A magnetostatic surface wave (MSSW) delay line has been evaluated theoretically and experimentalIy as a microwave pulse compression filter in an active generation compression loop. The MSSW delay line had a 570 MHz bandwidth (based on the half pulse width), centered at 2.9 GHz, with 53 nsec of delay dispersion, for a time-bandwidth product of 30. Measured time-sidelobes were 15.8dB below the main pulse with a theoretically predicted peak-to-sidelobe ratio of 19.6dB. Effects of Doppler shifts, delay Iine characteristics, spectral weighting, and FM predistortion were included.

This paper studies the contextual multi-armed bandit problem with fairness and privacy guarantees in a federated setting. It proposes a collaborative algorithm, Fed-FairX-LinUCB, that achieves sub-linear fairness regret and can be adapted to ensure differential privacy. The key challenge is designing a communication protocol that balances privacy and regret. The proposed protocol achieves both sub-linear fairness regret and effective use of privacy budget. Experiments validates the efficacy of both Fed-FairX-LinUCB and its private counterpart, Priv-FairX-LinUCB.

A fast self-convergent programming scheme has been developed for MV/analog data storage in floating-gate MOS memories. In the scheme, the built-in feedback mechanism of the channel hot electron injection phenomenon is used for fast and accurate data writing, As a result, 4-bit-resolution writing can be achieved in less than 10 /spl mu/s without write/verify cycles. In order to determine the size and position of a relativistic electron beam inside the wiggler magnetic field of a Free Electron Laser (FEL), a new probe has been developed which intercepts the electron beam on a high Z target and monitors the resulting bremsstrahlung radiation. The probe is designed to move along the entire three meters of the wiggler. This FEL is designed to operate in the microwave region (2-8 mm) and the interaction region is an oversized waveguide with a cross section. An array of fiber optics behind the scintillator transmits the visible light to a Reticon camera system which images the visible pattern from the scintillator. Processing the optical image is done by digitizing and storing the image and/or recording the image on video tape. Resolution and performance of this probe will be discussed.
