Increase in histamine levels are known to be associated with food spoilage and to pathophysiological conditions linked to allergy. This study aims to prepare and evaluate histamine imprinted microspheres as recognition element for histamine sensing. The imprinted polymers and their corresponding non-imprinted versions were prepared under high-dilution photochemical polymerization using AIBN, 4% monomer containing (80:20 wt% (PCP-M80/PCP-N80) or 90:10 wt% (PCP-M90/PCP-N90) EGDMA:MAA and histamine:MAA mole ratio of 1:4 in acetonitrile at RT. These polymers with sizes ranging from 57 to 149 nm in the collapsed state were evaluated for histamine binding via frontal analysis capillary electrophoresis (FACE). PCP-M80 was found to be more selective to histamine, possessing higher number of binding sites as estimated from Freundlich affinity distribution. The selective binding capacity was also found to be higher for PCP-80 systems (N=16.0 μmol/g) compared to PCP-90 systems (N=10.1 μmol/g).

The analysis of stack emissions for oxides of nitrogen as nitric oxide (NO) for atmospheric contamination may be accomplished with sensitized non-dispersive ultravoilet analyzer (NDUV) and extractive sampling techniques. The NDUV physical detection technique assures accurate analysis without involved chemical sample reactions. Ultravoilet resonance absorption by a gas filter correlation technique optimizes the sensitivity and selectivity for continuous measurement of a single stream component, such as NO, in a complex stack gas sample stream. A carefully prepared sample system assures sample component integrity, while control of the conditioning of sample is simplified and maintenance requirements made predictable.

This study primarily focused on the heat transfer mechanism at flow boiling in channels, which are in flat-plate or evacuated solar collector, and the mechanism was related directly or indirectly with the bubble growth behavior. But in two-phase flow boiling, to classify the phenomena is so difficult. So, this study firstly showed the difference of the growth behavior of the bubble growing on heated surface between pool and flow boiling. Then, obtained the effects of wall temperature and system pressure at nucleate pool boiling. And revealed the relations of the temperature parameters consisted of wall, saturation, and pool temperatures affecting the bubble growth behavior, as fundamental data to get the further understanding on the flow boiling.

Opportunistic routing, offering relatively efficient and adaptive forwarding in low-duty-cycled sensor networks, generally allows multiple nodes to forward the same packet simultaneously, especially in networks with intensive traffic. Uncoordinated transmissions often incur a number of duplicate packets, which are further forwarded in the network, occupy the limited network resource, and hinder the packet delivery performance. Existing solutions to this issue, e.g. overhearing or coordination based approaches, either cannot scale up with the system size, or suffers high control overhead. We present Duplicate-Detectable Opportunistic Forwarding (DOF), a duplicate free opportunistic forwarding protocol for low-duty-cycled wireless sensor networks. DOF enables senders to obtain the information of all potential forwarders via a slotted acknowledgement scheme, so the data packets can be sent to the deterministic next-hop forwarder. Based on light-weight coordination, DOF explores the opportunities as many as possible and removes duplicate packets from the forwarding process. We implement DOF and evaluate its performance on an indoor test-bed with 20 TelosB nodes. The experimental results show that DOF reduces the average duplicate ratio by 90%, compared to state-of-the-art opportunistic protocols, and achieves 61.5% enhancement in network yield and 51.4% saving in energy consumption.

The paper presents an approach to design a compact wide-band antenna spanning a frequency of 1.5-3.5GHz. This encompasses the upper UMTS, WLAN and GPS bands used by many portable devices. A planar elliptical monopole is first adapted for corner-placement and feed within a device. The primary element is then modified to resemble a quarter ellipse, supported by a large ground plane. Using computer simulations, the resulting structure is confirmed to operate within the 10dB return loss reference from 1.9 to 3.0GHz with reasonable performance at 1.5GHz. The design is further reduced in size by careful manipulation of the ground plane dimensions, supporting an additional resonance at the lower frequencies. The final design is confirmed by measurement to provide good return loss from 1.5 to 3.56Hz.

Singing voice transcription (SVT) is the task of converting singing voice music into symbolic note series. Although most SVT models utilized the time-frequency information from the input spectrogram, the useful harmonic information in singing voices has not been utilized enough. In this paper, we propose a novel 3D Cycle Frequency-Harmonic-Time Transformer (CFT) to explicitly capture the harmonic series of singing voices, where we first define a tokenization scheme that captures harmonics across multiple octaves, then the harmonic features are aggregated into the frequency-harmonic-time representations via a cyclic architecture. Results show that our method achieves state-of-the-art performances on several public datasets, including note-wise accuracy increases of 5.76% for MIR-ST500 and 13.56% for Cmedia.
