Operators have found that by integrating drilling and completion techniques, they can develop a highly reliable openhole horizontal gravel-pack completion that can control sand production and produce hydrocarbons at a high-rate. Because of the success of this methodology, it has become a mainstay completion technique in the deepwater developments in Brazil and has shown the same potential for upcoming deepwater developments in West Africa. This paper will discuss the evolution of the integrated concepts, the "lessons learned" that are being used to increase the scope of application, and how new techniques are enhancing reliability for these completions. Specifics include advances that eliminate openhole tortuosity in openhole drilling techniques, new downhole tools that can reduce risk as well as completion cycle time, and improvements in gravel pack fluids. These advances are continuing to push the technological envelope. The new technological benefits are: 1) Reduced completion cycle time, thereby reducing completion cost 2) Reduced formation damage 3) Improved completion reliability throughout the potential life of the well.

This paper describes the novel approach of a LiDAR-based system solution for localization and identification of manual processes in order picking. The solution based on novel LiDAR sensors and referring data processing offers high accuracy and low impact on the user. The results of an initial test application are compared to previous experiences with an ultrasound-based system.

In order to deeply analyze the quantitative relationship between traffic flow state and crash risk, this paper presents an optimal weight based multi-parameter fusion clustering method for highway traffic safety state division. Firstly, highway crash data and the corresponding upstream and downstream traffic flow data were extracted and matched with the paired case-control method. Secondly, considering the different roles of the three parameters of traffic volume, speed, and occupancy in the classification of traffic state, the weight optimization algorithm is applied to calculate the three parameters weight in this study. Therefore, the traffic state comprehensive evaluation index with three parameters fusion is obtained and taken as the input index of traffic safety state division. Finally, the k-means clustering method is used to partition the highway traffic safety state. The results of case study show that the method proposed in this paper can realize the rational and effective division of traffic safety state. The classification results are helpful to quantitatively evaluate the highway crash risk levels under different traffic safety states. Furthermore, according to different traffic safety state division results, differentiated preventive measures could be formulated to improve highway traffic safety environment.

Depressive disorder has become a prevalent psychological illness that significantly impacts individuals' daily lives. Traditional questionnaire assessment and clinical interviews suffer from issues such as subjectivity and a high consumption of medical resources. With the advancement of artificial intelligence, there is a growing number of depression detection methods based on statistical features. However, these methods have problems of insufficient stimulus extraction and neglecting temporal information. In order to solve these problems, we propose a transformer-based model named EMo Transformer, designed for detecting depression by effectively extracting features from stimuli and combining them with eye movements. Additionally, due to challenge in collecting data from depression patients, we design a simple and effective data augmentation method to solve this challenge. Subsequently, we design an ensemble model using the models with and without data augmentation. The experimental results of accuracy 91.95% demonstrate that our method is effective.

With the advent of options and futures on financial instruments, investors have the opportunity to form complex strategies that meeting their investment objectives. However, this opportunity gives rise to a difficult task for finding a desired strategy among a large amount of investment strategies. The authors describe an intelligent decision-support system for generating option-based investment strategies by using the notion of constraint satisfaction, which is widely applied to search problems. In this system, constraint satisfaction plays a role of navigation for automatically creating complex strategies through abstract matching with investors' profiles. Here, abstract matching can be viewed as a search method for producing qualitatively reasonable strategies, that describe a set of options to buy or sell without numerical information. Because this technique can be used as preprocessing to quantitative analysis such as linear programming in order to obtain an optimal solution, the proposed system provides a bridge for smooth transition between qualitative and quantitative analysis.< >

The removal of cadmium using biosorption on cork biomass was investigated. The biosorption process is affected by several parameters such as contact time, particle size, initial pH and temperature of the solution. The obtained results showed that the equilibrium time was determined to be one hour. The adsorbent use in this study gave the highest adsorption capacity at pH 6. The experimental data was investigated by both Freundlich and Langmuir isotherm models and it was found that it obey at the Langmuir model. The maximum adsorption capacity q max constant increased from 9.65 to 14.77 mg/g with increasing temperature from 20 to 40 ℃. The sorption kinetics was studied by both pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order and was found to follow pseudo-second-order model.
