An Investigation of pso algorithm-Based Back Analysis on the Three-Dimensional Seepage Characteristics of an Earth Dam

In view of the problem of seepage safety and the character of dangerous reservoir earth dam, the 3D seepage of FEM back analysis was studied. Based on a reservoir project, the rationality of prototype observation data in recent years is analyzed, and the effective monitoring point and its observation data are selected for back analysis. The simulation calculation model is built, and the permeability coefficient of key materials and seepage characteristics of calculation area of earth dam are obtained after using particle swarm optimization (pso) algorithm as the inversion algorithm and using FEM as the seepage field algorithm method of improved nodal virtual flux. The results shows that the pso, which has high efficiency with back analyzing the permeability coefficient of materials in the dam and satisfactory accuracy, can meet the requirements of engineering, and a large seepage gradient in overflow point and boundary of earth dam, which is unfavorable for dam seepage stability, is produced when the problem of contact erosion is also existed in connection part of earth dam section and masonry dam section.

Pattern synthesize of conformal array antennas is often a challenging problem. Various optimization algorithms such as genetic, particle swarm optimization (pso), and invasive weed optimization have already been used for pattern synthesizing of conformal arrays. In this paper, a focused beam is synthesized for a quarter cylindrical conformal array antenna using the pso algorithm with small computations. The desired pattern is a focused beam at theta = 90 degrees and phi = 45 degrees with 10 degrees beamwidth in elevation and 15 degrees beamwidth in azimuth with -20 dB side-lobe level. This method can be used in general for synthesizing arbitrary desired patterns and array geometries.

Design and Optimization of Dual-Band Energy-Efficient OOK UWB Transmitter Via pso algorithm

A CMOS ON-OFF-keying 3-10.6-GHz transmitter with low power consumption and low complexity used to Impulse Radio Ultra-Wide Band (IR-UWB) communication system is presented in this work. This architecture is designed and optimized via particle swarm optimization (pso) algorithm. The IR-UWB transmitter is adapted to generate a high bandwidth frequency and it has a band switching capability. It consists of a switching inductance-capacitance voltage-controlled oscillator (LC VCO), a pulse generator circuit, an injection-locked frequency divider (ILFD) circuit, a buffer and an antenna. The VCO is switched ON/OFF by the pulse signal produced by a generator circuit which is realized through synchronizing the received data by a clock signal. The used technique for transmitting a discontinuous signal is based on a complementary switch-mode ON-OFF LC VCO, whose main advantage is to reduce power consumption. In this work, a best agreement between the results of the optimization technique and those of the simulation is obtained. The simulated results illustrate a signal of pulse width of 2.5 ns and a pulse repetition rate (PRR) of 200 MHz. The output spectra are centered at 4-GHz and 8-GHz frequencies with 1,332-MHz and 1,350-MHz bandwidths, respectively. The peak-to-peak amplitude of a UWB signal output is 154 mV. The IRUWB transmitter power consumption is 11.4mW which corresponds to the consumption energy of 28.5 pJ/pulse @ 200 MHz. The power spectral densities (PSDs) of the output signals of both circuits viz. ON-OFF LC VCO and ILFD are less than -41.3dBm/MHz, which agreed well with the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) regulation. The transmitter design is well implemented using a TSMC 0.18-mu m CMOS process technology in an Advanced Design System (ADS).

Association rule mining is one of the most important and active research areas in data mining. In the literature, several association rule miners have been proposed;among them, those based on particle swarm optimization (pso) have reported the best results. However, these algorithms tend to prematurely fall into local solutions, avoiding a wide exploration that could produce even better results. In this paper, an algorithm based on pso, called pso-GES, for mining association rules using a Guided Exploration Strategy is introduced. Our experiments, over real-world transactional databases, show that our proposed algorithm mines better quality association rules than the most recent pso-based algorithms for mining association rules of the state of the art. Amazons is one of the complete information games. The win rate of searching algorithm based on game tree is closely related to the evaluation function. Accurate evaluation can not only greatly improve the win rate, but also improve the searching efficiency to some extent. Based on a variety of pruning optimization algorithms, pso algorithm is applied to Amazons. Combined with UCT algorithm, Amazons evaluation optimization strategy is proposed. The effectiveness and feasibility of the algorithm are validated by experiments, and ultimately the win rate and searching efficiency are effectively improved.

Design of self-biased folded cascode CMOS op-amp using pso algorithm for low-power applications

Static power dissipation is one of the most important problems that impedes the progress of electronic circuits so it must be reduced. Complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) op-amp using self-biased technique is designed and improved to be less consumption power. Moreover, particle swarm optimisation (pso) algorithm is used in this article to deal with Static power dissipation. The use of pso algorithm led to reduce static power dissipation of self-biased folded cascode CMOS op-amp from 0.86 to 0.485 mW keeping the efficiency of optimised op-amp. In addition, some of performance parameters are optimised too, such as voltage gain of operational amplifier (Av), unity gain bandwidth GB and reduction of the chip area. The PSPICE simulation results using 0.35 µm MIETECH CMOS technology shows that an open loop gain of the proposed CMOS op-amp of 82 dB based on pso algorithm, while it produces 79.53 dB without pso algorithm and unity gain bandwidth is increased to 8.8 MHz with pso compared with 6.72 MHz without pso algorithm. © 2018, © 2018 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

For a dulcimer music robot that strikes a dulcimer,fast and high-frequency striking is a key requirement,so the time optimization of the trajectory planning of the robot arm is the first problem to be solved in motion *** this paper,the kinematics modeling and solving are firstly completed by using the D-H parameter *** the steps of trajectory planning by interpolation and the application of basic pso algorithm are *** for the deficiency of only velocity constraint,we propose an improve pso algorithm considering complete kinematic constraints of all joints,which can ensure that the optimal trajectory planned is ***,the simulation experiments of time optimization and trajectory planning are carried out in *** show that after optimizing the interpolation time by the improved pso algorithm under the kinematic constraints,the total time of trajectory planning of the robot is greatly reduced by 74.35%;and the planned time-optimal trajectory curves are continuous and smooth,which meets the requirements of motion stability of the *** a result,the efficiency of the improved pso algorithm applied to timeoptimal trajectory planning of robot is verified.

Hybrid pso-ANN algorithm to control TCR for voltage balancing

Voltage unbalance is an important power quality issue, which occurs in electrical power systems (EPSs) and causes severe problems for them. In this work, a general mathematical model for EPS including its long transmission line is developed using the generalised circuit parameters method. Then, a hybrid Particle Swarm Optimisation-Artificial Neural Network (pso-ANN) algorithm is proposed to overcome the voltage unbalance problem by controlling the firing angles of thyristor-controlled reactor (TCR) which varies the amount of reactive power at the load side. pso algorithm is responsible for determining the optimal set of TCR firing angles required to retrieve the balance conditions in offline mode for different load changes, employing the developed mathematical model of the EPS. Then, a dataset is taken as training samples for the ANN to be used in online mode. Aqaba Qatranah South-Amman (AQSA) EPS is considered as a real case study and simulated in MATLAB environment to validate the proposed algorithm. The simulation results are compared with other ANN algorithms available in the literature. Finally, a laboratory prototype is built for AQSA EPS including its long transmission line to test the proposed hybrid pso-ANN algorithm for real unbalance conditions acquired from the laboratory prototype.

In order to solve the problem of interaction between multiple evaluation indexes of seed metering performance under multiple factors of centralized seed feeding device,a multi-objective optimization of structure based on particle swarm optimization(pso)algorithm was proposed in this *** wheat centralized seed feeding device was taken as the research object,and the experimental factors were cone angle of type hole,working speed and seed filling *** working process of wheat centralized seed feeding device was simulated by discrete element method(DEM).The average seed number of type hole,the variation coefficient of the average seed number of type hole,and the maximum tangential force between seed and seed feeding mechanism were selected as the evaluation *** the variance analysis of the evaluation indexes by the experimental factors,the optimization objective function was *** pso algorithm,the multi-objective optimization was carried out for the wheat centralized seed feeding *** optimization results show that the best structural combination parameters of the wheat centralized seed feeding device are the hole cone angle of 31.6°and the seed filling gap of 4.6 *** validity of the method was verified by simulation and field *** results show that the pso algorithm multi-objective optimization method proposed in this paper can provide a reference for the structural improvement and optimal design of the centralized seed feeding device.

Online communities will provide the trustworthiness of their services and also, recommendation systems to improve the commercial value in this competitive business world. Prediction is the greatest method to get people interested whatever offered. Traditional QoS based prediction approach, predicts the QoS value of web service when the incompletion QoS records. This proposed approach introduced cluster based pso algorithm, which provides better scalability, simplicity, and efficiency. It uses the density-based clusters based on web service users' location and ranks the web services based on pso algorithm. Here, top-K users are selecting based on web service preferences and weights are giving for experienced neighbors. To achieve the high-quality outcome of the ranking sequence by the control of fitness function and verified by AP correlation coefficient method. The experimental results discussed how this proposed approach provided better prediction accuracy and compared with other existing approaches.
