This paper falls in the topic of qLPV state-space model based control design in which LMIs are used to optimize the multi-objective control performance. In this paper we investigate how the convex hull of the polytopic model influences the feasibility of the LMI based control design and the resulting control performances. We examine these influences through the control design of the two dimensional aeroelastic system's example. First we define various TP type polytopic model representations of a wing section whose vertices define different convex hulls. In the second step we investigate how these models lead to different control performances.

Digital watermarking is a technology proposed to address the issue of copyright protection for digital content. In this paper, we have developed a new robust logo watermarking technique. Watermark embedding is performed in the wavelet domain of the host image. The human visual system (HVS) is exploited by building a spatial mask based on stochastic model for content adaptive digital watermarking. Independent component analysis (ICA) is introduced to extract the logo watermark. Our simulation results suggest that ICA can be used to extract exactly watermark that was hidden in image and show that our system performs robustness well under various important types of attacks.

This paper presents a general theory of constructing models for continuous media in the presence of interaction of material bodies with an electromagnetic field with allowance made for electric currents, polarization, and magnetization. The treatment proceeds from a basic variational equation. A closed system of equations is derived for continuous motions, external conditions being given;the system includes Maxwell's equations and equations of state describing polarization, magnetization, and internal mechanical stresses.

User profiling is an important research topic in social media analysis, which has great value in research and industries. Existing research on user profiling has mostly focused on manually handcrafted features for user attribute prediction. However, the research has partly overlooked the social relation of users. To address the problem, we propose a multi-granularity convolutional neural network model with feature fusion and refinement. Our model leverages the convolution mechanism to automatically extract user latent semantic features with respect to their attributes from social texts. We also combine different machine learning methods using the stacking mechanism for feature refinement. The proposed model can capture the social relation of users by combining semantic context and social network information, and improve the performance of attribute classification. We evaluate our model based on the dataset from SMP CUP 2016 competition. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model is effective in automatic user attribute classification with a particular focus on fine-grained user information.

Due to the shortage of fresh water in north-west China, exploitations of saline water become very important for mitigating water shortage for farmland irrigation. In order to research the effect of water and salt transport rule and crop yield under saline water irrigation, the plot experiments under different salinity saline water irrigation and local farmers' irrigation habit in north-west China was conducted. The results showed that soil salinity will accumulate after irrigated by higher than 5g/L of saline water, and keep balance or leach state after irrigated by lower than 3g/L of saline water. There is positive relationship between the salinity of irrigation water and the inhibition rate of corn growth. The rate of corn growth inhibition had significant positive correlation with irrigation water salinity, the threshold of irrigation water salinity for safety growth of corn was 2.9g/L, and the threshold for suitable planting was 6.1g/L.

Modeling of the interaction of short laser pulses with dielectric materials is addressed. Based on phenomenological considerations, it is shown how the transition from primary absorption to ablation takes place. This description is illustrated by two particular examples allowing to highlight specific physical phenomena. An accurate estimate of the early absorption, which strongly depends on material characteristics, is shown to play an important role. An approach to evaluate this early absorption is presented.
