This paper aims to address the chattering problem of sliding mode variable structure control strategy for discrete-time singular systems, and explores soft variable structure control strategy under complete controllability. First, the strategy of soft variable structure control and the design method of dynamic soft variable structure controller are introduced. Then, the controller design problem is transformed into constructing a suitable selection function via Lyapunov method, and a new selection function is proposed for the designed controller. The optimized selection strategy function makes the system stable and satisfies the control input constraints. Finally, the algorithm of undetermined parameters in the proposed controller is given, which has certain guiding significance for practical applications.

This study focuses on the fixed-time synchronization problem of drive-response complex networks with time delay. Distinguish from most of previous works, a more practical complex network is introduced, whose nodes and dimension between drive-response system are different. To achieve fixed time synchronization of the network, a dynamic soft variable structure control with fixed-time strategy is proposed, aiming to achieve higher regulation rate and shorter settling time. Then, the stability of the controller is rigorously proven through mathematical analysis and numerical simulations validate the effectiveness of presented results.

In this paper, finite-time synchronization of two fractional order brushless DC motor (BLDC) systems with control constraints is investigated. First, a fractional-order BLDC model is proposed, a soft variable structure control scheme is introduced for the finite time synchronization of two fractional order chaotic systems with control constraints. Considering the constraints of the controller, the control parameters of the controller are limited by the soft variable structure method. The finite-time stability of the error systems is rigorously proven. Then, the controller is proposed for the finite-time synchronization of fractional-order brushless BLDC model systems with disturbances. Finally, numerical simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed strategy.

The finite-time projective synchronization of two fractional-order chaotic systems with control constraints is investigated in this study. A soft variable structure control scheme is first introduced for finite-time synchronization. A controller is then proposed for finite-time generalized projective synchronization. The finite-time stability of the error systems is rigorously proven. The control parameters of the controller are limited by the soft variable structure method considering the constraints of the controller. Finally, numerical simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed strategy and verify the theoretical results.

In this paper, soft variable structure control of fractional order systems is proposed for achieving high regulation rates and short settling times. Using the appropriate fractional order Lyapunov approach, a controller based on continuous fractional switch are designed to achieve high control performance. Due to the alleviation of chattering phenomenon soft VSC that is proposed for fractional order systems are quite useful in future for the practical systems.

soft variable structure control (VSC) for generalized systems is concerned in the paper. The structural features of soft VSC with differential equation, and some preliminaries for generalized systems are given. The generalized soft variable structure controller is designed, and the stability of generalized systems with soft VSC is proposed by an equivalent characterization. The concrete algorithm of soft VSC with differential equation is given. The soft variable structure controller for generalized systems was carried out for the purpose of intentionally decreasing chattering, achieving high regulation rate, and shorting reaching time. It is illustrated the feasibility of the proposed method by a numerical example on a submarine dive model, and an outlook on its further development is proposed.

The dynamic soft variable structure control (VSC) of singular systems is discussed in this paper. The definition of soft VSC and the design of its controller modes are given. The stability of singular systems with the dynamic soft VSC is proposed. The dynamic soft variable structure controller is designed, and the concrete algorithm on the dynamic soft VSC is given. The dynamic soft VSC of singular systems which was developed for the purpose of intentionally precluding chattering, achieving high regulation rates and shortening settling times enhanced the dynamic quality of the systems. A soft variable structure control (SVSC) strategy based on S-class functions is addressed in this paper. Firstly, the definition of SVSC strategy is given, the structure of SVSC system under constrained control input is analyzed, and S-class functions with smoothness, strict monotonicity, and saturation are presented. Secondly, the sufficient condition on the stability of SVSC system is obtained by Lyapunov stability theory. A soft variable structure controller based on S-class functions is developed aiming at optimizing the smoothness problem of the SVSC systems based on variable saturations, and the chattering problem of sliding mode control (SMC) systems. Then, the concrete algorithm on SVSC strategy based on sigmoid functions is obtained. Finally, a simulation example is carried out to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the SVSC strategy, and compared with SMC strategy, high regulation rate is achieved, settling time is shorted, and the system chattering can be reduced by the proposed strategy.
