The design and performance prediction models of centrifugal-flow compressor are developed for Supercritical Carbon Dioxide (S-CO2) closed Brayton cycle system. The accuracy of models are verified by the experimental data of Sandia laboratory. The performance of an S-CO2 compressor at different mass flow rates and speeds is analyzed with the performance prediction models. The influences of number of blades, inlet and outlet angle of blade on performance of the compressor are also analyzed. The results indicate the directions to improve the efficiency of the compressor under design conditions are reducing the number of blades and inlet angle of blade, while increasing outlet angle of blade for present compressor. The performance of present compressor on normal condition was optimized with the simulated annealingalgorithm. Its calculated total isentropic efficiency is upped from 82.26% to 87.72% when the structural parameters was varied no more than 20%. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Duplicated loci, for example those associated with major histocompatibility complex (MHC) genes, often have similar DNA sequences that can be coamplified with a pair of primers. This results in genotyping difficulties and inaccurate analyses. Here, we present a method to assign alleles to different loci in amplifications of duplicated loci. This method simultaneously considers several factors that may each affect correct allele assignment. These are the sharing of identical alleles among loci, null alleles, copy number variation, negative amplification, heterozygote excess or heterozygote deficiency, and linkage disequilibrium. The possible multilocus genotypes are extracted from the alleles for each individual and weighted to estimate the allele frequencies. The likelihood of an allele configuration is calculated and is optimized with a heuristic algorithm. Monte-Carlo simulations and three empirical MHC data sets are used as examples to evaluate the efficacy of our method under different conditions. In tomographic statics seismic data processing, it 1s crucial to cletermme an optimum base for a near-surface model. In this paper, we consider near-surface model base determination as a global optimum problem. Given information from uphole shooting and the first-arrival times from a surface seismic survey, we present a near-surface velocity model construction method based on a Monte-Carlo sampling scheme using a layered equivalent medium assumption. Compared with traditional least-squares first-arrival tomography, this scheme can delineate a clearer, weathering-layer base, resulting in a better implementation of damming correction. Examples using synthetic and field data are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

In this paper, recent developments of some heuristic algorithms were discussed. The focus was laid on the improvements of ant-cycle (AC) algorithm based on the analysis of the performances of simulated annealing (SA) and AC for the traveling salesman problem (TSP). The Metropolis rules in SA were applied to AC and turned out an improved AC. The computational results obtained from the case study indicated that the improved AC algorithm has advantages over the sheer SA or unmixed AC.
