Indian banyan is the popular name for Ficus benghalensis. Large, swiftly growing, evergreen tree with spreading branches and many high roots, reaching a height of up to 3.0 metres. While young, leaves have three nerves, are cordate, and have entire, woolly surfaces on both sides. The petiole has a large, smooth, oily organ at its tip. Using a measuring cylinder, The fruit was in axillary sets and was round, wool, and cherry-sized. With the aid of a stirrer, they were combined in the beaker. The extract was purified using Whatman filter paper after being heated at 50°C for 10 minutes. The obtained aqueous extract is combined with the copper sulphate solution. The anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic effects of copper oxide nanoparticles synthesized using Ficus benghalensis were investigated across various concentrations of the reaction mixture in the study (10 L, 20 L, 30 L, 40 L, and 50 L). The results showed that the nanoparticles exhibited potent anti-inflammatory activity, with percentage inhibition ranging from 11% to 92.7% at the different concentrations tested. Similarly, the nanoparticles showed significant anti-diabetic activity, with percentage inhibition ranging from 79.7% to 80.4%. Based on these findings, the researchers suggest that Ficus benghalensis mediated copper oxide nanoparticles could be used in combination with anti-inflammatory drugs.

For several years the standard in ultrasound imaging has been second harmonic imaging. Recently, a new imaging modality dubbed super harmonic imaging (SHI) was proposed. SHI uses the higher - third to fifth - harmonies produced by either nonlinear propagation or contrast agent response. This modality requires a transducer with a high bandwidth (>130%), which was achieved by choosing different frequencies for the odd (4MHz) and even (1MHz) elements. For SHI it is important to minimize both crosstalk and the transmission of odd transducer harmonies. To determine the influence of geometry on these issues a 3D transducer model is necessary. In this paper we compare array element surface vibrations calculated by a finite element model (FEM) with measurements obtained using a laser interferometer system. A custom array was built (element size 13 x 0.2 mm(2), resonance frequency 1.6 MHz, no matching layer, backing 5.3 MRayl). Its elements were excited using continuous signals or impulses and its spatially and time dependant surface vibrations were measured in air using a laser interferometer setup. The array element (characterized by its dimensions, piezo parameters from the data sheet and measured bulk parameters of the backing) was modelled using the ANSYS 11 FEM package and subjected to the same excitation. The fundamental resonance, third harmonic, fifth harmonic and lateral resonance of the array elements were measured at 1.6, 6.2, 9.9 and 7.9 MHz and predicted by the FEM simulation at 1.7, 6.1, 9.9, and 8.0 MHz. The excursion during continuous wave excitation was measured at 27.6 ran and predicted by FEM at 26.4 nm. The ripple in the y-displacement over the long axis of the element had a 1.2 - 1.3 mm wavelength both in the measurements and in the FEM simulation. Good agreement was achieved between the FEM predicted surface vibrations and the laser interferometer results.

The multiple effect (ME) process allows optimised desalination at an attractive cost while conserving the proven reliability of seawater distillation. ME has already superseded the more classic MSF in the range of unit productions up to about 10,000 TPD and tends to increase its leading position further to larger unit capacities.

Issues related to the design of virtual reality systems are discussed in the context of the development effort for a virtual cockpit. Subsystems provide visual imagery, hand and head tracking, control logic and force feedback. The force feedback subsystem uses robotic positioning to place an assortment of knobs and switches into position to be touched: the user's hand trajectory is extrapolated and the correct type of control is placed just in time to be actuated. Discussion focuses on selecting among alternative system elements and configurations in arriving at an overall systems design.

Metalloenzymes represent a broad class of important biomolecules containing an essential metal ion cofactor in their catalytic active sites, forming biologic metal complexes that perform a wide range of important functions: activation of small molecules (O-2, N-2, H-2, CO), atom transfer chemistry, and the control of oxidation equivalents. The structures of many metalloenzyme active sites have been defined by X-ray crystallography, revealing transition metal ions in unique low-symmetry environments. These bioinorganic complexes present significant challenges for computational studies aimed at going beyond crystal structures to develop a detailed understanding of the catalytic mechanisms. Considerable progress has been made in the theoretical characterization of these sites in recent years, supported by the availability of efficient computational tools, in particular density functional methods. However, the ultimate success of a theoretical model depends on a number of factors independent of the specific computational method used, including the quality of the initial structural data, the identification of important environmental perturbations and constraints, and experimental validation of theoretical predictions. We explore these issues in detail and illustrate the effects of molecular relaxation in calculations of two metalloenzymes, manganese superoxide dismutase and galactose oxidase.
