At present, the commonly used microscopic video signal coding methods have poor processing ability and low coding accuracy. Therefore, this paper proposes a new micro video coding method based on machine learning technology. Firstly, the video coding processing architecture is established by intra prediction, inter prediction, transformation, quantization, entropy coding and loop filtering, and then the coding processing is realized by image segmentation, intra prediction and inter prediction, and the depth decision method is used for depth analysis. The experimental results show that this method can effectively improve the processing ability of microscopic video signal coding, and at the same time enhance the coding accuracy.

This paper proposes new memory interface architecture to overcome huge SDRAM bandwidth requirements of video decoders. To improve the memory efficiency, tile based memory access method and pixel cache are adopted. In addition to large data transfer cycle, extra overhead cycles takes great part of the heavy memory bandwidth requirement. The overhead cycles are caused by two reasons- the one is due to row-activation overhead of SDRAM and the other is due to redundant data transfer for motion compensation. The row-activation overhead is incurred frequently because of the block by block memory access pattern of standard video decoding algorithms. By using the tile based memory access method, the row-activation overhead can be reduced significantly. The redundant data transfer overhead is due to the 6-tap FIR filtering for the motion compensation while H.264/AVC decoding. We reduced the redundant memory transfer overhead by adopting the reference pixel cache, which is tightly coupled with multi-frame reference picture and the memory structure of the tile based memory access method. Experimental results show that the proposed method can decode 1920 x 1080, 30 frame per second H.264/AVC main profile bitstream in real time with only about 90MHz SDRAM clock. Compared to the conventional linear memory access system, the proposed method reduces about 6 times of SDRAM bandwidth. We also expect the proposed method will reduce power consumption because the SDRAM bandwidth requirement and the number of row-activation overhead are significantly reduced.

In this paper we propose a new fast mode decision (FMD) algorithm for H.264/AVC to reduce the computational load of the motion estimation (ME) process. It is oriented to dramatically reduce the encoding time regardless of the level of motion present at the sequences (high or low-motion). The algorithm decides as the best mode the SKIP Mode or Mode 1 without need to compute the rest of coding alternatives if some conditions are satisfied. These conditions ensure these modes to be used appropriately for low motion and high motion sequences respectively to achieve an appropriate rate distortion (RD) cost based on the results of the previous encoded frames. Tests have shown reductions of the encoding time around -81% for all kinds of sequences, while moderate loss of coding efficiency.

In this paper we propose a new fast mode decision (FMD) algorithm to reduce the computational load of the motion estimation (ME) process of the new video coding standard H.264/AVC Main Profile. The algorithm firstly computes the Skip/Direct Mode (respectively for P and B-frames), for all macroblocks (MBs), and then decides, for each MB if no mores modes are needed. This decision is based on the generation of predictions of the expected PSNR of the frame to be encoded. These predictions are performed with the distortion cost obtained for Skip/Direct Mode jointly with the average distortion cost obtained for the previous encoded frames. Results show that the computational load have been dramatically reduced, with average encoding time saving of -36.38%, while nearly negligible loss of coding efficiency.

In this paper, we propose a distributed video coding (DVC) paradigm based on lattice vector quantization in wavelet domain. In this framework, we use a fine and a coarse lattice vector quantizer to wavelet coefficients and the difference of two lattice quantizers is coded by Turbo encoder. At decoder, side information is gradually updated by motion-compensated refinement. The refinement is built on partially decoded current frame and we give its matching strategy. Due to the refinement, burden of Turbo encoding is cut down, bit rate is saved and the reconstruction is improved to some degree.
