This research study develops a web-based framework to compare clustering algorithms based on multiple datasets, assess the performance of algorithmic based on dataset characteristics and clustering objectives. The framework designed to support such widely used algorithms such as KM, DBSCAN and Hierarchical Clustering, offers visual and quantitative analysis for performance comparison. This platform was designed to make it easier for users to try out various algorithms and different parameter settings and thus, help them to choose the best clustering methods for a range of data types. This work impacts that greater understanding of how effective clustering is based on different data structures and application contexts by providing a useful framework for data driven research and analysis. © 2025 IEEE.

This paper describes the design and development stages of a web-based framework, aiming to support the creation of mobile applications within the context of mobile learning. The suggested approach offers the opportunity to deploy and execute these applications on mobile devices. This web-based solution additionally offers the possibility to visualize the data collected by the mobile applications in a web-browser. Despite previous research efforts carried out in this domain, few of the projects have addressed these processes from a purely web-based perspective. Currently, a prototype of an authoring tool for creating mobile data collection applications is already implemented. In order to integrate and validate this solution in everyday educational settings, we are collaborating with a network of high schools. On the basis of workshops with teachers we will carry out, refinements and requirements for further enhancements will be collected and will be used to guide our coming efforts.

This paper discusses the efforts carried out related to the design and development of a web-based framework that allows designing, deploying and executing mobile data collecting applications. Furthermore, it also allows analyzing and presenting the data that is generated during the mentioned process. The fact that the framework is completely web-based provides a platform independent execution of the mobile application on any mobile device with a web-browser. As a result that the whole life-cycle of creating, executing and discussing a mobile learning activity is implemented in pure web-based manner separates this work from similar efforts. In the course of this work, the current state of development of two of the components, the authoring tool and the mobile application is presented. This framework was introduced to teachers in an activity to follow up an initial study. On the basis of a workshop with teachers, we performed an explorative study regarding the technology acceptance and usability of two components of the proposed framework. The results are discussed and analyzed in this paper.

Twenty-first century global change in most sectors is challenging our use and management of resources. For a community to adapt to this systemic change, while maintaining and even enhancing its economy and quality of life, the World Economic Forum has recognized the need for new approaches to enable collaborative innovation (Cl) and related action among both the leadership and concerned members of the community. Many see the web as an approach to CI and as a new form of creativity machine that can augment our intelligence. This paper outlines the concepts of an approach to Cl based on asset mapping and how it has been supported through a web-based technological framework that requires both communication and operations on the asset map. based on the experience using the framework in designing and building over 50 systems that incorporate asset-mapping CI, it is clear that CI takes many forms. We illustrate some of these forms through specific examples in environment, cultural heritage, socio-economic development and planning. We conclude that it is not possible to build a single set of tools to support CI and that the users need access to meta-tools and frameworks to implement tailored systems supporting Cl directly rather than relying on people with in-depth knowledge of the technologies. WIDE is an example of the type of meta-tools that are needed. Lessons learned from WIDE are being applied in the creation of WIDE 2.0.

Image processing plays an important role in computer science, making complex image manipulation and understanding more feasible. It can be used either in a general manner or in specific domains such as for medical purposes. With the availability of the internet, image processing applications can be distributed to be available for different people, regardless of their geographical location. Although there are a handful of professional image processing solutions available, there is no well-designed framework that can be simply distributed and customized to be used in specific areas. Other than image processing tools, image storage and retrieval is another issue that needs to be addressed. This research proposes a general platform that can be used for implementing a distributed image processing framework. It provides solutions for storing and retrieving images, particularly large-size ones as well as an approach for executing image processing functions that are physically located anywhere within the distributed system. It then discusses the idea of workflows, a set of image processing functions that can be applied to an image.

Fuzzy multi-criteria group decision making (FMCGDM) process is usually used when a group of decision-makers faces imprecise data or linguistic variables to solve the problems. However, this process contains many methods that require many time-consuming calculations depending on the number of criteria, alternatives and decision-makers in order to reach the optimal solution. In this study, a web-based FMCGDM framework that offers decision-makers a fast and reliable response service is proposed. The proposed framework includes commonly used tools for multi-criteria decision-making problems such as fuzzy Delphi, fuzzy AHP and fuzzy TOPSIS methods. The integration of these methods enables taking advantages of the strengths and complements each method's weakness. Finally, a case study of location selection for landfill waste in Morocco is performed to demonstrate how this framework can facilitate decision-making process. The results demonstrate that the proposed framework can successfully accomplish the goal of this study.

Polymorphic malware pose a serious threat to cyber security especially if it is a zero-day. They are self-mutating and change their signatures at every run. Due to their dynamic behavior at execution time, antivirus solutions may not be able to detect them. Thus, it is utmost important to detect and analyze these malware samples. To address it, we created a polymorphic malware, analyzed it in a sandbox (a web-based framework to perform live code analysis in a controlled/isolated environment) and finally tested the framework. The framework analyzes files, registry keys, network traffic and behavior of PE (Portable Executable) file and helps to detect if it is packed or not. We used stress testing technique to test the framework for efficiency in successfully analyzing N malware samples in first attempt.

Design and Implementation of a Medical Device Data Dictionary System based on Software Engineering Theory

Objective: based on software engineering principles, we designed and implemented a medical device data dictionary system that aligns with data integration and industry standards to fulfill the data management needs of medical institutions and healthcare professionals. Materials and Methods: Utilizing the web-based framework alongside open-source technologies such as Spring Boot, Spring Security, Apache MyBatis, Vue, and Element UI, along with database technologies such as MySql, MongoDB, and Redis, we analyze the basic elements of medical device data dictionary system and incorporate layered architecture technology, design the system architecture, functional workflows and database model required for the dictionary system, and conduct professional testing and trial evaluation of the system. Results and Analysis: In this study, we constructed a web-based open medical device data dictionary system that supports front-end and back-end operations. Using a ventilator as a sample for non-integrity assessment, the results of the system utility test showed that the system is functionally complete, satisfies the compatibility requirements of mainstream browsers and poses no significant risks or vulnerabilities to system operation. Conclusion: A medical device data dictionary that characterizes life cycle usage attributes based on their structural and functional properties was constructed. It provides a unified and standardized base for the management and analysis of medical device data, and helps realize the interaction and exchange of medical device data between disparate medical information systems.

Cultural Heritage (CH) management software represents virtual information in various ways aiming either at usability and long-term preservation or interactivity and immersiveness. A single web-based framework that couples the organization of geospatial, multimedia and relational data with 4D visualization, Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) is presented in this paper (https://***/***). It comprises the 5dMeteora platform and the Content Management System (CMS) for uploading, processing, publishing and updating its content. The 5dMeteora platform integrates a responsive 3D viewer of high-resolution models in the basis of 3DHOP (3D Heritage Online Platform) and *** multi-resolution library. It offers data retrieval and interpretation mechanisms through navigation tools, clickable geometries in the 3D scene, named hotspots, and semantic organization of metadata. Its content and interactive services are differentiated, based on the scientific specialty or the field of interest of the users. To achieve the sense of spatial presence, VR and AR viewports are designed to give a clearer understanding of spatial bounds and context of 3D CH assets. The proposed CMS allows dynamic content management, automation of 3DHOP's operations regarding 3D data uploading and hotspots defining, real-time preview of the 3D scene as well as extensibility at all levels (e.g., new data types). It is built upon a MySQL Database Management System and developed with PHP scripting, backend JavaScript and Ajax controllers as well as front-end web languages. The database maintains and manages the entities of every type of data supported by the platform, while encryption methods guarantee data confidentiality and integrity. Quality improvement in mobile applications should be based on the consideration of several factors, such as users' diversity in spatio-temporal usage, as well as the device's resource usage, including battery life. Although application tuning should consider this practical issue, it is difficult to ensure the success of this process during the development stage due to the lack of information about application usage. This paper proposes a user interaction-based profiling system to overcome the limitations of development-level application debugging. In our system, the analysis of both device behavior and energy consumption is possible with fine-grained process-level application monitoring. By providing fine-grained information, including user interaction, system behavior, and power consumption, our system provides meaningful analysis for application tuning. The proposed method does not require the source code of the application and uses a web-based framework so that users can easily provide their usage data. Our case study with a few popular applications demonstrates that the proposed system is practical and useful for application tuning.
