Generally, using collective intelligence is one of the interesting topics is researchers of recent years, which its purpose is modeling creatures’ simple behaviors and their interaction with the environment and neighbor creatures to obtain more complex behaviors. We could utilize algorithms based on collective intelligence to solve complicated problems like optimization problems. So far, various algorithms have been purposed in this field which firefly algorithm is a variant of these. In this algorithm, each member acts as a better response concerning itself. However, this algorithm has some drawbacks like the consistency of parameters value, lack of balance between local search and global search, and others. On one hand, multi-agent systems are software systems that contain sets of agents. These agents perform their tasks together to solve a problem and reach the desired purpose. In this paper, we have tried to utilize a multi-agent system, in addition to meta-heuristic optimization algorithms, to improve the performance of the firefly algorithm to better cooperate warms populations with each other. The results of the experiment show the acceptable performance of the proposed algorithm.

Biological immune mechanism may resist the invasion of pathogens. Its application in network security research can improve the ability of network security protection. Through simulating the biological immune mechanism, an immune algorithm for network security data detection is designed and implemented in this paper. The variables in the immune environment and the parameter variables required by the system environment are defined to ensure the effective operation of the proposed algorithm. Four sub immune algorithms are designed, which include immune environment initialization, feature extraction, immune evolution and immune detection. They are used to realize the sub processes of network data security detection. The overall algorithm is designed to integrate each sub algorithm, and make the network data feature extraction, immune evolution and immune detection run at the same time through multithreading. The prototype system of the proposed algorithm is programmed and tested. Test results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively simulate the evolution and recognition mechanism of biological immune system, and can detect the security problems in network data in real time.

Object detection has a key application in the field of UAV aerial photography, and its research is of great significance for the expansion of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) application scenarios. In view of the characteristics of UAVs aerial images, the commonly used algorithms in this field are mainly single-stage object detection, which have good performance in balancing detection speed and detection accuracy. In recent years, a series of progress has been made in object detection, and research in the field of UAVs has gradually become hot. This paper describes the research progress of object detection, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of related algorithms, and lists representative UAVs aerial photography object detection algorithms for introduction and analysis. It is of great significance to the development of object detection in the field of UAVs.

Based on the market demand for service-oriented robot, the automatic delivery system of robot is designed in this paper. The system is controlled by ArduinoMega2560 control board, ROS (Robot Operating System) as the robot operating system, combined with Slam particle filter algorithm to complete the robot positioning and navigation functions. At the same time, based on the Qt software interactive platform to control the robot walking, using the steering gear to open and close the storage box, 4G module SMS notification. In summary, this paper designs an interactive platform for indoor file transfer service robot based on ROS and Slam particle filter algorithm. Through this platform, we can control file access, notify the operation of pickup, and improve the comfort of human-computer interaction.

The rapid development of communication and multimedia technology has created the possibility for the production and application of Ultra High Definition (UHD) immersive video, but the content security protection of UHD immersive is threatened. Most of the existing video Selective Encryption (SE) algorithms are completed during the encoding, the highly coupling makes the application difficulties. The SE algorithms after encoding have the advantages of flexibility and efficiency, but the interaction between the syntax elements makes the encryption more restricted. Designing a SE algorithm after encoding with coding format compatibility needs to analyze the encryptability of important syntax elements. One of the main tasks of video content protection is to hide the structural information of image. Luma prediction mode is an important element for reconstructing the image structure during decoding, which can the image structural when it is encrypted. This paper analyzes the encryptable of the syntax elements of the luma prediction mode in High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) after video encoding, the result shows that the intra_luma_pred_mode syntax element has two sets of encryptable ranges which can maintain the scanning mode, but the ranges is too small and the prediction modes within range is similar, so encryption of this element does not have sufficient content video content protection capabilities.

With the development of sensor technologies and data-driven algorithms, the prediction of the remaining useful life has become a prevalent value-adding approach for industry 4.0. In this paper, we utilize a semi-Markov chain to model the multi-state stochastic deterioration based on the uncertain inspection data. The uncertainty of inspection data is described as a probability mass function over the states of the stochastic deterioration. The phase-type distribution is a general distribution that can be used to estimate the absorbing time distribution by the generator matrix and a starting probability vector. To obtain convenience in mathematics, the distributions of sojourn time are approximated by phase-type distributions according to the first three moments and the prediction of the remaining useful life is converted to the prediction of the absorbing time of the phase-type distribution. Finally, a numerical example is illustrated.

We consider a kinematic model for a differential wheeled robot. The corresponding optimal control problem is stated in the general form with an arbitrary domain for the controls and an arbitrary minimized functional. The known specifications of the problem lead to the classical models given by Markov-Dubins problem, Reeds-Shepp problem, Euler’s elastic problem and the sub-Riemannian problem on the rototranslation group. We describe the algorithms for constructing optimal trajectories of the robot for the given boundary conditions. These algorithms are implemented in an interface software developed in Wolfram Mathematica system. Additionally, we allow to equip the robot with a trailer. Trailer trajectories are computed for each model. We assume that the robot stays at the initial and final positions with zero velocities and accelerates to the given maximum linear velocity along the way. The interface program animates the movement of the robot (with a trailer) along the chosen optimal paths.

Research on Graph Convolutional Networks (GCNs) has increasingly gained popularity in recent years due to the powerful representational capacity of graphs. A common assumption in traditional synchronous parallel training of GCNs using multiple GPUs is that load is perfectly balanced. However, this assumption may not hold in a real-world scenario where there can be imbalances in workloads among GPUs for various reasons. In a synchronous parallel implementation, a straggler in the system can limit the overall speed up of parallel training. To address these performance issues, this research investigates approaches for asynchronous decentralized parallel training of GCNs on a GPU cluster. The techniques investigated are based on graph clustering and the Gossip protocol. The research specifically adapts the approach of Cluster GCN, which uses graph partitioning for SGD based training, and combines with a gossip algorithm specifically designed for a GPU cluster to periodically exchange gradients among randomly chosen partners (GPUs). In addition, it incorporates a work pool mechanism for load balancing among GPUs. The gossip algorithm is proven to be deadlock free. The implementation is performed on a deep learning cluster with 8 Tesla V100 GPUs per compute node, and PyTorch and DGL as the software platforms. Experiments are conducted on different benchmark datasets. The results demonstrate superior performance with similar accuracy scores, as compared to traditional synchronous training which uses “all reduce” to synchronously accumulate parallel training results.

The DMIS standard plays a vital role in applying CMM, which can realize the repeatability measurement process. The GOTO point is essential in the DMIS program, for it can ensure the path security avoiding illegal collision with the workpiece. There are many methods to add GOTO points into DMIS in the measurement process. The typical way is by clicking the InserGoTo button on the measuring handle. However, if many workpiece elements should be measured and the path is complicated, the operator might forget to insert some points, which may cause illegal collisions on executing the DMIS program automatically. So this article proposes some algorithms that can automatically generate GOTO points. It first explores an algorithm to get GOTO points using the relationship between the clearance plan and the measurement path and then raises this algorithm's optimization and application scope. This basis further presents algorithms for generating GOTO points utilizing the relationship between the CAD model's envelope plans and the measurement path in more general cases.

Computer programming is often presented to students as an abstract discipline that looks aseptic and ultimately boring to many learners; learners find their first computing course uninspiring and programming hard and socially isolating. This causes a decline in the interest in computing among learners. Although there have been many attempts to make computing appealing, more interesting, easier and enjoyable, many educators are still using the classic methods in teaching and learning computer programming. The aim of this work is to call the attention of computing educators to an approach that uses 3D virtual environments to teaching programming. We introduce this approach through a tool that offers innovative methods for teaching wide spectrum of computing topics; Alice. Alice is an innovative programming environment that can be used to create stories by animating characters in a 3D world. Alice is written in Java and has an object-oriented flavor. The paper presents a review of research on using Alice in motivating teaching programming and problem solving, algorithmic thinking, software modeling, and game design and implementation. New trends of using Alice in teaching computing are also suggested.
