An effective approach to the simulation of crack-type fracture is developed based on the semi-analytical finiteelementmethod. Algorithms for determining the parameters of fracture strength for elastic bodies of revolution and prismatic bodies under non-stationary force loading of different intensity and duration are proposed. The energy approach based on the application of a special prismatic and ring finiteelements with crack under dynamic loading are used to calculate the fracture parameters. The efficiency of the algorithms is estimated.

A technique for solving problems of nonlinear continuum mechanics associated with contact interaction, plastic distortion, and continuous and discrete fracture of spatial bodies is developed based on the semianalytic finite-element method generalized to noncanonical bodies. Solutions are obtained to new applied problems in various branches of technology. Compared with the traditional FEM, the technique is highly efficient-the amount of computation needed to solve spatial problems reduces by several orders of magnitude.

The semianalytic finite-element method is used to develop a method for solving problems of creep and continuous fracture of complex spatial bodies. The method allows modeling the variation of the stress-strain state during creep, accompanying accumulation of dispersed microdamages, and development of macroscopic effects-continuous fracture process zones. The growth of a continuous fracture process zone is modeled. A criterion is formulated for determination of the applicability limits of continuum damage mechanics. The method is exemplified by the problem of deformation and continuous fracture of a gas turbine blade.

A procedure for numerical investigation of nonaxisymmetric temperature fields and the elastic stress-strain state of laminated rotational bodies of cylindrically and rectilinearly orthotropic materials under nonisothermal loading is proposed. The deformation of orthotropic materials is described by the equations of anisotropic elasticity theory. The equations of state are written in the form of Hooke's law for homogeneous materials, with additional terms which take into account the thermal deformation, changes in the mechanical properties of materials in the circumferential direction, and their dependence on temperature. A semianalytic finite-element method in combination with the method of successive approximations is used. An algorithm for numerical solution of the corresponding nonlinear boundary problem is, elaborated, which is realized as a package of applied FORTRAN programs. Some numerical results are presented.
