A NOVEL CLOUD LOAD BALANCING MECHANISM IN PREMISE OF ENSURING QOS

In premise of ensuring users' QoS, the paper proposes a novel load balancing mechanism in cloud computing environment. The idea takes into account not only the energy efficiency of cloud providers, also the needs of users' QoS. The main work includes: construct QoS model, resource model of cloud infrastructure and the mapping between low-level resource metrics and QoS attributes;model load status of the virtual machine instance, and estimate the resource utilization ratio of the virtual machine cluster quantitatively;design the task scheduling algorithm and elastic scaling algorithm to achieve the tasks distribution and the elastic scaling of the virtual machines cluster respectively. By simulation using CloudSim platform, the result shows that this novel method has better load balance degree and complement time compared with other common algorithms such as round robin and green load, achieving the purpose of optimal load balancing in premise of ensuring QoS.

With the rapid development of the Internet technology, JS (short for JavaScript), as one of the representative of script languages, which is very powerful, is becoming more and more popular to the developers and users. But JS programming is more complex than usual static technology. In the field of search engine and information acquisition, it's very difficult to get the information hidden in script code. In this paper, the authors design a distributed system for parsing the JS code embedded in HTML file and retrieving the underling information. the authors describe how to extract JS codes from HTML file and parse them. Also, they introduce a task scheduling algorithm for the JS parsing system by employing Hadoop distributed computing technology. The experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm and system can achieve a reasonable task scheduling efficiency and parse JS codes rapidly.

Satellite transmission scheduling problem (STSP) is an important part of satellite mission planning and one of the bottlenecks in satellite development. This paper established a mathematical model for the STSP problem. After that, we proposed an effective heuristic scheduling algorithm (HSA) and task scheduling algorithm (TSA) based on the characteristics of the problem. In addition, in the TSA, a greedy task scheduling method is adopted to ensure that the task arrangement is more compact in order to obtain a better solution. We verified the effectiveness of HSA and TSA algorithms under different task scales and proved that this algorithm can solve the STSP problem well. HSA and TSA all have good performance in terms of total revenue, number of tasks completed, and time utilization.

Resource management and efficient performance of task scheduling is one of the main research issues in cloud computing. In this paper, an enhanced task scheduling algorithm based on the concept of lion's lifestyle has been introduced for cloud computing environment. The enhancement is applied by benchmarking the performance of the task scheduling algorithm using real workload traces to evaluate high level of realism performance and effectiveness. A comparative study has been done among the enhanced algorithm, task scheduling based on Genetic algorithm (GA), and task scheduling based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to evaluate the performance of the enhanced algorithm. The results demonstrate higher performance than the other algorithms.

Operating a robotic network involves addressing feedback control, task planning and dynamic resource assignment. Ideally, these issues should be tackled in an integrated way, although this poses a number of complex challenges involving combinatorial complexity, computational requirements and implementation efforts. This paper presents a novel dynamic task assignment algorithm integrated in a discrete event formalism, which is able to fully characterize the dynamics of the network and incorporate robots allocation, conflict resolution and task assignment policies. After providing a brief introduction to the main characteristics of the network model and control framework, this paper focuses on the task scheduling algorithm. The effects of the various configuration parameters, along with the strengths and limitations of the proposed approach are assessed by means of an extensive simulation study considering robotic networks of various sizes and characteristics.

The task scheduling model and algorithm is very important to achieve high performance for message passing programs. The SPG (Subtask Precedence Graph) model abstracts a task as a set of communication and computation sections so it can explore the dependence among subtasks precisely. The TSSF (task Section based scheduling Framework) is designed to show how to generate subtasks and how to schedule subtasks on to different processors. Based on the SPG model and the TSSF Framework, two TSD(task Section Duplication based) algorithms, SMU(Searching-Marking-Unmarking) and Scalable SMU are described in detail to show how to get multiple parallel executing paths based on task section duplication. Compared with four typical traditional task scheduling algorithms,the simulation results show that our algorithms outperform other algorithms significantly.

Recently, service oriented architecture (SOA) has become a trend of implementing software systems including Grids. SOA provides more flexibility for Grid users at the service level. In this paper, a scalable service-oriented grid computing architecture utilizing Web-service technology is presented. With the service discovery scheme and resource assignment strategy proposed, the whole architecture can manage the service provider dynamically. Fault tolerant computing scheme is also introduced. The performance of the algorithm proposed is evaluated by experiments. Numerical results show that our work provide great efficiency and flexibility for the intensive applications in Grid computing or utility computing.

the grid computing system can support execution of computationally intensive parallel and distributed applications. The main characteristics of grid computing system are similar to the heterogeneous computing system, except the fluctuant transfer rate. A dynamic scheduling algorithm, called Dynamic HEFT (DH) algorithm is proposed in this paper to enhance the functions of the original static HEFT (SH) algorithm. Instead of dispatching tasks to physical processors directly, the DH algorithm dispatches tasks to multiple queues. During runtime, the DH algorithm continues to dispatch the scheduled tasks to corresponding physical processor and predicts the transfer rate. Once the difference between two consecutive transfer rates is greater than the threshold value, rescheduling will be performed. The experimental results show that the proposed DH algorithm performs better than the SH algorithm in the system, especially under the grid computing environment, with fluctuant transfer rate and high bandwidth differences.

The Grid task scheduling algorithm is proposed that takes the service quality of resource scheduling, time and cost together into consideration, so that it can better meet user task's Quality of Service(QoS) requirements and make the complex grid environment open. On the basis of the price model drove by supply and demand in economy, we design the Grid task scheduling algorithm in the market economy model. The experiment results indicate the effectiveness of proposed algorithm in terms of users' QoS guarantee. It reduce data access latency and decrease bandwidth consumption.
