The Automatic Identification System (AIS), as a standard communication and navigation device for ships, plays a significant role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of maritime traffic. The accuracy of the AIS receiver’s signal processing directly affects the bit error rate (BER) and packet error rate (PER) of the AIS system, drawing considerable attention to AIS signal reception and processing technologies. Current research on AIS reception signals mainly focuses on custom implementations using hardware platforms like FPGAs; however, the high cost of hardware implementation has become a limiting factor in the development of AIS signal processing technologies. Therefore, this paper designs an AIS reception signal processing system based on GNU Radio, developing demodulation algorithm and NRZI decoding modules, and testing them with typical demodulation algorithms. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the designed reception signal processing system.

The increasing frequency and sophistication of cyberattacks necessitate a reevaluation of traditional password practices. This paper introduces DyMP-Gen (Dynamic Memorable Password Generation) Algorithm, a novel algorithm designed to enhance password security while prioritizing usability. DyMP-Gen allows users to generate strong, unique passwords that evolve over time, mitigating the risks associated with static, password reuse, and leaked passwords. By combining a user pre-selected static component with dynamically generated elements, a password based on current time and date is created. DyMP-Gen ensures that passwords are both memorable and resilient to cracking attempts. The algorithm’s simplicity and offline functionality further enhance its usability, eliminating the need for additional devices or software. Through its innovative approach, DyMP-Gen offers a promising solution to the pervasive challenges of password security.

The rise in the number and diversity of available software development video tutorials has enhanced digital learning for developers but also introduced challenges in locating relevant content efficiently. Existing video search methods, including keyword-based approaches and tools like CodeTube and TechTube, rely primarily on retrieval algorithms such as BM25, which fail to capture the semantic nuances and user intentions behind search queries. To address these limitations, we introduce ISM, an approach that uses SBERT to generate semantically rich vectors from video tutorial transcripts to improve the search for programming video tutorials. By segmenting transcripts and implementing a re-ranking process, ISM effectively preserves context and enhances the relevance of search results. Additionally, ISM generates informative video summaries using GPT-4, allowing developers to quickly assess the relevance of video content. To evaluate our approach, we first performed a quantitative study comparing ISM with the baseline TechTube. The results revealed that ISM performs better in both video retrieval and fragment identification, achieving a Hit@ 5 score of 0.95 and an average F1 score of 0.70 compared to the baseline’s 0.58 and 0.52, respectively. We also performed a user study, which revealed that users strongly preferred the semantic matching capabilities and AI-generated summaries of our approach. This work advances the state-of-the-art in programming video tutorial search and summarization by offering more nuanced and useraligned retrieval and summarization mechanisms.

The proposed Diet Recall is designed to provide an integrated solution for diet tracking, fitness management, and nutritional analysis through a user-friendly mobile platform. Modern lifestyles often lack consistency in healthy dietary practices, and this application serves as an accessible tool to bridge the gap between health intentions and actual actions. It enables users to monitor their food intake, analyze nutrient content, set and track fitness goals, and receive personalized meal and workout recommendations based on preferences and health conditions. The application follows a user-driven approach, leveraging key personal data such as age, weight, height, activity level, and dietary restrictions to estimate daily maintenance calories using the Harris-Benedict formula. The core recommendation engine employs K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) and content-based filtering to generate tailored diet and exercise plans. Data processing is efficiently handled using Pandas and NumPy, while Firebase powers the backend, and Flutter ensures a cross-platform experience. This work demonstrates the potential of AI-driven digital health solutions in fostering sustainable behavioral changes and long-term wellness.

Reinforcement learning (RL) is an effective machine learning approach that enables artificial intelligence agents to perform complex tasks and make decisions in dynamic situations. Training an RL agent demands its repetitive interaction with the environment to learn optimal policies. To efficiently collect training data, parallelizing environments is a widely used technique by enabling simultaneous interactions between multiple agents and environments. However, existing CPU-based RL software frameworks face a key challenge of slow multi-environmental update computation. To solve this problem, we present a novel FPGA-based RL accelerating framework-PEARL. PEARL instantiates multiple parallel environments and accelerates them with a carefully designed pipeline scheme to hide data transfer latency within the computation time. We evaluate PEARL on respective RL environments and achieve 4.36 x to 972.6 x speedup over the existing fastest software-based framework for parallel environment execution. When scaling the number of environments from 1024 to 43008 (42x) in CliffWalking benchmark, the power consumption increases marginally by 3%, while LUT and flip-flops utilization rise by 2.24 x and 3.08 x, respectively. This demonstrates efficient resource usage and power management in PEARL. Further, PEARL allows users to define and add their environments within the framework flexibly. We have established an open-source repository for users to utilize and expand. We also implement PEARL with the existing RL algorithm and save 7% -15% training time. Fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) is a promising solution for privacy-preserving cloud computing as it enables computations on sensitive data without any risk of data leakage. Despite the significant attention FHE has received, substantial computation and memory demands make it hardly practical for real-world applications. We propose a readily available and practical hardware solution to tackle this problem by using GPUs. GPUs have adequate computational and memory resources to handle complex operations in FHE, including number-theoretic transform (NTT), on which most prior work has deeply focused. However, through detailed analyses, we discover that the performance bottleneck on GPUs is primarily due to simpler element-wise operations, which are limited by off-chip memory (DRAM) bandwidth. Motivated by these observations, we develop Anaheim, a processing-in-memory (PIM) architecture for FHE. We develop optimized FHE execution flows and an end-toend software framework for using PIM with GPUs. Also, we design a versatile PIM unit that handles various modular integer arithmetic PIM instructions, along with an efficient data mapping and associated PIM execution algorithms that minimize data access overhead by leveraging the internal structure of DRAM. Our concerted efforts substantially enhance the performance and energy efficiency of various FHE workloads on GPUs.

In this we are going to a make security system that will help in counting the people available in a building or an area which is having an entrance gate in which whenever a people goes inside the building through the entrance gate it will show the count that certain count of people are inside the building and that some amount of people are going outside of building after 24 hours it will give an update about current amount of people staying inside the building till the night. In this we are using image processing using cvat software for datasets and using haar cascades algorithm for people detection and using signal processing it will give update on count of people.

This paper presents an interactive application developed for the analysis of continuous systems that are used in many different areas of modern technology. For this reason, their analysis is crucial both for investigating the performance of systems and for synthesizing corrective algorithms to ensure their stability. The main goal of the developed application is to set up and automatically analyze continuous systems by applying an interactive approach. The application is implemented with a convenient interactive user interface, implemented in the Scilab programming environment and is particularly suitable for teaching students. It is programmed so that the continuous system can be defined by one of the two main mathematical descriptions _ transfer function and zero-pole gain model. Functions have been implemented to obtain the basic time (step response and impulse response) and frequency characteristics for a system (amplitude-phase-frequency response and logarithmic amplitude and phase frequency response), pole-zero map, as well as automatic analysis, including determining the type of system - stable, critically stable or unstable; in the case of a stable system _ its type according to the transient characteristic; parameters of the transient process in a stable system and of oscillations in a critically stable system. Tests have been made with many different system input parameters set in the two implemented ways, and the application shows stable operation.

The paper presents a novel observer design method for estimating the front and rear wheel slips of the vehicle. The proposed observer design technique consists of two parts: A simple linear observer algorithm, which uses a reformulated lateral vehicle model to estimate the tire slips. The second part is based on an ultra-local model. The main goal of the ultra-local model is to eliminate the nonlinear, unmodeled, uncertain dynamics of the lateral vehicle model. In this way, the performance level of the linear observer can be significantly increased especially under critical circumstances such as high lateral acceleration maneuvers or driving on a low µ surface. The proposed observer algorithm is implemented in MATLAB/Simulink environment connected to the high-fidelity simulation software, CarMaker. The operation and the effectiveness of the proposed observer are demonstrated through several simulation examples.

The increased digitalization of the modern world has led to more frequent signal interferences, highlighting the need to separate the signal of interest from interfering signals. This is where digital beamforming becomes crucial. Digital beamforming using the Least Mean Square algorithm is a promising technique in this direction. However, the LMS approach has the drawback of increased delay for error convergence due to constant step size. When the step size is constant and the error is large it takes a lot of time to converge, similarly, when the step size is constant, and the error is small it results in overshooting and instability. Additionally, the constant step size LMS performs poorly with varying Signal to Noise Ratio. To address these issues, we propose a Variable Step Size LMS algorithm. The proposed VSS algorithm and existing CSS LMS algorithm were tested for error convergence and beam pattern formation using MATLAB software. The MATLAB simulations demonstrate that the Variable Step Size LMS algorithm outperforms the Constant Step Size LMS algorithm in terms of error convergence, beam pattern quality, and performance under varying SNR conditions. The proposed algorithm's architecture is designed and simulated in Vivado software on Basys 3 FPGA board using Verilog coding. Analysis and comparison is done in terms of resource utilization.
