Amylum Resistive Random Access Memory Based on the quantization effect of Gold Nanoparticles

Resistive random access memory (RRAM) is integrated computing and storage, but most devices have problems, such as high power consumption and poor consistency, so it is critical to optimize the performance of the device. In this paper, amylum RRAM is prepared by using the quantization effect of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs), which not only improves the consistency of the threshold voltage distribution of the device but also reduces the power consumption of the device and significantly increases the ON/OFF current ratio of the device. This work not only realized multilevel data storage (4 levels, 2 bits) on the same unit, improving the storage density of starch RRAM, but also simulated the synaptic potentiation and depression behavior, providing a way of thinking for the next generation of artificial intelligence and brain-like neural computing.

This paper deals with the H-infinity finite-horizon filtering for discrete piecewise linear systems with infinite distributed delays and quantization effect. The modes and their transitions of augmented piecewise linear systems are formulated. The quantisation phenomenon is described by the logarithmic function and the time delays are assumed to be randomly occurred and infinitely distributed in the discrete-time domain. Attention in this paper is focused on the design of a H-infinity filter such that, for the quantisation phenomenon and randomly occurred time delays, the H-infinity performance of the augmented dynamic system is guaranteed with a prescribed attenuation level gamma. Such a technique relies on the forward solution to a set of recursive linear matrix inequalities. It is worth mentioning that, in the filtering process, the information of both the current measurement and the previous state estimate is employed to estimate the current state. Finally, a simulation example is exploited to show the effectiveness of the method proposed in this paper.

This brief studies the issue of non-fragile set-membership filtering for two-dimensional systems with uniform quantization and communication constraint. The signal transmission is adjusted by using the weighted try-once-discard (WTOD) protocol to lessen the communication burdens and increase the data scheduling flexibility. The main objective of this brief is to design a non-fragile set-membership filter for the addressed system such that, in the presence of the uniform quantization and the WTOD protocol, the filtering error is restricted to certain ellipsoidal region. A sufficient condition for the existence of the desired set-membership filter is given in the form of a set of recursive matrix inequalities. Subsequently, an optimisation problem subject to certain inequality constraint is presented to obtain the local minimum ellipsoid in the sense of matrix trace. Finally, effectiveness of this filtering strategy is checked by a numerical example.

This paper is concerned with the data-driven control problem for a networked systems with try-once-discard (TOD) protocol and quantization effect. To begin with, we establish a data-based input-output model based on the data collected in a prior experiment. A so-called TOD protocol is adopted to schedule the measurement data of sensors for the purpose of avoiding data collisions, under which only one sensor is permitted to access to the network at each transmission instant. In addition, the measurement data would be quantized before transimission. The objective of this paper is to present a design for an output-feedback controller such that the system output is exponentially ultimately bounded. By utilizing linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), a sufficient condition is guaranteed for the design of the controller. Finally, a numerical simulation is provided to illustrate the effectiveness and validity of the proposed control strategy.

This brief is devoted to protocol-based control method design for semi-Markov switching systems with dynamic quantization. Essential different from the semi-Markov process with arbitrary switchings, by proposing a novel semi-Markov process subjected to a deterministic switching signal, a generalized framework of semi-Markov switching systems is set up. With respect to the quantization range of the dynamic quantizer, an improved event-triggered protocol associated with the quantizer parameter is proposed. On account of mode-dependent Lyapunov theory, sufficient conditions are established to ensure the stochastic finite-time boundedness of the resulting system. In the end, a tunnel diode circuit model shows the practicability and effectiveness of the presented method.

Distributed Filtering for Multi-Rate Nonlinear quantization Systems With Fading Channels and Sensor Resolutions: Handling Amplify-and-Forward Relays

This paper addresses the distributed recursive filtering problem for a class of time-varying multi-rate nonlinear systems which are subject to fading channels, sensor resolutions and quantization effects. For the purpose of prolonging the transmission distance, the amplify-and-forward (AaF) relay is deployed in the wireless communication channel. The iterative method is employed to convert the underlying multi-rate system into a single-rate one. Before entering communication network for transmission, measurement outputs are quantized using a logarithmic quantizer. Moreover, a new equivalent delay-free measurement sequence is defined by the measurement reorganization technology to tackle random transmission delays. Our main aim is to design a distributed recursive filter such that an upper bound for the filtering error covariance is determined and subsequently minimized by properly choosing the filtering gains. Next, the performance of the proposed filtering algorithm is analyzed through establishing a sufficient condition for the boundedness of the filtering error covariance. Finally, a numerical simulation is used to testify the applicability and effectiveness of the developed filtering algorithm. © 2025 IEEE.

This article concentrates on the nonstationary control for a class of nonlinear Markovian switching systems (MSSs) with the Tagaki-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. By adopting variable quantization density, a more general type of T-S fuzzy MSSs is established, in which the varies performance demands can be satisfied in a more flexible way. The major benefit of the developed method lies that a multiple hierarchical structure strategy is developed concerning nonsynchronization among the original system, controller, and quantizer, which covers the reported asynchronous/synchronous mechanisms as special cases. On the basis of fuzzy-basis-dependent and mode-dependent Lyapunov function, some sufficient conditions are derived and controller gains are designed. Finally, the feasibility of the achieved result is verified by a practical example.

In this paper, the particle filter problem is investigated for a class of nonlinear systems with communication constraints. The communication between sensor and remote filter is subject to uniform quantization effects. Moreover, in order to solve the problem of limited network capacity, the Round-Robin protocol is introduced in this paper, which can effectively avoid communication conflicts and reduce packet loss. Through mathematical hypothesis and stochastic analysis, an explicit expression of likelihood function combined with the probability information of networked phenomenon is established under the recursive Bayesian estimation framework. A novel particle filter algorithm is proposed for nonlinear state estimation in the simultaneous presence of uniform quantization and Round-Robin protocol. Finally, a simulation example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed particle filtering method.

In this paper, we discuss quantization effects in rigid formation control systems when target formations are described by interagent distances. Because of practical sensing and measurement constraints, we consider in this paper distance measurements in their quantized forms. We show that under gradient-based formation control, in the case of uniform quantization, the distance errors converge locally to a bounded set whose size depends on the quantization error, while in the case of logarithmic quantization, all distance errors converge locally to zero. A special quantizer involving the signum function is then considered with which all agents can only measure coarse distances in terms of binary information. In this case, the formation converges locally to a target formation within a finite time. Lastly, we discuss the effect of asymmetric uniform quantization on rigid formation control.
