Quantum computing is a growing field with significant potential applications. Learning how to code quantum programs means understanding how qubits work and learning to use quantum gates. This is analogous to creating classical algorithms using logic gates and bits. Even after learning all concepts, it is difficult to create new algorithms, which hinders the acceptance of quantum programming by most *** article outlines the need for higher-level abstractions and proposes some of them in a developer-friendly programming language called Rhyme. The new quantum types are extensions of classical types, including bits, integers, floats, characters, arrays, and strings. We show how to use such types with code *** CONCEPTS• software and its engineering → Imperative languages; • Computer systems organization → Quantum computing; • Hardware → Quantum computation.

This paper explores the potential of flash-Lidar for rotation motion estimation in deep space applications, particularly its capability to navigate and perform maneuvers around small-body asteroids. Building upon a model registration algorithm, we first employ a weighted and scaled Iterative Closest Point (ICP) algorithm to align the Lidar point cloud data with the target terrain model, enabling the calculation of the target's relative pose. Subsequently, we utilize rigid body dynamics theory to determine the absolute angular velocity and axis of rotation of the target. Through simulations, we assess the impact of varying angular velocity magnitudes and Lidar noise levels on the estimation of the target's rotational state. The findings indicate that the proposed approach effectively enhances motion estimation accuracy, paving the way for improved navigation in challenging deep space environments.

In China, BeiDou navigation satellite system is a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) which was developed by China only. The BeiDou receiver uses a pseudo range transmission for anti interference technology. However, the conventional anti interference technique leads to the deviation of GNSS receiver ranging score which was complex to the enhancement of higher precision ranging receiver. Therefore, this research proposes a Limit-Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno Quasi-Newton (LBFGS-QN) method for anti interference technology of BeiDou receiver. The LBFGS-QN improves the BeiDou receiver performance through optimization of efficient filtering interference functions which improving its navigation and communications. The LBFGS-QN improves the reception capacity for adjustment of signal processing parameter sets according to the interference pattern, guaranteeing signal stability at lesser Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). The LBFGS-QN method performance is calculated by the following metrics such as SNR, Bit Error Rate (BER), Mean Squared Error (MSE) and Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE). The LBFGS-QN achieves SNR of 16.0, BER of 0.0059, MSE of 0.010 and RMSE of 0.055 for the signal amplitude of 250 dB which is better than state-of-art algorithms.

Malaria is a dangerous infectious disease that kills a lot of people globally every day. It is typically diagnosed by trained personnel visually inspecting blood smears under a microscope for parasite-infected red blood cells. This method is ineffective, and the diagnosis is based solely on the examiner’s knowledge and experience. Malaria blood smears have previously been subjected to machine learning-based automatic image recognition techniques for diagnosis. However, performance in practice has been inadequate. As a result, for malaria prediction, the study used deep learning. With enhanced trust and transparency, the model makes decisions and it provides explanations for model predictions in a human-readable format. In addition, the study describes in detail dataset preprocessing, feature extraction, dataset preparation, development tools, and several assessment criteria. In turn, the VGG-19, ResNet-50, Inception V3, and EfficientNetB4 of Conventional Neural Network algorithm with transfer learning classified malaria as parasitized or uninfected by using Anaconda software. The first set of information was used from the online medical records of patients who fit the standard profile. Then, the study used 80% for training, and 10% for validation while the remaining 10% was used for testing within blood smear images the size of 224*224 pixels. In terms of model performance, ResNet50 has the best classification performance with an accuracy value of 94.37%; than EfficientNetB4, In-ceptionV3, and VGG-19. The Implement model used interpretability techniques LIME (Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations) to produce human readable explanations to enhance trust and transparency.

For CNC machining of a pocket, the selection of cutting tool set significantly affects the machining efficiency especially on rough machining. However, there is no selection module integrated in CAD/CAM software to consider this problem. This paper presents an effective method in selecting the optimal tool set for machining 2.5D pockets based on the main geometry information of the 2.5D pocket. The proposed algorithm focuses on several important factors such as machining time and cutting tool cost. The automatic selection module can yield a “near-optimal” the cutting tool set for 2.5D pocket machining from the specific cutting tool database. An example is presented to validate the uitility performmace, effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method.

Visual Place Recognition (VPR) in indoor environments is beneficial to humans and robots for better localization and navigation. It is challenging due to appearance changes at various frequencies, and difficulties of obtaining ground truth metric trajectories for training and evaluation. This paper introduces the NYC-Indoor-VPR dataset, a unique and rich collection of over 36,000 images compiled from 13 distinct crowded scenes in New York City taken under varying lighting conditions with appearance changes. Each scene has multiple revisits across a year. To establish the ground truth for VPR, we propose a semiautomatic annotation approach that computes the positional information of each image. Our method specifically takes pairs of videos as input and yields matched pairs of images along with their estimated relative locations. The accuracy of this matching is refined by human annotators, who utilize our annotation software to correlate the selected keyframes. Finally, we present a benchmark evaluation of several state-of-the-art VPR algorithms using our annotated dataset, revealing its challenge and thus value for VPR research.

A differential drive robot can follow trajectories that combine straight travel with in-place turning primitive with ease. In this study, a predetermined regular geometrical path composed of these primitives is presented, together with trajectory monitoring and control of differential drive robots. To steer the robot along various paths, a control algorithm was created. The algorithm receives input from the user via a user interface where the user can choose the trajectory type, the dimensions of the tracking speed and trajectory. To determine the course the robot tracked, simulations were run using commercial software MATLAB, Release 2010, is available. Tests were carried out to monitor regular paths, and the outcomes of these tests showed a strong correlation with the outcomes of the simulation.

The paper investigates the problem of passive target localization from a moving observer using bearing-only measurements. The following three estimation algorithms are considered: a recursive iterative extended Kalman smoother; a nonrecursive iterative batch linearized filter, and a recursive iterative batch linearized smoother. The accuracy and computational complexity of the recursive and nonrecursive algorithms are compared using the Monte Carlo simulation. The Cramer-Rao lower bound for the problem under consideration is calculated. The advantages of the recursive iterative batch linearized smoother over the nonrecursive iterative batch linearized filter and the recursive iterative extended Kalman smoother are shown.
