Machine Learning (ML) models are ubiquitous in decision-making applications impacting citizens’ lives: credit attribution, crime recidivism, etc. In addition to seeking high performance and generalization abilities, ensuring that ML models do not discriminate against citizens regarding their age, gender, or race is essential. To this end, researchers developed various fairness assessment techniques, comprising fairness metrics and mitigation approaches, notably at the model level. However, the sensitivity of ML models to fairness data perturbations has been less explored. This paper presents mutation-based pipelines to emulate fairness variations in the data once the model is deployed. FairPipes implements mutation operators that shuffle sensitive attributes, add new values, or affect their distribution. We evaluated FairPipes on seven ML models over three datasets. Our results highlight different fairness sensitivity behaviors across models, from the most sensitive perceptrons to the insensitive support vector machines. We also consider the role of model optimization in fairness performance, being variable across models. FairPipes automates fairness testing at deployment time, informing researchers and practitioners on the fairness sensitivity evolution of their ML *** Concepts• software and its engineering → software testing and debugging; • Computing methodologies → Machine learning.

Determination of technically and economically feasible design solutions for power distribution networks remains an urgent task of the electric power industry. Existing design methods, both manual and software, do not allow to fully automate the process and do not take into account distributed energy sources. The article proposes an algorithm for the automatic synthesis of the optimal structure and parameters of the electrical network scheme. To implement the algorithm the method of dynamic programming with ‘collapsing’ of solutions was used, which allowed to significantly reduce the search space and increase the efficiency of calculations. The software implementation of the algorithm was performed in the Java programming language with visualization of the obtained solutions using the *** package. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach, computational experiments were carried out on a 13-node scheme of the distribution network. Two tasks were considered: design of a new electrical network and development of the existing electrical network using the algorithm of automatic synthesis of the optimal solution for the power system on the basis of dynamic programming. Various scenarios including different network configurations and substation nominal voltage levels were analyzed in the experiments. The results showed that the proposed algorithm allows to efficiently find optimal solutions, taking into account both technical and economic aspects.

Safety and liveness are fundamental to many system verification paradigms. In contrast to existing approaches for extending safety and liveness properties of fuzzy systems, we first utilize ultrametric to measure the similarity of valuations, traces and properties in a fuzzy Kripke structure (FKS). A distance threshold $\alpha$ is introduced, which is used to define two quantitative extensions of safety and liveness properties, called $\alpha$-safety and $\alpha$-liveness properties. In addition, we provide characterizations of $\alpha$-safety and $\alpha$-liveness properties in terms of Büchi automata. These results will provide the foundation for the verification of fuzzy systems.

In the field of electronic voting systems, ensuring secure and reliable authentication mechanisms is paramount to safeguarding the integrity and fairness of the democratic process. Face biometric authentication has emerged as a promising approach, integrating advanced deep learning algorithms for accurate and efficient verification of voters based on their facial features. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of the system architecture and design considerations for integrating face biometric authentication into electronic voting systems. It describes the hardware and software components essential for system functionality, discusses the selection of appropriate technologies for face recognition and encryption, and elaborates on the design of user interfaces, database structures, and ballot generation systems. Furthermore, the paper delves into the implementation of face detection and recognition algorithms, emphasizing the importance of anti-spoofing measures and multi-factor authentication mechanisms to enhance security. It also addresses voter registration processes, ballot generation, the voting process, and vote counting and verification procedures within the context of face biometric authentication. Additionally, the paper highlights the significance of robust security measures, including encryption techniques, access controls, and regular security audits, to mitigate cyber threats and ensure the integrity of the electoral process. By integrating face biometric authentication into electronic voting systems, this paper aims to contribute to the development of secure, transparent, and inclusive electoral systems, fostering trust and confidence in democratic governance, with an accuracy rate of 96%.

With the continuous development and expansion of power supply systems, improving the performance of power supply has become an important challenge. This paper proposes a power supply performance optimization model based on deep learning to improve the efficiency and reliability of power supply systems. First, we use convolutional neural networks (CNN) and image processing (DP) to train and model the data. Then, by learning patterns and trends in the data, we are able to predict future supply needs and optimize scheduling and operational strategies for the power supply system. In addition, we have improved a graph roll algorithm (NDP) for the effect and improvement space of the power supply system through CNN and DP. Through experiments and analysis, we verify the validity and feasibility of the model. The results show that the power supply performance optimization model based on deep learning can significantly improve the efficiency and reliability of the power supply system, and reduce energy waste and cost. This study provides a new idea and method for the optimization and improvement of power supply system, which is of great significance for the realization of sustainable development, energy saving and emission reduction.

Assembly sequence planning and its simulation are critical components in modern manufacturing. With the increase in the number of product components, the number of assembly sequences grows exponentially, presenting characteristics such as strong discreteness, large search spaces, and small feasible domains. The existing assembly sequence planning methods based on heuristic algorithms, such as particle swarms and genetic algorithms, are afflicted with shortcomings, including low solving efficiency and a proclivity to fall into local optimization during the solving process. To address these issues, this paper proposes a topology-ordered assembly sequence planning algorithm based on a greedy strategy. The algorithm employs a comprehensive evaluation index that considers both the part-level and the product-level in order to optimize the topological sorting process. It ensure that the output sequence are more compatible with the actual process. Additionally, a simulation system integrating interference checking, assembly sequence and path planning functions has been developed on the basis of the in-house Inte 3D software. The objective is to provide a set of intelligent assembly sequence planning tools for the manufacturing industry, with the aim of effectively shortening the product development cycle.

The primary objective of this research is to conserve water through smart agriculture, by employing the Random Forest algorithm to predict rainfall. By avoiding unnecessary irrigation on rainy days, this system conserves water. The proposed method works on both hardware and software. The hardware comprises two boards, one of which is the ESP8266 for wireless connectivity to the internet, while the other utilizes an Arduino microcontroller with additional sensors to track soil moisture, temperature, and humidity of the farming land. The software is a website developed using the Random Forest algorithm for rain prediction. The project integrates hardware and software by providing the sensor outputs through the website to the machine learning model for rain prediction. If rain is predicted, land water utilized for farming is conserved. With an accuracy of 88.5%, Random Forest predicts rain on that day, whereas the other models give an accuracy of 83%. The Random Forest algorithm also outperforms logistic regression used for rain prediction, resulting in more accurate predictions.

The development of cryptology is closely related to the improvement of the evaluation methodology of block ciphers, which have become widespread in the protocols for ensuring the security of banking information and other communication systems and networks due to their high productivity and low complexity of implementation. In addition to ensuring confidentiality (data protection during transmission from passive attacks), symmetric algorithms are used to ensure integrity based on message authentication codes (MAC codes) and hash functions, as components of an electronic digital signature, generation of pseudo-random post-sequences as part of authentication protocols etc. For the comparative evaluation of the efficiency (cryptoresistance) of symmetric crypto-algorithms, as a rule, methods of linear and differential cryptanalysis are used. Comparison of security mechanisms based on algorithms of traditional cryptography, public key cryptography, and hybrid cryptosystems is possible on the basis of a comprehensive indicator that takes into account the criteria of cryptoresistance, speed of cryptographic transformations, transparency of encryption procedures for the user, distribution of key sequences, investments in information security, which does not allow without significant time and economic costs to determine their effectiveness. That is why it is proposed to use express analysis based on the entropy method to assess the stability of crypto-algorithms of various models of crypto-systems. Most of the methods for assessing the quality of encryption mechanisms are based on a complex mathematical apparatus, and obtaining and interpreting the results requires special knowledge and additional funds. The proposed express analysis allows to intuitively compare not only the stability of various crypto-algorithms (crypto systems), but also their software implementation, without significant computing and energy costs.

Physical layer multicasting is an efficient transmission technique that exploits the beamforming potential at the transmitting nodes and the broadcast nature of the wireless channel, together with the demand for the same content from several UEs. This paper addresses the max-min fair multigroup multicast beamforming optimization, which is an NP-hard problem. We propose a novel iterative elimination procedure coupled with semidefinite relaxation (SDR) to find the near-global optimum rank-1 beamforming vectors in a cell-free massive MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) network setup. The proposed optimization procedure shows significant improvements in computational complexity and spectral efficiency performance compared to the SDR followed by the commonly used randomization procedure and the state-of-the-art difference-of-convex approximation algorithm. The significance of the proposed procedure is that it can be utilized as a rank reduction method for any problem in conjunction with SDR.

The article is devoted to the methods of creating intelligent assistants. An intellectual assistant for interviewing candidates for available vacancies of enterprises is developed. When creating intellectual assistants the model-theoretic approach based on formal representation of precedents of subject areas in the form of partial models is applied. Knowledge about situations is formally represented in the form of fragments of atomic diagrams of algebraic systems. In order to solve the problems of hiring new employees of companies, a software system is developed, designed to conduct automated initial testing of knowledge, skills of candidates, as well as assessment of their competencies. The purpose of the work is to build a module of the intellectual assistant, which performs processing and analysis of the received user’s answer, selection of the next question for the candidate and control over the interview process. The created program complex is a link of the developed system, and can also be used in other subject domains and on other platforms. In the work of the intellectual assistant a four-level ontological model of the subject domain is used. The implemented methods of knowledge processing are based on the use of partial models and their ontological homomorphisms. The system provides the possibility of automated identification of knowledge, skills and competencies of candidates, allowing qualified specialists to save effort and time.
