HPG is a portable library for gridding and degridding non-uniformly distributed visibility data for synthetic aperture imaging. The library is designed for performance portability, and is implemented using the Kokkos C++ Performance Portability Ecosystem, a High Performance software Foundation project that was initially developed under the US Department of Energy's Exascale Computing Project. The HPG implementation uses portable C++, which compiles to optimized code on CPUs as well as GPUs. The library implements general purpose algorithms that can be used with any user-defined convolution kernels, and is thus applicable to most visibility-based gridding algorithms. It is currently being used by groups within the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in the implementation of A-projection, W-projection, AW-projection, full polarization, spectral line, continuum, and mosaic imaging. Performance testing at NRAO has demonstrated a speedup of up to 160x on GPUs versus CASA-based gridding on a single CPU core. Although the algorithms are inherently optimized for GPU execution, the code can be compiled, unchanged, for OpenMP or even serial CPU execution, which provides a significant benefit for code development and debugging. Hooks provided by Kokkos also support fine-grained performance profiling on all architectures, promoting ease of use during performance optimization. The library is currently undergoing an update to merge a variant that was implemented for the DSA-2000 radio camera imaging pipeline software. Early tests of the merged code promise an approximate 2x speedup versus the current version of HPG on a wide range of GPUs. This performance improvement is achieved through various algorithm refinements, including an option to use mixed precision arithmetic, which is targeted to more affordable GPUs having low double precision floating point performance. The prevalence of computational-intensive tasks stimulate the emergence of Computing Power Networks (CPN), where software Defined Network (SDN) is utilized for flexible control. Considering the coexistence of in-execution tasks in the network and the arrival of emergency tasks, pre-migration is essential for reserving computing resources in advance, while it results in extra transmission cost in data plane and control cost in control plane. In this paper, we propose an analytical framework of task pre-migration policy in the SDN-based CPN to reduce system cost while meeting the delay budget. Specially, we consider the delay in SDN control plane induced by pre-migration flows, which involves $\ell_{0}-\mathbf{norm}$ and causes the problem non-convex and discontinuous. To overcome the challenges, we propose an iterative approximation algorithm to handle $\ell_{0}-\mathbf{norm}$ constraints, which transforms the original problem into a continuous function. Then we propose a dynamic programming based algorithm to minimize the approximation error, aiming at delay guarantee. The superiority of the proposed algorithm is verified through simulations, especially for heavy task offloading.

For decades, corporations and governments have re-lied on scanned documents to record vast amounts of information. However, extracting this information is a slow and tedious process due to the sheer volume and complexity of these records. The rise of Vision Language Models (VLMs) presents a way to efficiently and accurately extract the information out of these documents. The current au-tomated workflow often requires a two-step approach in-volving the extraction of information using optical char-acter recognition software, and subsequent usage of large language models for processing this information. Unfor-tunately, these methods encounter significant challenges when dealing with noisy scanned documents, often requiring computationally expensive language models to handle high information density effectively. In this study, we propose PatchFinder, an algorithm that builds upon VLMs to improve information extraction. First, we devise a confidence-based score, called Patch Confi-dence, based on the Maximum Softmax Probability of the VLMs' output to measure the model's confidence in its predictions. Using this metric, PatchFinder determines a suitable patch size, partitions the input document into overlapping patches, and generates confidence-based predictions for the target information. Our experimental results show that PatchFinder, leveraging Phi-3v, a 4.2 billion parameter VLM, achieves an accuracy of 94% on our dataset of 190 noisy scanned documents, outperforming ChatGPT-4o by 18.5 percentage points.

Power quality issues have become a significant concern in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems due to the intermittent nature of solar irradiance. In this study, a novel approach for optimizing power quality in PV systems using a Pulse Width Controlled Shunt Active Power Filter (PWC-SAP F) is proposed. The PWC-SAPF is equipped with a Perturbed and Observed Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm to ensure efficient power extraction from the PV array. The effectiveness of the proposed system is demonstrated through simulation studies on PSIM software under various operating conditions. The results show that the PWC-SAPF with the Perturbed and Observed MPPT algorithm significantly improves the power quality by mitigating harmonics and reactive power fluctuations, thereby enhancing the overall performance of the PV system. Overall, the proposed approach offers a promising solution for optimizing power quality in solar PV systems.

This paper discusses the construction of sensor networks that include highly mobile elements. A brief analysis of modern technologies used in sensor networks is carried out. The difficulties of organizing communication in such networks associated with the need for periodic rebuilding combined with data transmission are indicated. The network organization time durations depending on individual parameters are studied analytically and empirically. The optimal values of these parameters have been found to ensure maximum network performance. The correctness of the choice of these parameters has also been confirmed by tests on specialized simulation software. Recommendations on the application of the solutions found in networks of different sizes are formulated.

The article is devoted to a comprehensive study of methods for analyzing the tonality of textual information in order to improve the effectiveness of information security monitoring and public opinion management in the digital environment. The authors conduct a comparative analysis of approaches based on lexicographic methods, machine learning with a teacher (naive Bayesian classifier and maximum entropy method) and systems using a set of rules. The study includes a detailed review of the algorithmic features, advantages and limitations of each method, as well as an evaluation of their adaptability when the topics of the analyzed texts change. The results of the comparative analysis show that machine learning methods demonstrate higher performance in terms of accuracy, completeness and F-measure compared to rule set based systems. The authors also draw attention to the dependence of the results on the specifics of the training sample and the peculiarities of the contextual application of algorithms. The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of using the developed methods for the rapid detection of negative content and predicting changes in classification accuracy when adapting to new topics, which is especially relevant for information security and management decision support in a dynamically developing digital environment.

With its disaggregated and open interfaces, the Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) architecture promises flexibility, innovation, and cost-effectiveness for future wireless networks. However, the increased reliance on software and open interfaces also introduces new security challenges. As the threat of quantum computing looms, the traditional cryptographic algorithms used in O-RAN will become vulnerable to potential attacks. This paper proposes the integration of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) into O-RAN to enhance its security against post-quantum adversaries. We discuss the specific vulnerabilities of current O-RAN security mechanisms to quantum attacks and identify key areas where PQC can be applied, such as key exchange, authentication, and data protection. We present a framework for evaluating the suitability of different PQC algorithms for O-RAN and outline potential challenges and implementation considerations. By proactively integrating PQC into O-RAN, we aim to ensure the long-term security and resilience of this emerging network architecture in the era of quantum computing.

Cybersecurity incidents have been growing globally, with access rights violations emerging as a critical threat to organizations and individuals alike. This paper presents a focused investigation algorithm for handling incidents involving unauthorized access, addressing both technical and organizational aspects. The proposed algorithm includes nine stages tailored to effectively identify, analyze, and mitigate access violations in information systems, while adhering to organizational security policies and regulatory requirements. Practical applicability is demonstrated through real-case testing in a public organization, showing reduced unauthorized events.

In response to the spectrum scarcity issue caused by industrial development, a two-layer game approach is proposed to improve spectrum utilization. Due to the selfishness of secondary users (SUs), each SU needs to consider their sensing attitude (i.e., whether to participate in sensing) and which sensing alliance to join. Additionally, the application of energy harvesting (EH) technology may intensify the non-sensing attitude among SUs. To protect the spectrum, a penalty function is introduced to increase the probability of cooperation. This method optimizes the network's detection and false alarm probabilities by continuously adjusting the sensing attitudes and choosing sensing alliances of SUs, aiming to improve throughput. Simulation results using MATLAB software show that compared to traditional methods, the proposed algorithm increases throughput by 27.2%.

The effectiveness of overcurrent relays is essential for managing faults in power systems. As the integration of distributed generation sources increases within the power grid, the likelihood of errors in fault detection also rises. In certain situations, distributed generation can diminish fault currents, leading to delays in relay operation. This delay can damage existing equipment as faults persist in the network. Additionally, distributed generation may cause relays to malfunction, disconnecting healthy feeders instead of the ones experiencing faults. To address these challenges, this paper presents the development and modeling of an artificial intelligence algorithm designed to facilitate the integration of distributed generation into the power system without modifying the existing overcurrent relays. The algorithm also identifies optimal locations for distributed generation sources within the network. The modeling was conducted using MATLAB, and the implementation and validation of the model were performed with DigiSilent software.
