In this paper, we consider two-way full-duplex (FD) relay networks, which allow relaying communications in both directions at the same time and over the same frequency band. We propose a distributed space-time coding scheme, which we call SC-DSTC (Self-Coded Distributed space-time coding), where the main idea is to perform convolutional encoding at the relay node and form a distributed linear convolutional space-time code (DLC-STC) together with the direct link. The convolutional code at the relay is realized by using part of the residual loop interference (RLI), which produces an automatic convolutional encoder. The amplifying factor is optimized when the loop channel information is imperfect. Simulation results show that the proposed SC-DSTC scheme can achieve asynchronous full cooperative diversity and is robust to the error of the loop channel information.

For colocated multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar transmitting orthogonal polyphase coded waveform, a low range, angular and Doppler sidelobe is desirable. In this paper, we propose a MIMO radar sidelobe suppression method based on random space-time coding (STC) method. In detail, at each pulse repetition period, a random STC matrix, composed of a diagonal random phase matrix multiplied by a random permutation matrix, is modulated to waveforms before transmission. Such a kind of STC matrix can keep the constant modulus property of transmitting waveforms and can decrease range, angular and Doppler sidelobe significantly.

Diversity transmission using space-time block coding (STBC) shows a degraded performance-in frequency selective fading (FSF) channel. In this paper, assuming the CSI is unknown at both transmitter and receiver while a pilot signal is available during the training period, we propose a MIMO transmission scheme using STBC by adopting subband adaptive array (SBAA) processing. The receive signal is converted into the frequency-domain and adaptive processing is done at each subband. A novel construction of SBAA is introduced to process received signal based on STBC. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme has a better performance compare to conventional STBC, and has a better performance and less computational load compare to STBC-TDLAA.

With the rapid development of high speed railway(HSR), people intensively have the demand of wireless communication with high-quality while traveling by very high speed trains. However, the current communication system for high speed railway is mainly designed under the assumption that the train velocity is a constant, while in fact the train is moving with a time varying velocity. Under these circumstances, there is some deviation between the current system design and its real working status. Therefore, we focus on the robustness in this work and investigate how the performance of the HSR communication system is affected if the train moving velocity is changing where a 2×2 antenna system and the Alamouti space-time coding are employed.

Orthogonal space-time block coding (OSTBC) is a recent technique that provides maximal diversity gains on a space-time channel at a very modest computational cost. Recently, several authors have suggested to improve the performance of an OSTBC system by using a feedback of channel state information from the receiver to the transmitter. In this letter, we study the performance of an OSTBC system with quantized low-rate feedback. We establish conditions under which the system achieves full diversity and we also analyze the performance of a method that employs a feedback consisting of only one information bit.

In this paper, we first consider a layered groupwise space-time block coding (GSTBC) scheme for multiple antennas communication systems. A novel list-based decoder for the GSTBC in multiple input single output (MISO) cases is then proposed. The error floor problem associated with the single receive antenna is resolved and, as a result, a near maximum likelihood (ML) performance is obtained. Our proposed scheme can be easily applied to the case of large number of transmit antennas while keeping a reasonably low complexity at the receiver.

The problem of efficient video communications over MIMO wireless systems is of great significance, due to the high capacity of the multiple antenna system. The high data rates provided by the MIMO system can be traded off with diversity gain by using different, channel coding schemes. Also, by using different video source coding methods, high compression gain can be traded off with the. error resilience gain. One should jointly consider source coding and channel coding when designing a MIMO wireless video system. However, little is known so far about what. combinations of channel coding and source coding methods have the best overall performance in a MIMO system. In this paper, by comparing the performances of several different,. typical combinations through both theoretical and simulation studies, we show that, no single combination is the best for the entire range of channel conditions, rather different combinations may be best for a sub-range.

In this paper, we present a novel space time coding scheme for the MISO wiretap channel. This method ensures that information theoretic secrecy is realised with modest computational complexity and a controllable trade off between power consumption and secret channel secrecy. One important aspect of this work is that it does not rely on unrealistic assumptions and only requires minimal protocol agreement between the transmitter and the intended receiver without any exchange of quantitative information. This scheme also has the benefit of having a predictable performance, hence allowing flexibility in the choice of key parameters. Finally, we show that unlike many MISO or MIMO secrecy schemes, it scales very well as the number of antennas is increased.

space-time coding (STC) applied for multiple antenna systems has proved very important in attaining better diversity and multiplexing gains. Recently, virtual antenna system is emerging as a solution for spatially constrained wireless terminals to compensate for the lost benefit from the incapability of multiple antenna installation. Distributed space-time coding (DSTC) is the STC counterpart applied for wireless relay systems. In this paper, DSTC is applied for estimate and forward relaying strategy. The analysis shows that it attains better pairwise error probability (PEP) compared to amplify-and-forward (AF) based DSTC. In addition, the scheme is more responsive to determinant change of the code word difference matrix as the PEP upper bound with lowest singular value shows. As a result, compared to the AF based DSTC, better coding gain is obtained.
