A Fast Algorithm to Solve Delay Vandermonde Systems in Phased-Array Digital Receivers

Phased-array multibeam RF beamformers require calibration of receivers used in an array of elements before the signals can be applied to an analog beamforming network. This article presents a fast O(n(2)) algorithm for solving linear systems having a delay Vandermonde matrix (DVM) for the analog beamforming matrix. The structure of the DVM enables to obtain a fast algorithm to efficiently reverse multibeams at the DVM output such that calibration of the input low noise amplifiers can be achieved. The arithmetic complexity of the proposed DVM system solving algorithm is preferable over the standard matrix inversion consuming O(n(3)) operations. Numerical experiments are presented for forward accuracy of the proposed algorithm computed at the calibration frequency. Moreover, numerical results are shown to compare the order of the arithmetic complexity and the execution time of the proposed algorithm. Signal flow graphs are presented for four- and eight-element multibeam phased arrays.

Detecting Integer Overflow Vulnerabilities in Binary Executables Based on Target Filtering and Dynamic Taint Tracing

The number of identified integer overflow vulnerabilities has been increasing rapidly in recent years. In this paper, a smart software vulnerability detection technology is presented, which is used for the identification of integer overflow vulnerabilities in binary executables. The proposed algorithm is combined with Target filtering and dynamic taint tracing (TFDTT). Dynamic taint tracing is used to reduce the mutation space and target filtering function is used to filter test cases during the process of test case generation. Theory analysis indicates that the efficiency of TFDTT is higher than NonTF-DTT and random Fuzzing technology. And the experiment results indicate that the detection technology based upon TFDTT can identify the possible integer vulnerabilities in binary program, meanwhile, it is more efficiency than other two technologies.

Defect Reduction Planning (Using TimeLIME)

software comes in releases. An implausible change to software is something that has never been changed in prior releases. When planning how to reduce defects, it is better to use plausible changes, i.e., changes with some precedence in the prior releases. To demonstrate these points, this paper compares several defect reduction planning tools. LIME is a local sensitivity analysis tool that can report the fewest changes needed to alter the classification of some code module (e.g., from "defective" to "non-defective"). TimeLIME is a new tool, introduced in this paper, that improves LIME by restricting its plans to just those attributes which change the most within a project. In this study, we compared the performance of LIME and TimeLIME and several other defect reduction planning algorithms. The generated plans were assessed via (a) the similarity scores between the proposed code changes and the real code changes made by developers;and (b) the improvement scores seen within projects that followed the plans. For nine project trails, we found that TimeLIME outperformed all other algorithms (in 8 out of 9 trials). Hence, we strongly recommend using past releases as a source of knowledge for computing fixes for new releases (using TimeLIME). Apart from these specific results, the other lesson from this paper is that our community might be more careful about using off-the-shelf AI tools, without first applying SE knowledge (e.g., that past releases are a good source of knowledge for planning defect reductions). As shown here, once that SE knowledge is applied, this can result in dramatically better reasoning.

In the era of rapidly developing technologies, applications are actively being created that allows you to build routes between two objects. It is often difficult for newly enrolled students to navigate the complex logistics of educational buildings. Mistakes in "movement"can complicate the course of the educational process, as they potentially lead to a disruption of training *** article describes the relationship between navigation software technologies (navigators) and graph theory and discusses various algorithms for finding a path on a graph. The Lee algorithm or the wave algorithm is discussed in more *** experience of developing a navigator for indoor orientation, regardless of the type of building, be it a university, a hospital, or a shopping center, is given. The technologies for implementing the application and the results of trial operation are described. The development was tested at the National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute". The developed prototype allows you to display an interactive map of buildings, build and display the shortest route between two objects. A wave algorithm is used to find a route. The implemented approach can be generalized for other organizations with complex logistics inside buildings. © 2022 IEEE.

Breast cancer early detection is critical for life-saving and fast healing. Radiologists can misdiagnose many cases due to the modality's low accuracy, or lack of experience. We aim to customized a computer-assist detection (CAD) system to assist the radiologists in the early discovery of the malignants in the mammograms. This study involved 150 mammograms for patients with various breast masses thru two mammographies: (GE Sys., USA) (N = 80) and MAMMOMAT Revelation (Siemens, Germany) (N = 70)). Normal cases (N = 30) were used in the system as a control group to evaluate the specificity of false positive (FP) and true negative (TN) results. Mammogram images were processed by a custom algorithm (Normalization, moving average filtering, and K-means clustering) to automatically differentiate between normal and malignant regions. Although, experimental results were validated by the "Lunit inc. online software"to compare the tumor detection accuracy. However, all cases were re-checked and assessed by two qualified radiologist readers. The system presents reasonable outcomes concerning CAD for breast tumors regarding the qualified radiologist, where out of the 150 patients, twelve were missed by the custom CAD algorithm and five were missed by at least one of the radiologists, although the CAD sensitivity and specificity were 92.5% and 90%, respectively. The presented framework improves breast cancer detection from the mammogram investigation regarding two qualified radiologist readers with an overall accuracy of 92%. The presented CAD system could assist the radiologist to avoid missing the recognition of breast tumor cases, in addition to offering the possibility to improve careful tumor resection during surgery. © 2022 IEEE.

RefDetect: A Multi-Language Refactoring Detection Tool Based on String Alignment

Refactoring is performed to improve software quality while leaving the behaviour of the software unchanged. Identifying refactorings applied to a software system is an important activity that leads to a better understanding of the evolution of the software system, and several techniques have been proposed and implemented to address this issue. The vast majority of existing refactoring detection techniques are language-specific, including the accepted state of the art, RMiner, which is exclusively Java-based. Although impressive performance has been achieved to date, there is scope for improvement in refactoring detection and such improvement would enhance both refactoring research and practice. In this paper, we propose a novel, language-neutral technique to identify refactorings in commit histories. Our approach is motivated by a desire to explore the use of string alignment algorithms in refactoring detection, and to determine if such approaches are competitive with the state of the art. The proposed approach has been implemented in a tool called RefDetect, evaluated, and compared with the current state-of-the-art refactoring detection tool: RMiner. In experiments we applied RefDetect to 514 commits of 185 Java applications containing 5,058 true refactoring instances, achieving an f-score slightly better than that achieved by RMiner (87.3% vs. 86%). RefDetect clearly outperformed RMiner in method and class based refactorings, achieving f-scores respectively of 87.7% vs. 81.7% for method-level refactorings and 92.1% vs. 86.9% for class-level refactorings. To demonstrate the language-independence of RefDetect, we conducted a further study with four C++ applications, achieving high values for both precision (96.1%) and recall (94.1%). The achieved results indicate that RefDetect performs better than the current state of the art in refactoring detection and is demonstrably capable of handling different programming languages.

String matching algorithms are used widely in computer science that is a very important issue in text processing. Also, string matching algorithms are used as basic components in the practical software in operating systems. A lot of research is performed in this field that hash based matching algorithms like Rabin-Karp is one of their fastest, but due to the rapid growth of data volumes, traditional algorithms are not sufficient. To solve this problem, combining Bloom filter features with string matching algorithms, makes it possible to reduce the execution time. In present paper, a modified version of the Rabin-Karp algorithm is presented by using a Bloom filter as preprocessing phase that can early detect pattern absence. In addition, this approach maximize speed up and reduce the number of patterns needed for the exact Rabin-Karp matching phase. Accordingly, the proposed results as well as the Rabin-Karp implementations have been compared to verify the impact of the proposed method. © 2022 IEEE.

The task of style transfer is to transfer the style of the target image to the required image. In recent years, there have been increasing studies on image style transfer. and now it is often used in animation production, software interface beautification, image expansion and the creation of a variety of styles of decorative patterns. As these algorithms are proposed, how to evaluate algorithms will become an important problem, only with evaluation can comparative analysis be carried out and algorithms can continue to develop and progress. The importance of evaluation can not be underestimated. This paper firstly systematically combs and introduces the evaluation method of algorithm from subjective and objective aspects. Subjective methods are divided into two parts: questionnaire and User Study, which mainly rely on people's subjective perception and are easily influenced by subjects. The objective method evaluates the algorithm from a more accurate perspective, mainly including relying on statistics and evaluation indicators. Secondly, this paper introduces the experiments using several evaluation methods and evaluates their effects. Finally, it points out the problems existing in the current evaluation methods to provide the direction for the follow-up research. © 2022 IEEE.

software effort estimation is a crucial stage in the process of software project development including mobile application development. It is required to assist the project manager on deciding the project outlining, staff resources evaluation, cost estimation, quality control, and benchmarking. The methods of estimation can be categorized into parametric and non-parametric methods. This paper analyses and compares two algorithmic methods, namely Constructive Cost Model II (COCOMO II) and Constructive System Engineering Cost Model (COSYSMO) in calculating the effort for mobile application development. The experiment is conducted based on COCOMO datasets, and the experiment result is evaluated using the Mean Magnitude of Relative Error (MMRE). We found that the COCOMO II is a more suitable parametric effort estimation for mobile applications with the MMRE value of 0.4805. For future research, the cost drivers which are related to the mobile software aspects should be added. © 2021 IEEE.

Off late we have seen an increase in the usage of IOT devices in various domains. Such devices are equipped with advanced data sensors that can gather environmental data, processing it to certain extent and transmitting them back to backend devices. This is possible due to reduction in computation cost, easy access to Wireless Technologies and a plethora of sensors being made available to the end user. However, one of the open challenges in this regard is to be able to be complete the assigned task reliably within a specific period to be able to satisfy the latency requirements of latency sensitive applications. Since the IOT devices generally tend to have a limited amount of computing resource, it needs support from the backend computing machines that can perform a part of the heavy computation. In most cases these back end devices remain in the edge of the network are not offloaded to the cloud as high network latency is introduced otherwise. This makes Edge computing an ideal choice for Latency sensitive IOT applications. In this research paper we will be exploring the IOT based Edge Computing Applications and Machine Learning Tools that are used for the same. © 2022 IEEE.
