An effective way to solve the problem of wind power curtailment is to install heat storage (HS) facilities in CHP plants. However, the existing power grid does not have the ability to schedule the heat storage facilities. In this paper, we have developed the combined heat and power dispatching system to schedule the power plants as well as the heat storage facilities for the maximum effect of wind power accommodation. The results show that cooperating with the existing scheduling system, the combined heat and power dispatching system has fine-tuned the initial schedules with the adjustment of the heat storage facilities to achieve the desired effect of improving the wind power consumption. Meanwhile, the maximum heat storage amount of the HS facility that limits the capacity of increasing wind power accommodation. What's more, the capacity can be affected when the heat load varies seasonally owing to the external characteristics of the CHP unit.

As a result of increasing in diversity and complexity, real-time embedded systems have to deal with both periodic and aperiodic tasks. In such systems, it is expected that response time of aperiodic tasks is as short as possible. Total Bandwidth Server (TBS) is one of effective task scheduling algorithms for a mixture of periodic and aperiodic tasks. As a successor to TBS, Adaptive TBS (ATBS) is an algorithm where TBS is enhanced with prediction of execution times. Virtual release advancing (VRA) is an additional technique for TBS to shorten response time of tasks and Enhanced VRA (EVRA) is the extended version of VRA with lightweight complexity. In this paper, combination of ATBS and EVRA is examined to further improve the responsiveness of TBS. Simulation results show that the combination can reduce response times by up to 25% compared with TBS under heavy loads, while maintaining the schedulability and relatively low time complexity of the system.

In this paper, we investigate the effect of user scheduling and transmit power control on trade-off between spectral efficiency and energy efficiency in multi-cell uplink networks. We assume that each user adaptively controls the transmit power according to its generating interference to other cell base stations (BSs) and each BS schedules the user having the largest effective channel gain among users in a cell. The users transmit data with the peak power, Pmax, if the generating interference to other cell BSs is smaller than a particular threshold, With the joint interference-aware power control (IAPC) and user scheduling, the trade-off between spectral efficiency and energy efficiency becomes significantly improved as the number of users in each cell increased, compared with the conventional maximum signal-to-noise ratio (maxSNR) user scheduling and minimum interference-to-noise ratio (minINR) user scheduling. In addition, the power consumption becomes significantly reduced with the IAPC and user scheduling for a given spectral efficiency.

In wireless network system the resources are limited. Therefore, managing resources is considered as a challenging task. The resource are distributed among attached UEs, so allocating resources needs to be well controlled. Packet scheduler in LTE network is responsible for assigning resources to attached UEs. Also, femtocell network is considered as promising solution for poor channel in indoor environment. Femtocell deployment within macrocell (traditional base station) would increase the capacity of the cell. Therefore, incubating robust Packet Scheduler scheme within femtocell would deliver better capacity. In this work Packet Scheduler scheme is proposed. It performs with consideration of maximizing the capacity as well as preserving the fairness among UEs. A simulation is conducted in order to evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme. The result shows that it outperforms well-known PF scheduler in terms of cell aggregated throughput and average throughput of UEs.
