential for ensuring confidence in the system's performance, but verification must often be carried out under rigid time and cost constraints. Verification planning is the problem of deciding how to allocate resources in this process, and verification for some projects may use more time and money than is necessary to achieve a desired level of certainty. This paper proposes a systems engineering methodology for designing optimal verification plans to enable systems engineers to systematically plan verification activities. This methodology uses optimal Bayesian experimental design (OBED) to determine sets of activities that minimize effort and maximize certainty of system performance. The development of an OBED approach to verification planning is presented and its usefulness is demonstrated on a representative problem, planning verification activities for ensuring performance of a CCD.

To address the issues of the Dwarf Mongoose optimization algorithm (DMOA) being prone to local optima and exhibiting low convergence accuracy during its operation, this paper introduces the Chaotic Dwarf Mongoose optimization algorithm (CDMOA). The CDMO algorithm employs a chaos mapping strategy to ensure a uniform distribution of the initial population across the solution space, thereby enhancing population diversity. Additionally, it utilizes an inverse learning strategy to bolster the global search capabilities of the algorithm. Comparative experiments conducted using benchmark test functions demonstrate that CDMOA outperforms the original DMO algorithm in terms of optimization performance, convergence accuracy, and algorithm stability. Finally, the application of CDMOA to drone flight path planning is presented. The simulation results indicate that the optimized flight paths generated by the improved algorithm are superior and more stable.

A new design of robust variable horizon model predictive control (VH-MPC) with move blocking is proposed for helicopter shipboard landings on moving decks in rough seas. The design introduces an efficient strategy to implement the VH-MPC by evaluating multiple controllers at each iteration, corresponding to different horizon lengths, and selecting the one with the lowest cost. This approach avoids the computational burden of solving a batch of mixed integer quadratic programming problem for executing VH-MPC. Additionally, move blocking is introduced to reduce the number of decision variables in the MPC optimization problem. The new VH-MPC can be executed in parallel computation, which means the controller latency is determined by the slowest single optimization problem's solution time rather than the sum of all solution times. To evaluate the design, a nonlinear helicopter-ship dynamics interface is utilized, incorporating significant helicopter and ship dynamics, as well as ship airwake interactions.
