Sexual harassment is an intractable problem that harms the students, community, culture, and success of institutes of higher education (IHEs). The alarming prevalence of sexual harassment at IHEs highlights the urgent need for effective prevention programs. However, there are few empirically supported preventive interventions that effectively target the factors that most impact the determinants, trajectory, and short- and intermediate-term effects of sexual harassment. In this paper, we overview the problem of sexual harassment and propose an organizing framework to help IHEs develop effective interventions to prevent sexual harassment. Guided by prevention science, we propose a framework-modified from SAMHSA's (2019) guidelines for prevention practitioners-that underscores the criticality of trauma- and equity-informed characteristics in prevention programs. We offer a discussion on how IHEs must consider and evaluate the empirical evidence of effectiveness, flexibility, cultural competency, and sustainability when developing and adapting prevention programs to reduce and-ultimately-ameliorate sexual harassment. We conclude with recommendations that can provide a roadmap for higher education stakeholders and researchers to prevent this urgent public health concern.

Continuing medical education (CME) program development and needs assessment have historically been practiced within the tradition of Ralph Tyler's education model. In light of transformational social, political, economic, and technical forces that demand greater account-ability and responsiveness from physicians, CME units are challenged to transform their cultures and structures from models that deliver education to models that support the facilitation of learning for enhanced competence and performance. This article describes key change forces for physicians and brings program development and needs assessment into focus for the discussion. The impact of change forces on program development and needs assessment are examined, and some techniques to move beyond the traditional approach of felt needs are presented as a way of enabling strategic administrative planning and change management.

Urinary incontinence (UI) is a disorder receiving little attention from clinical health psychologists. This paper establishes the importance of addressing the issue of UI within the clinical and research practices of clinical health psychologists. Over 10 million Americans suffer from loss of bladder control. Incontinence affects over half of older individuals in long-term care institutions, about one-third of hospitalized elderly, and up to 30% of Americans over the age of 60 living at home. Because of social stigma and misconceptions attached to urinary incontinence, it is estimated that less than half of those affected see a physician about their condition. Since UI is generally associated with medical social, psychological, and economic consequences, a multidisciplinary perspective is important because these factors are integral in the selection of appropriate treatment. Definitions of UI, its incidence and costs, and brief reviews of treatment and management techniques are presented. Psychological sequelae and treatments are presented as a foundation for developing further treatment and research approaches. Guidelines for collaboration and consultation by clinical health psychologists with medical professionals in the area of UI are also discussed.

Purpose of the ReviewThe increasing prevalence of orthopedic procedures, such as knee and hip replacements, underscores the critical need for comprehensive orthopedic anesthesia training within anesthesiology residency programs. This review aims to present a structured framework for the development of orthopedic anesthesia education, utilizing Kern's Six-Step *** FindingsThe review highlights the multifaceted challenges in orthopedic anesthesia education, including the variability in patient demographics, the complexity of surgical procedures, and the need for multidisciplinary collaboration. Advances in educational strategies, such as simulation-based training, including the use of high-fidelity manikins, virtual reality, augmented reality, and cadaver-based workshops, have shown promise in enhancing the skills and confidence of anesthesiology residents. Furthermore, the integration of Entrustable Professional Activities and competency-based milestones into residency curricula is gaining traction *** structured development of orthopedic anesthesia training programs is essential to equip anesthesiology residents with the skills needed to address the complexities of modern orthopedic surgeries. By applying Kern's Six-Step Approach, training programs can systematically identify educational needs, set clear goals and objectives, implement effective teaching strategies, and rigorously evaluate outcomes. Emphasizing simulation-based training, the review underscores the importance of continuous adaptation to technological advancements and educational innovations. A robust program evaluation is crucial for assessing the effectiveness of these programs and ensuring that residents are well-prepared to deliver high-quality anesthesia care in orthopedic settings.

Health policies and programs are increasingly being driven by people from the community to more effectively address their needs. While a large body of evidence supports peer engagement in the context of policy and program development for various populations, little is known about this form of engagement among people who use drugs (PWUD). Therefore, a narrative literature review was undertaken to provide an overview of this topic. Searches of PubMed and Academic Search Premier databases covering 1995-2010 were conducted to identify articles assessing peer engagement in policy and program development. In total, 19 articles were included for review. Our findings indicate that PWUD face many challenges that restrict their ability to engage with public health professionals and policy makers, including the high levels of stigma and discrimination that persist among this population. Although the literature shows that many international organizations are recommending the involvement of PWUD in policy and program development, our findings revealed a lack of published data on the implementation of these efforts. Gaps in the current evidence highlight the need for additional research to explore and document the engagement of PWUD in the areas of policy and program development. Further, efforts to minimize stigmatizing barriers associated with illicit drug use are urgently needed to improve the engagement of PWUD in decision making processes.

The aircraft manufacturers are constantly driving to reduce manufacturing lead times and cost at the same time as the product complexity increases and technology continues to change. As avionics systems have evolved, particularly over the past two or three decades, the level of functional integration has increased dramatically. Integrated modular avionics (IMA) is a solution that allows the aviation industry to manage their avionics complexity. IMA defines an integrated system architecture that preserves the fault containment and `separation of concerns' properties of the federated architectures, where independent functional chains share a common computing resource. In software side, the air transport industry has developed ARINC 653 specification as a standardized real time operating system (RTOS) interface definition for IMA. It allows hosting multiple applications of different software levels with partitions on the same hardware in the context of IMA architecture. The primary components of the ARINC 653 are core and applications software. This paper describes a study that assessed the feasibility of developing an ARINC 653 based operational flight program (OFP) prototype and will provide valuable lessons learned through OFP development. The OFP architecture consists of two distinct modules: a core that interfaces and monitors the hardware and provides a standard and common environment for software applications; and an application module that performs the avionics functions. The prototype OFP is being integrated with the FA-50 simulator at the avionics laboratory of Korea Aerospace Industries.
