Online communities will provide the trustworthiness of their services and also, recommendation systems to improve the commercial value in this competitive business world. Prediction is the greatest method to get people interested whatever offered. Traditional QoS based prediction approach, predicts the QoS value of web service when the incompletion QoS records. This proposed approach introduced cluster based pso algorithm, which provides better scalability, simplicity, and efficiency. It uses the density-based clusters based on web service users' location and ranks the web services based on pso algorithm. Here, top-K users are selecting based on web service preferences and weights are giving for experienced neighbors. To achieve the high-quality outcome of the ranking sequence by the control of fitness function and verified by AP correlation coefficient method. The experimental results discussed how this proposed approach provided better prediction accuracy and compared with other existing approaches.

A Modified pso algorithm for IIR Digital Filter Modeling

Modeling for an unknown plant is a very important and primary task in the control system engineering. By using this established model, an adequate controller can be further designed to meet certain control specifications. This paper will propose a new modeling method which is based on the infinite impulse response (IIR) digita filter structure. A modified particle swarm optimization (pso) with multiple subpopulations is utilized to solve for the IIR filter coefficients to model an unknown digital system. The developed pso algorithm is able to overcome the multimodal error surface problem that often occurs in the system modeling of IIR digital filter. Finally, three different kinds of digital systems are examined to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method, including the same system order and reduced order structures. It is concluded from several simulation results that the proposed method has an excellent performance on solving the IIR digital modeling problem.

Optimal sizing and siting of renewable energy resources in distribution systems considering time varying electrical/heating/cooling loads using pso algorithm

Distributed Generation (DG) sources based on Renewable Energy (RE) can be the fastest growing power resources in distribution systems due to their environmental friendliness and also the limited sources of fossil fuels. In general, the optimal location and size of DG units have profoundly impacted on the system losses in a distribution network. In the present article, the Particle Swarm Optimization (pso) algorithm is employed to find the optimal location and size of DG units in a distribution system. The optimal location and size of DG units are determined on the basis of a multi-objective strategy as follows: (i) the minimization of network power losses, (ii) the minimization of the total costs of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), (iii) the improvement of voltage stability, and (iv) the minimization of greenhouse gas emissions. The related distribution system was assumed to be composed of the fuel cells, wind turbines, photovoltaic arrays, and battery storages. The electrical, cooling, and heating loads were also considered in this article. The heating and cooling requirements of the system consist of time varying water heating load, space heating load, and space cooling load. In this study, the waste and fuel cell were used to produce the required heating and cooling loads in the distribution system. In addition, the absorption chiller was used to supply the required space cooling loads. A detailed performance analysis was carried out on 13 bus radial distribution system to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

Optimization of characteristics of an array of thin fins using pso algorithm in confined cavities heated from a side with free convection

In this paper, optimal characteristics of very conductive thin fins in the confined cavity are obtained. Free convection is dominant mode of heat transfer in the cavity, and the conductive fins are attached to the vertical hot wall of the cavity. Continuity, momentum and energy equations are discretized by finite volumes, and are solved by the finite volume method through the SIMPLER approach. pso algorithm is used for optimization problem, where a pair of coordinates (x, y) is selected for each fin such that y is the position of each fin and x is its size. The fins are attached on the vertical hot wall of the cavity coincide with grids of a domain. This work is performed by a subprogram. For modeling of very conductive thin fins, diffusion coefficients in momentum and energy equations are taken as infinity. pso algorithm is applied to obtain characteristics of an array of thin fins. Results obtained from pso algorithm are compared with reference values. Results obtained from the present work show that this method is able to obtain characteristics, of thin fins on the vertical hot wall. Results obtained from pso algorithm show that an array of very conductive thin fins decreases heat transfer from a cavity with high Rayleigh number (Ra =10(7)). (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd. An improved pso algorithm for parameter identification of nonlinear dynamic hysteretic models

The nonlinear dynamic hysteretic models used in nonlinear dynamic analysis contain generally lots of model parameters which need to be identified accurately and effectively. The accuracy and effectiveness of identification depend generally on the complexity of model, number of model parameters and proximity of initial values of the parameters. The particle swarm optimization (pso) algorithm has the random searching ability and has been widely applied to the parameter identification in the nonlinear dynamic hysteretic models. However, the pso algorithm may get trapped in the local optimum and appear the premature convergence not to obtain the real optimum results. In this paper, an improved pso algorithm for identifying parameters of nonlinear dynamic hysteretic models has been presented by defining a fitness function for hysteretic model. The improved pso algorithm can enhance the global searching ability and avoid to appear the premature convergence of the conventional pso algorithm, and has been applied to identify the parameters of two nonlinear dynamic hysteretic models which are the Leishman-Beddoes (LB) dynamic stall model of rotor blade and the anelastic displacement fields (ADF) model of elastomeric damper which can be used as the lead-lag damper in rotor. The accuracy and effectiveness of the improved pso algorithm for identifying parameters of the LB model and the ADF model are validated by comparing the identified results with test results. The investigations have indicated that in order to reduce the influence of randomness caused by using the pso algorithm on the accuracy of identified parameters, it is an effective method to increase the number of repeated identifications. A modified pso algorithm for linear optimization problem subject to the generalized fuzzy relational inequalities with fuzzy constraints (FRI-FC)

In this paper, optimization of a linear objective function subject to a generalized fuzzy relational inequalities is investigated in which an arbitrary continuous t-norm is considered as fuzzy composition, and fuzzy inequality replaces ordinary inequality in the constraints. Unlike most optimization algorithms, in fuzzy relational inequalities with fuzzy constraints (FRI-FC) we find a near-feasible solution having a better objective value than those resulting from the resolution of the similar problems with crisp (ordinary) inequality constraints. Such solutions are called super-optima in this paper. Subsequently, an algorithm is proposed to find a super-optimum with pre-specified desirable infeasibility. For this purpose, we firstly study some structural properties of the FRI-FC problem and present a new formulization that is independent of t-norms used in the constraints of the problem. This new formulation converts the primary problem into an equivalent problem with simple constraints without considering any penalty parameters. However, it is proved that the transformed equivalent problem enables our algorithm to distinguish unfavorable points and generate a sequence of solutions converging to a super-optimum under a certain sufficient condition. Finally, a modified pso is presented in which the ability of pso to solve unconstrained problems with continuous domain, the structure of the transformed problem and some fuzzy structural modifications are combined and form an efficient algorithm to solve the generalized FRI-FC problems. The modified pso algorithm has been applied to the generalized FRI-FC problem defined with ten well-known continuous t-norms. Additionally, an idea of the FRI-FC problems as outer approximators for FRI problems with ordinary inequalities is also investigated. (C) 2017 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

This paper proposed a novel hybrid optimization algorithm, particle swarm optimization-artificial bee colony (pso-ABC), based on the pso and ABC algorithms. The ABC algorithm can offset defects in the pso algorithm that easily fall into a local optimization;combining the algorithms can improve the optimization ability of the pso algorithm to a certain extent. Therefore, this paper applied the pso-ABC hybrid algorithm and the finite-element method to systematically optimize the mechanical performance of the disc rotor of a bike and verified the numerical computation model via the wireless sensor network technology. The experimental test was completed with wireless sensor network technologies. To verify the optimized effects of the proposed pso-ABC hybrid algorithm after parameter selection, the algorithm was compared with the traditional pso and ABC models. The pso, ABC, and pso-ABC models adopted the same population to conduct a multi-objective optimization for vibration accelerations of the disc rotor. Comparing the results from these models proved that the proposed pso-ABC method is superior for the optimization of vibration characteristics of the disc rotors.

A high performance wideband quad-ridged flared horn (QRFH) feed has been designed which operates from 3.9 -15.3 GHz. In order to find the balance between spillover efficiency and aperture efficiency to ensure the high sensitivity, spline-profiled ridges and horn have been optimized with the help of particle swarm optimization (pso) algorithm. Through computation and optimization, the average sensitivity of the QRFH is greater than 4.6 m 2 /K, the average aperture efficiency is more than 65% and the return losses of two port are greater than 14 dB within the working frequency band.

Numerical Investigation on the Transmission Loss of Skin Panels Based on the Intelligent pso-CGA algorithm

In the reported research, they only analyzed the impacts of restraint damping parameters on acoustic characteristics of skin panels, but failed to adopt advanced optimization algorithms to conduct an optimization design on restraint damping effects. In addition, they did not conduct further research on noises in cabins with skin panels as the basis. Aiming at these questions, according to the acoustic model and the pso-CGA algorithm, the acoustic characteristics of the skin panel were conducted a multi-objective optimization, and a better structure with low noise and light weight was finally obtained. The computational model was also validated by its experimental test. In order to verify the effectiveness of the pso-CGA algorithm after parameter selection, it was compared with the traditional CGA and pso algorithm. Three kinds of algorithms adopted the same population to conduct a multi-objective optimization of transmission loss of skin panels. Optimized results showed that: the pso-CGA model in the paper had a high clustering degree. Transmission loss of most iteration points was obviously more than those of other two kinds of algorithms. Noises in the cabin could be improved effectively.
