With the increasing penetration of renewable energy, the urgent issue of maximizing the integration of renewable energy while meeting economy security and reliability requirements needs to be addressed. Based on the theory of admissible region, integrating models of renewable energy, energy storage systems, and demand response, this paper proposes a source-load-storage coordinated optimal scheduling model considering admissible region of net load. The model uses the generation-load transfer factors based on decoupled linearized power flow to construct power flow constraints, enabling coordinated optimization of active power, reactive power, and voltage in the power system. Uncertainty constraints in the model are transformed into deterministic constraints based on affine strategy, and the entire model is transformed into a bilinear programming model using duality theory and power circle linearization, facilitating solution using mature commercial solvers. Finally, the effectiveness and superiority of the model are verified on the IEEE-RTS system.

Currently, research on the source-load-storage (SLS) integrated main-auxiliary joint market primarily focuses on modeling and clearing methods, while actual trading opportunities of the various resources in the various markets under the current cost levels are rarely examined. In the light of this, this paper, after constructing a clearing model for the SLS integrated energy- frequency regulation-reserve joint market, presents case studies towards two provincial markets with different SLS cost ratios, analyzing the trading opportunities for various resources in different areas. Results of the case study show that adjustable aggregate loads have trading opportunities in the reserve market in both areas due to their low interruptible costs;electric vehicle aggregators (EVAs) may find trading opportunities in downward frequency regulation market in the area with low coal-fired generation cost;however, in provinces with high coal-fired generation costs, independent energy storage stations may find more opportunities in downward frequency regulation than EVAs. These research findings provide valuable insights for the timely development of load-storage resources across different regions.

The rapid increase of the distributed generation (DG) in the distribution network brings challenges to the distribution network operation. Owing to the volatility, uncertainty and uncontrollability, the traditional distribution network dispatch is difficult to realize friendly integration of the DGs. The distribution network optimization dispatch is an effective measure to deal with this issue. In this paper, a source-load-storage coordinated optimization dispatch scheme for distribution networks is proposed. Unlike the traditional optimal dispatch method with large errors under the high proportion of the DGs and flexible loads integrating to the distribution, the proposed optimization dispatch scheme considers the uncertainties of the source and load. Based on the scenario method, the uncertainty of Photovoltaic (PV), wind power, electric vehicle (EV) and load could be mitigated, and the typical power curves could be obtained. Based on the obtained typical power curves, the proposed optimization model is established with the objective of minimizing the operation cost of the distribution network. Then the planned value of distributed power output, the planned value of energy storage device operation, and the operation cost of the power system could be obtained by the optimization model. The case study performed in Matlab verifies the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed optimization dispatch scheme.

Optimal operation modeling and synergetic dispatch of source-load-storage for high renewable energy penetration

With the increase in clean energy penetration, its power curtailment during operation is made increasingly evident. In this circumstance, it is imperative to address the conflict between inflexible combined heat and power (CHP) units and variable wind and solar power. With regard to the district energy system with high penetration renewable energy, a new source-load-storage synergetic optimization operation dispatch mode is explored in this paper. It demonstrates such characteristics as the full consumption of clean energy, the CHP units with lower power output and better capability of deep peak regulation, and the small installed capacity of electric energy storage (EES) devices. Besides, this model is capable to balance heat and power demands at any time throughout the day with a variety of different energy sources, including CHP, wind, photovoltaic (PV), electrical boilers (EBs), EES, and thermal energy storage (TES) devices. Moreover, with the competitive swarm optimization (CSO) algorithm applied to solve this model, the convergence performance is improved and the computation time is reduced compared to other heuristic algorithms. Relative to the other three simulation results, the single cost of simulation result can be reduced by as much as 29.3%-34.0% at most by applying the model proposed in this paper. Moreover, this model is verified as feasible.

Coordinated optimization of source-storage-load in distribution network based on edge computation

A large number of distributed photovoltaics are linked to the distribution network, which may cause serious power quality problems. Based on edge computing, this article put forward a strategy that aggregates multiple distributed resources, such as distributed photovoltaics, energy storage, and controllable load to solve this problem, emphasizing the coordination and optimization between distributed resources. Firstly, an edge computing architecture that can be fully applicable to the coordination of source-storage-loads is constructed. Based on this architecture, the distributed photovoltaic, energy storage and interruptible loads are optimized with the minimum operating cost of edge computation nodes as the objective function. Combined with the operation requirements of the distribution system, lessen the system network loss and make sure the stable and safe operation of the net;Finally, the model is changed with a second-order cone model and verified in an improved IEEE 33 node example. The results show that this method can effectively reduce the loss cost of the system, and can effectively solve the problem of system voltage exceeding the limit, reduce the voltage fluctuation, and maintain the safe and stable operation of the system. The rapid development of distributed renewable energy systems is swiftly transforming the structure of distribution networks. An essential issue in smart distribution networks is how to achieve interactive optimization among various entities with different forms. Against this backdrop, this paper investigates the regulation system and optimization scheduling algorithm for smart distribution networks with a high proportion of distributed generation. Firstly, it analyses the scheduling characteristics of various adjustable resources within smart distribution networks and examines the output characteristics of distributed energy sources, establishing an interactive model of "source-load-storage" that considers multiple adjustable resources. Secondly, it incorporates the topology of the distribution network into the day-ahead scheduling system, establishing a bi-level optimization scheduling model that considers dynamic network reconfiguration. The upper-level model is a dynamic reconfiguration model of the distribution network, aiming to maximize both the economic efficiency of scheduling and dynamic reconfiguration. The lower-level model is a day-ahead economic dispatch model for the distribution network, considering "source-load" coordination, with the goal of maximizing day-ahead scheduling economic efficiency. Subsequently, a multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm based on the three black holes capture strategy is used to solve this model. Finally, the IEEE 33-bus distribution system is used as a case study. The simulation results demonstrate that the bi-level optimization model can significantly enhance the economic efficiency and reliability of distribution network operations. ©2024 IEEE.

The coordination control strategy of the source-load-energy storage effectively makes use of adjustable resources, which plays an important role in peak cutting, valley filling, renewable energy consumption, energy efficiency improvement, frequency, and voltage regulation, and other aspects. It supports flexible regulation of the power system. In the case of a small load in the wet season, based on the conventional unit commitment and their minimum output, a proposed calculation method takes the minimum adjustable load required for system configuration as the objective function. The renewable energy consumption constraint and the coordination operation strategy of energy storage are considered. The adjustable load satisfying the abandoned power requirement of renewable energy is calculated by analyzing the whole day participation state and proportion of the adjustable load in system regulation. Finally, a regional power grid is used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed calculation method. The calculation results show that the reasonable configuration of adjustable load can reduce the amount of abandoned power.

The coordinated energy management of "source-load-storage" is essential to achieve maximum energy savings and emission reductions while reducing the economic costs of both source and load. Compared with existing work, this paper aims to incentivize the joint reduction of carbon emissions from both the source and the load by apportioning the precise responsibility for carbon emissions to each subject. Concretely, this paper proposes a two-stage low carbon optimal scheduling model based on source-load coordination. In the first stage, the costs and carbon emissions on the source side are reduced according to the real-time demand of the load nodes, the responsibility for carbon emissions is apportioned in detail according to the results of the optimal tide and a carbon trading mechanism is proposed. It is worth noting that the trading mechanism can reflect both the effects of load size, spatial and temporal differences. The second stage aims to minimize the sum of the daily operating costs of customer microgrids (MGs) subject to the uncertainty of distributed generation (DG), electricity trading mechanisms, carbon trading mechanisms, smart devices and conventional energy storage devices. Therefore, this paper proposes a real-time rolling optimal scheduling method for daily electricity consumption by introducing cloud energy storage (CES) rental services. Hence, this paper proposes a real-time rolling optimal dispatching method for daily electricity consumption by introducing CES rental services. Finally, an arithmetic analysis is carried out based on the improved PJM-5 node system for scenarios containing multiple types of generating units. The results show that the method reduces costs on both the generation side and the load side, with significant reductions in carbon emissions. In addition, the impact of different pricing criteria for trading mechanisms on scheduling outcomes is explored.

Optimal Scheduling of a Multi-Energy Power System with Multiple Flexible Resources and Large-Scale Wind Power

With the grid-connected operation of large-scale wind farms, the contradiction between supply and demand of power systems is becoming more and more prominent. The introduction of multiple types of flexible resources provides a new technical means for improving the supply-demand matching relationship of system flexibility and promoting wind power consumption. In this paper, multi-type flexible resources made up of deep peak regulation of thermal units, demand response, and energy storage were utilized to alleviate the peak regulation pressure caused by large-scale wind power integration. Based on current thermal plant deep peak regulation technology, a three-phase peak regulation cost model of thermal power generation considering the low load fatigue life loss and oil injection cost of the unit was proposed. Additionally, from the perspective of supply-demand balance of power system flexibility, the flexibility margin index of a power system containing source-load-storage flexible resources was put forward to assess the contribution from each flexibility provider to system flexibility. Moreover, an optimal dispatching model of a multi-energy power system with large-scale wind power and multi-flexible resources was constructed, aimed at the lowest total dispatching cost of the whole scheduling period. Finally, the model proposed in this paper was validated by a modified RTS96 system, and the effects of different flexibility resources and wind power capacity on the optimal scheduling results were discussed.
