High pulsed electrical field as pre-processing step for fruits and vegetables in the vacuum freeze drying could increase drying rate efficiency and preserve nutritional ingredients in maximum. Moreover, high pulsed electrical field pretreatment has been successfully used to solve practical problems in the vacuum freeze drying, such as energy consumption, high production costs and long drying time etc. The drying experiments were conducted with apples which were pretreated by high pulsed electrical field, and the results showed that high pulsed electrical field pretreatment could increase the drying rate obviously. According to the range analysis, the optimal parameters of high pulsed electrical field for drying were obtained as follows: pulse strength was 1000 ***(-1), pulse time was 120 mu s, and pulse number was 30. By using the above optimal conditions, energy consumption per unit of water was reduced by 17.74%, freeze drying time was shortened by 22.50%, and productivity per unit area was increased by 28.50% than results of the untreated group. In addition, it was found that the most important physical factors of high pulsed electrical field which affected the vacuum freeze drying were the pulse duration, pulse strength and pulse number.

TiO2 supported Pd-Sb catalysts were prepared by impregnation method and tested for the selective vapour phase acetoxylation of toluene to benzyl acetate (BA). Investigations were carried out to optimise reaction variables such as effects of reaction temperature, acetic acid/toluene mole ratio, O-2/toluene mole ratio, contact time, etc. to obtain better performance of the catalysts. Additionally, the influence of Sb/Pd ratio on catalytic performance was also checked under optimised reaction conditions. The activity of the catalysts was found to increase continuously with increasing Sb/Pd ratio up to 0.7 and then decreased with further increase in Sb/Pd ratio to 1.75. The catalyst with Sb/Pd ratio of 0.7 exhibited the best performance among all other catalysts of this series giving a conversion of toluene as high as ca. 68% with BA selectivity of 85%. All these catalysts were observed to deactivate with time on stream due to considerable amount of coke deposition. However, these catalysts can be regenerated in air and reused for more number of cycles with consistent performance. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Biochip technology has been revolutionizing most fields of molecular biology. One of the main issues confronting further development of biochip technology is the strength of signals produced by probe-target interaction, especially in cases of low probe and target concentrations. In order to achieve stronger signals and lower detection limits, we aim at (a) the optimization of chip process parameters, (b) the use of gold particles as labels in surface-enhanced fluorescence detection and (c) increasing surface reflectivity by the addition of SiO2 and TiO2 layers. process parameters optimized were print buffer, humidity control during arraying, and probe concentration. Surface chemistries, such as porous poly(styrene-co-4-vinylbenzylthiocyanate) (PST-co-VBT) and epoxy resin, have been tested as to their suitability for protein attachment. Surface enhanced fluorescence (SEF) was observed as a result of processing the array using Dy633- and Au-labelled target in different ratios. Enhancement of the reflectivity was achieved by incorporating high-index refractive TiO2 layers between two low-refractive polymer layers or between the glass substrate and the polymer layer by means of hydrothermal synthesis of nanostructured TiO2 particles or sol-gel technology. The characteristics of these interference coatings differed as to the refractive index of the layers, the film thickness and the stack design. (c) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

A new kind of swarm intelligence algorithm called stochastic focusing search(SFS) is proposed and applied to optimize sheet metal forming process in this paper. The steps of the optimization procedure include combining numerical simulation technology with orthogonal experiments to provide training samples for BP net, and producing the fitted function as optimization function for SFS algorithm. The validation of the final optimization results by a rectangular box part stamping case shows that this kind of optimization methodology is correct and reliable for the design of deep drawing process. Advantages of the SFS algorithm are demonstrated that SFS has good global searching ability and fast convergence speed in finding optimal solutions, which means the optimization method using SFS algorithm can provide a competitive way of solving the optimization design problems in sheet metal forming.

Projekt vypracovaný v rámci inženýrského studia oboru M2307: Strojírenská technologie, Specializace 02: Tváření – svařování se zabývá optimalizací procesních parametrů pro žárový nástřik elektrickým obloukem na zařízení TAFA 9935. V teoretické části je rozebrán princip vytváření povlaků žárovým nástřikem, popis jednotlivých metod vytváření povlaku žárovým nástřikem, popis technologického postupu vytváření žárového nástřiku a druhy přídavných materiálů. V praktické části jsou nastíněny možnosti zařízení pro nástřik elektrickým proudem TAFA 9935, je provedena volba vhodných přídavných materiálů a vytvoření zkušebních vzorků různými parametry nástřiku. Dále jsou provedeny zkoušky kvality povrchu povlaku jednotlivých vzorků a jejich vyhodnocení.

Abrasive water jet polishing has significant advantages in the manufacturing of complex optical components (such as high-slope optical component cavities) that require high-precision manufacturing. This is due to its processing process, in which the polishing tool does not make direct contact with the surface of the workpiece, and instead maintains a considerable distance. However, the removal functions of most existing abrasive water-jet polishing technologies do not possess strict symmetry, which significantly impacts the ability to correct surface figure errors. Therefore, this study implements rotating abrasive water-jet polishing based on traditional abrasive water jet processing to optimize the removal function, which turns it into a Gaussian form;thus, obtaining a type of removal function more suitable for CCOS polishing. This paper derives an empirical formula between the distance s' from the peak removal point of the removal function to the stagnation point and the nozzle tilt angle alpha, based on geometric relationships and experimental results, analyzes the relationship between material removal efficiency, nozzle tilt angle, and standoff distance. Finally, this paper verifies through experiments the validity of this empirical formula under different process parameters. Therefore, this study obtains the process conditions that allow rotating abrasive water-jet polishing technology to achieve a stable Gaussian form removal function, and the appropriate process parameters to be selected in conjunction with polishing efficiency;thereby, effectively improving the removal function's corrective ability and manufacturing efficiency. It provides theoretical support for the processing capability and process parameter selection of abrasive water-jet polishing technology, solves the problem of limited shaping capability of existing abrasive water jet tools, and significantly improves the manufacturing capability of high-end optical components.

process optimization for Compression Molding of Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Thermosetting Polymer

To enhance the quality and mechanical performance of a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) workpiece, this paper prepares a polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-based carbon fiber-reinforced thermosetting polymer (CFRTP) laminated board through compression molding, and carries out orthogonal tests and single-factor tests to disclose the effects of different process parameters (i.e., compression temperature, compression pressure, pressure-holding time, and cooling rate) on the mechanical performance of the CFRTP workpieces. Moreover, the process parameters of compression molding were optimized based on the test results. The research results show that: The process parameters of compression molding can be ranked as compression temperature, pressure-holding time, compression pressure, cooling rate, and mold-opening temperature, in descending order of the impact on the mechanical property of the CFRTP;the optimal process parameters for compression molding include a compression temperature of 150 degrees C, a pressure-holding time of 20 min, a compression pressure of 50 T, a cooling rate of 3.5 degrees C/min, and a mold-opening temperature of 80 degrees C. Under this parameter combination, the tensile strength, bending strength, and the interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) of the samples were, respectively, 785.28, 680.36, and 66.15 MPa.

The proper process parameter of dephosphorization is a key problem in actual steelmaking production. This article presents a rule set model combining a k-means method and a decision tree model, which can extract the rule set from the actual production data to optimize the dephosphorization process. The industrial data from Consteel electric arc furnace are selected as the sample data, and then, the phosphorus partition ratio (L-p) is calculated based on the selected data. The k-means method is used to divide the calculated L-p into two classes (high L-p and low L-p), and meanwhile, through the data statistic, the importance variables, including oxygen consumption, lime weight, dolomite weight, smelting temperature, and scrap ratio (ratio of scrap weight and hot metal weight), are extracted and merged with the classified L-p data into the new data set. Then, the decision tree is used to extract the valuable information to obtain the rule set from new data set. From the rule set, the optimum range of scrap ratio and oxygen consumption under different smelting conditions is obtained, which can guide the adjustment of process parameters in the actual production to enhance the dephosphorization effect.

Capacity Consistency Prediction and process Parameter optimization of Lithium-Ion Battery based on Neural Network and Particle Swarm optimization Algorithm

The grading capacity of lithium-ion battery is an important basis for evaluating battery quality. Aiming at the difficulty of determining the critical control factors and the threshold of the control parameters in the lithium-ion battery manufacturing process, a capacity prediction and process parameter optimization model of lithium-ion battery is proposed by combining the back propagation (BP) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithms. First, the BP method is applied to establish the nonlinear mapping relationship between process data and grading capacity, which is regarded as the capacity consistency prediction model. Second, using the prediction model as fitness function and combining with PSO algorithm, the optimization model of process parameters is established. Finally, under the given initial process parameters from the lithium-ion battery pilot line, it is carried out to obtain the best process parameter formula. The results show that the BP method has an accurate capacity consistency prediction effect. Combined with PSO algorithm, the optimized process parameters are obtained, which significantly improves the capacity consistency of lithium-ion batteries. The results serve as an engineering application method to guide the selection and confirmation of process parameters at the battery design stage.
