Various electromagnetic signals are excited by the beam in the acceleration and beam-diagnostic elements of a particle *** is important to obtain time-domain waveforms of these signals with high temporal resolution for research,such as the study of beam–cavity interactions and bunch-by-bunch parameter ***,a signal reconstruction algorithm with ultrahigh spatiotemporal resolution and bunch phase compensation based on equivalent sampling is proposed in this *** with traditional equivalent sampling,the use of phase compensation and setting the bunch signal zero-crossing point as the time reference can construct a more accurate reconstructed *** basic principles of the method,simulation,and experimental comparison are also *** on the beam test platform of the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility(SSRF)and the method of experimental verification,the factors that affect the reconstructed signal quality are analyzed and discussed,including the depth of the sampled data,quantization noise of analog-to-digital converter,beam transverse oscillation,and longitudinal *** results of the beam experiments show that under the user operation conditions of the SSRF,a beam excitation signal with an amplitude uncertainty of 2%can be reconstructed.

The temperature on the busbars of electric generators in the end-winding region needs to be monitored continuously. High temperature is associated with curvatures, seams, and poor ventilation. However, this solution has limitations, such as the number of measurement points. This article presents a reconstruction algorithm to estimate high-resolution signals, from readings of a distributed temperature system for monitoring high-power generator bars. The purpose of this work is to measure the temperature in the end-winding region with optical sensors based on Raman distributed temperature sensing (RDTS). The ability of RDTS equipment to perform a measurement is limited by its spatial resolution of 1 m. The proposed algorithm reduces spatial resolution through signal processing without changing the equipment hardware. Through the experimental results, it was possible to perform accurate temperature measurements for lengths up to 15 cm using the sensor element. With this method, the final winding of a generator bar of a 355 MW hydroelectric plant was instrumented in the laboratory. The results show that it is possible to monitor the temperature over this region, which has a length of 45 cm. Therefore, the proposed method has the potential for the use of RDTS systems for temperature acquisition of small, medium, and large electrical machines.

Technology scaling enables today the design of ultra-low power wearable bio-sensors for continuous vital signs monitoring or wellness applications. Such bio-sensing nodes are typically integrated in Wireless Body Sensor Network (WBSN) to acquire and process biomedical signals, e.g. Electrocardiogram (ECG), and transmit them to the WBSN gateway, e.g. smartphone, for online reconstruction or features extraction. Both bio-sensing node and gateway are battery powered devices, although they show very different autonomy requirements (weeks vs. days). The rakeness-based Compressed Sensing (CS) proved to outperform standard CS, achieving a higher compression for the same quality level, therefore reducing the transmission costs in the node. However, most of the research focus has been on the efficiency of the node, neglecting the energy cost of the CS decoder. In this work, we evaluate the energy cost and real-time reconstruction feasibility on the gateway, considering the FOCUSS signal reconstruction algorithm running on a heterogeneous mobile SoC based on the ARM big. LITTLE (TM) architecture. The experimental results show that standard CS does not satisfy real-time constraints, while the rakeness enables different QoS-energy trade-offs, achieving the most efficient real-time reconstruction on the Cortex-A7 @ 1.3 GHz for approximate to 0.2 J/window (for a target QoS of approximate to 23 dB), while the lowest CPU consumption is achieved with the Cortex-A15 @ 1.9 GHz.

Microsatellites have been developed with onboard equipments to monitor and detect early signs of natural disasters and man-caused destructing emergencies. Continuous-wave (CW) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system operates at constant low-peak transmission power which offers smaller size and lower cost, and this quality provides an appropriate option for microsatellites in remote-sensing fields that can work in all-weather conditions. However, using two antennas for sending and receiving signal separately will cost much more compared with a single antenna;in addition, it is difficult to achieve the antenna isolation if two separate antennas are used on one platform. Interrupted CW SAR (ICW SAR) uses a single antenna on a single microsatellite to share the signal transmitting and receiving in different time divisions. In this mode, the antenna is switched between sending operation and receiving operation to avoid the isolation problems and reduce the costs. Moreover, ICW SAR can also overcome the long-lasting problem that the range resolution of CW SAR is limited by the slant range of the farthest target of interest, which makes the CW SAR capable of long-distant sensing and detection for the first time. This makes CW SAR applications feasible in spaceborne remote-sensing fields. However, it will cause sparse aperture when the antenna is switched to sending mode. In this study, an approach is proposed to formulate the relationship of the contiguous ICW SAR data in one range bin based on CW SAR signal model in the two-dimensional time domain. A signal reconstruction algorithm using iteration method is proposed based on this relationship. Simulation experiments show that the proposed method works well to achieve satisfying results under spaceborne ICW SAR mode. Finally, the Wavenumber Domain algorithm (WDA) is used to focus on the reconstructed ICW SAR data, and the focusing quality of the image agrees well with the theoretical values.
