Programming story problems requires an understanding of the requirements of the problem statement and how to write source code that satisfies them. However, some learners are unable to write source code that meets the requirements of the problem statement. Therefore, we modeled the problem-solving process in programming story problems. The problem-solving process begins by organizing the information in the context of the problem statement, thinking through the abstract operations necessary to find a solution, and defining the solution. In this study, we propose a learning support method and develop a learning support system that follows this problem-solving process.

Considering preservice teachers' reflections on their best academic learning experiences, the purpose of this research was to use a problem-solving lens to analyze how preservice teachers were first identifying an educational problem and then suggesting solutions where educational technology could be meaningfully implemented. This research used an exploratory, descriptive qualitative method. The participants included 100 preservice teachers enrolled in an introductory educational technology course at a large midwestern university in the U.S. Data were analyzed using an ill-structured problem-solving model synthesized from previous literature, with results presented by key phases: identifying problems, generating solutions, making justifications, and monitoring. The results of this study indicate that preservice teachers (i.e., novice problem solvers) had a simplistic understanding of technology integration, likely resulting from underdeveloped problem-solving skills. These results provide insight into the preservice teachers' problem-solving thinking and how they conceptualized the teaching-learning process, including technology integration.

We have previously proposed a problem-solving process model using logical expressions, based on the observation that legal statements can be described using logical expressions when considering the problem-solving process model used by engineering students in the study of law. However, propositional logic alone has a limited range of application to practice problems, and so here we examine the description of practice problems using predicate logic by extending propositional logic to first-order predicate logic, and consider the effectiveness of this approach.

On-line videos are widely used on e-learning. However, the learning activities of on-line video still need to be designed and evaluated especially. Wang (2010) proposed a web-based anchored instruction that were a new online learning activity based on anchored instruction and composed of on-line video learning and collaborative problem-solving learning. In this study, the author investigated the process of collaborative problemsolving and examined the relationships among students' learning styles, learning outcomes and problem-solving abilities in the web-based anchored instruction. The results showed that problem analysis and group discussion had a significant relation with learning outcomes, and personal annotations made before collaborative learning could contribute to subsequent group discussion.

The process of solving information management's problems is a hardheaded thinking in decision-making. Although many scholars proposed related theories and suggestions, these are so conceptual and one-sided that cannot be a systematic application. As the result, enterprises are always disorganized when solvingproblems. The reason is that enterprises can't clearly utilize systematic processes in an idea of problem-solving. Therefore, this research (1) uses Information processing Theory to control the concept of problem-solving;(2) builds "Systematic Information problem-solving process" with Pyramid Principle;(3) verifies and modifies the systematic process through qualitative methods. It is believed that the research not only shows a new perspective in academia, but gives enterprises a systematic process to improve the ability of solvingproblems.

Theories of school-based consultation posit that by using consultative services to resolve a difficult problem, the consultee will gain the ability to solve similar problems in the future. This study sought to examine if exposing participants to the consultation process results in increased understanding of the problem-solving process as well as higher scores on a measure of problem-solving orientation. Participants (N = 207) were randomly assigned to watch a video of a consultant and consultee using the consultation process to resolve a problem, a lecture style voice-over PowerPoint reviewing the steps of the problem-solving process, or a video of two individuals discussing a problem with components of neither the consultative, nor the problem-solving process included. The results of an omnibus F test revealed a statistically significant result across conditions on a measure of participants’ understanding of the problem-solving process; however, post-hoc analyses were not statistically significant. No statistically significant effects were noted on a measure of problem-solving orientation. Implications of these findings are considered.

Based on the assumption that translation is a problem-solving process, this article copes with the range of problems in tourist literature translation. It first points out difficulties in the translation process, which are mainly caused by cultural differences and logical delicacy. Then it follows Nida's four-stage translation procedures to find solutions to these problems. It is expected to shed some light on the translation of Chinese tourist literature and inspire further interest in the study of this area.

In this theoretical article, organizational adaptability is modeled as a four-stage creative problem-solving process, with each stage involving a different kind of cognitive activity. Individuals have different preferences for each stage and thus are said to have different creative problem-solving process styles. The Creative problemsolving Profile (CPSP) assesses these styles and maps onto and interconnects directly with the four stages of this creative problem-solving process. Field research (n = 6,091) is presented in which the psychometric properties of the CPSP are established and the distribution of styles in different occupations and at different organizational levels are examined. A concrete blueprint is provided for organizational leaders to follow to (a) increase organizational adaptability, (b) simplify and facilitate change management, and (c) address important organizational effectiveness issues at the individual, team, and organizational levels. Real-world application examples are shared and future research opportunities to expand the CPSP's usefulness are suggested.

problemsolving has become one of the interesting skills investigated by many researchers all around the world especially those who are involved in professional curricula. In Malaysia, the EAC (Engineering Accreditation Council) in its accreditation manual has established new and more specific programme outcomes for engineering programmes. In fact, four out of twelve programme outcomes listed in the manual are related to problem-solving skill. Realizing the importance of this skill among engineering graduates, several studies have indicated various teaching and learning approaches towards promoting it. Nevertheless there are still complaints from industry leaders concerning the lack in problem-solving skill among engineering graduates. The main aim of this study is to verify the existence of problem-solving process in the activities carried out in a problem/Project-based Laboratory (PBLab) course offered by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Twenty students and four different PBLab facilitators are involved in this study. The variations in the conduct of the PBLab course activities by different facilitators are also studied for identification purposes. Furthermore, this study is a qualitative case study research where the data has been collected using the observation field notes approach and has been thoroughly analysed using the thematic analysis technique. The findings have indicated the occurrence of problem-solving processes in the PBLab course through the activities conducted although there are variations when conducted by different facilitators.

With the development of knowledge economy globalization, problem-solving ability has become a necessary basic ability for students. Researches have confirmed that STEM teaching is an appropriate approach to improve students' problem-solving ability by taking interdisciplinary problems as the orientation. However, how to design STEM teaching experiment? What is the effect of STEM teaching in improving students' problem-solving ability? In order to answer the above two questions, this study adopted literature research method and quasi-experimental research method, and selected two classes of students in a middle school as research objects to carry out an empirical study for two months. Based on measurement tools such as problem-solving attitude questionnaire, problemsolving-process observation table, and STEM work evaluation matrix, this study systematically and comprehensively verified the effect of STEM teaching on students' problem-solving ability. The results showed that STEM teaching has a positive effect on students' problem-solving attitude, problem-solving process and problem-solving results. Furthermore, the evaluation dimensions and tools for students' problem-solving ability in this study can he directly applied to relevant studies for future STEM teaching researches.
