Fixed/predefined-time synchronization of memristor-based complex-valued BAM neural networks for image protection

This paper investigates the fixed-time synchronization and the predefined-time synchronization of memristive complex-valued bidirectional associative memory neural networks (MCVBAMNNs) with leakage time-varying delay. First, the proposed neural networks are regarded as two dynamic real-valued systems. By designing a suitable feedback controller, combined with the Lyapunov method and inequality technology, a more accurate upper bound of stability time estimation is given. Then, a predefined-time stability theorem is proposed, which can easily establish a direct relationship between tuning gain and system stability time. Any predefined time can be set as controller parameters to ensure that the synchronization error converges within the predefined time. Finally, the developed chaotic MCVBAMNNs and predefined-time synchronization technology are applied to image encryption and decryption. The correctness of the theory and the security of the cryptographic system are verified by numerical simulation.

This research studies the realization of fixed-time synchronization and predefined-time synchroniza-tion over complex networks in the light of T-S fuzzy system by employing ameliorating control strategies. Firstly, different from the previous results, some novel results of considered system are acquired to ensure fixed-time synchronization and predefined-time synchronization. Secondly, some more relaxed conditions are acquired for fixed-time synchronization, besides, several exacter settling time estimates are obtained by using some specific functions. Thirdly, via special control schemes, the synchronization based on predefined-time method is studied, whose synchronization time can be set up in advance according to actual needs. It is worth noting that synchronization time is not only irrelevant to the system parameters but also independent of the initial states. Particularly, the necessary conditions of fixed-time and predefined-time synchronization on T-S fuzzy complex networks are obtained. Lastly, the improved fixed-time and predefined-time synchronization results are confirmed by a numerical simulation. (c) 2023 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Multi-wing chaotic system based on smooth function and its predefined time synchronization

In this paper, the construction of multi-wing chaotic system and predefined time synchronization are investigated. First, a new 4D chaotic system is constructed, and the existence of chaotic attractors is proved by dissipativity, boundedness, and Lyapunov exponents. Then the existence of a saddle focus of index-2 is proved by equilibrium point analysis, and a multi-winged hyperchaotic system is generated by extending the saddle focus with the constructed smooth function, which is found to be more complex and more conducive to synchronization applications by complexity analysis. Then the simulation of the circuit also proves the chaotic properties of the system in a physical sense. Finally, a new robust controller is designed using the fast terminal sliding mode algorithm to achieve predefined time synchronization between heterogeneous chaotic systems, and the numerical simulation results indicate that this synchronization method has a rapid time of convergence and achieves the predefined time effect.

This paper explores the realization of a predefined-time synchronization problem for coupled memristive neural networks with multi-links (MCMNN) via nonlinear control. Several effective conditions are obtained to achieve the predefined-time synchronization of MCMNN based on the controller and Lyapunov function. Moreover, the settling time can be tunable based on a parameter designed by the controller, which is more flexible than fixed-time synchronization. Then based on the predefined-time stability criterion and the tunable settling time, we propose a secure communication scheme. This scheme can determine security of communication in the aspect of encrypting the plaintext signal with the participation of multi-links topology and coupled form. Meanwhile, the plaintext signals can be recovered well according to the given new predefined-time stability theorem. Finally, numerical simulations are given to verify the effectiveness of the obtained theoretical results and the feasibility of the secure communication scheme.

In this paper, a class of competitive neural network models based on octonions is first constructed, and its predefined-time synchronization is explored by applying non-separation method and aperiodic complete intermittent control. Based on classification analysis and measurable selection theory, two novel equalities regarding octonion algebra are developed, which play a key role in studying the synchronization of octonion-valued systems using non-separation method and controllers with sign functions. Additionally, a new predefined-time stability lemma is proposed for systems with aperiodic complete intermittent controllers by utilizing mathematical induction. Then, two type of octonion-valued aperiodic complete intermittent controllers are designed for the first time to induce the predefined-time synchronization of the constructed model. Meanwhile, some new criteria for predefined-time synchronization are deduced. Finally, the effectiveness of the theoretical results is verified by a numerical example.

This paper is concerned with the predefined-time modified function projective synchronization problem of memristor-based multidirectional associative memory neural networks (MMAMNNs) with time-varying delay. Firstly, anew predefined-time stability theorem is proposed, which imposes more relaxed and effective conditions on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii function (LKF). Secondly, by designing anew feedback control strategy, sufficient conditions for ensuring the predefined-time modified function projection synchronization between master and slave systems are obtained. In addition, by changing the projection factor, the results of this paper can be flexibly extended to various synchronization types, such as complete synchronization, anti- synchronization, and proportional synchronization. Finally, the correctness of the theory is verified through numerical simulations.

In the context of chaotic secure communication, this paper is concerned with the predefined-time polynomial-function-based synchronization of chaotic systems via sliding mode control. Firstly, a novel hybrid synchronization scheme among multiple chaotic systems based on polynomial function is defined. Subsequently, based on a new predefined-time stability criterion, a novel multi-power integral terminal sliding mode control algorithm is designed to realize the predefined-time polynomial-function-based synchronization. Finally, the secure communication simulation is presented to verify the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed synchronization scheme. The polynomial-function-based synchronization not only uses the addition and subtraction of vectors, but also uses the power multiplication of vectors, which makes the nonlinear structure of the composed drive system more complex, so that the communication scheme is more secure. Applying the sliding mode control algorithm designed in this work, the synchronization time can be preset off-line without estimation, moreover, the ratio between the formation time and the convergence time of sliding mode can also be distributed in advance, which is more flexible.

New predefined-time stability results of impulsive systems with time-varying impulse strength and its application to synchronization of delayed BAM neural networks

In this paper, the predefined-time synchronization of BAM neural networks with hybrid impulsive effects and time-varying delays is explored. First, based on the improved Lyapunov function method, two novel predefined-time stability lemmas of impulsive dynamical systems are given, in which the derivative of Lyapunov function can be negative definite or indefinite. Second, different from previous studies on constant impulse strength, we consider the impulse strength as a time-varying function, which can take different values at different moments and allow for the coexistence of both stabilizing and destabilizing impulses simultaneously. Then, two novel controllers are designed, and some sufficient conditions are derived to ensure predefined-time synchronization of the established system. Finally, the effectiveness of the obtained criteria is verified by a numerical simulation. The results show that the synchronized time can be adjusted according to actual needs and does not depend on the initial values and parameters of the system.

This paper aims to investigate the predefined-time synchronization analysis for two chaotic systems with different dimensions. Firstly, based on the definition of predefined-time stability, we propose a new con-trol protocol that can realize the synchronization of two chaotic systems with different dimensions in predefined-time. Secondly, by using adaptive control the predefined-time synchronization analysis of two different dimensional chaotic systems in the presence of parameter uncertainties is also taken into ac-count. Our results improve and extend some recent works. Finally, the efficacy of the obtained results is proven by numerical simulations. (c) 2021 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
