China's development of electric vehicles (EV) and distributed generations (DG) are conducive to getting rid of dependence on fossil fuels and realizing energy transition. However, the time scale between electric automobile charging load and distributed generator supply is difficult to keep consistent. Which will reduce the power supply reliability of the distribution network. This article presents innovation method to improve distribution network reliability use the interaction between electric automobiles and distributed generators. First, by analyzing the output characteristics of distributed generator, the intermittent power generation model of distributed generator is established;secondly, the charging habits of electric automobile owners are studied. The stochastic charging model of electric automobile is constructed;then based on the coupling relationship between electric automobile charging and distributed generator the establishment The power supply and demand balance model of electric automobile and distributed generator is developed;Finally, the IEEE-RBTS Bus-6 system is used for simulation, and the sequential Monte Carlo evaluation method is used to calculate the reliability indexes of the distribution network with different interactive response rates. According to the simulation results, the interaction between electric vehicle and distributed generator can effectively improve the reliability of distribution network.

Analytic results are presented for the behavior of a torispherical head when subjected to internal pressure, from zero up to the ultimate pressure that the head can sustain. The geometry of a 1994 PVRC test head is used as an example. Strains, remaining wall thicknesses, and radii of curvature are calculated at the crown and in the knuckle. These data are examined for failure by tensile plastic instability. The results show no such failure in the knuckle at pressures anywhere near those predicted by limit analysis, not even when a perfectly plastic material behavior is assumed. They also show no strain concentrations (hinges) in the knuckle that are predicted by limit analysis. It is found that the knuckle suffers practically no wall-thinning in almost the entire pressure range. The only indication of failure by a tensile plastic instability is found to occur at the crown of the head.

Kaira is a prototyping tool for developing MPI programs (Bohm et al., Petri Nets 2014). The user of Kaira suggests a parallelization of a given sequential C++ code by creating a visual Petri-net based model;the tool then automatically generates the corresponding stand-alone MPI application. One of the tool modules enables to verify that the suggested parallelization has not introduced unexpected behaviors caused by unintended orders of communications among processes. The verification uses a state-space exploration procedure. Here we report on a new substantial enhancement of this procedure, leading to a significant reduction of the explored state space. The enhancement is based on the well-known methods of stubborn sets and ample sets, and is tailored to the use in the above mentioned visual model. Our concrete method is particularly simple but the experiments show that it works very well for practical examples from the area of scientific computing in distributed environment. The experiments also confirm that the Kaira model together with this method outperforms other tools for verifying MPI programs (w.r.t. instance-size/time).

Ground surface deformations due to tunneling are crucial in urban regions where damages to surface structures and utilities should be prevented. In this paper the detection and monitoring of the vertical displacements of an area situated above the axis of one of the Athens METRO tunnels, where damages on constructions were observed during the excavations, is presented. For this purpose a geodetic vertical control network is established (March 2003). The features of the network, especially those regarding its sensitivity and reliability are presented. Significant displacements ranging up to 96 mm were detected from the comparison of the adjusted heights of the network's points against those of the reference epoch to before the beginning of the underground works. Finally the conclusions withdrawn are presented.

Wind turbine condition monitoring has been extensively studied to reduce maintenance costs. Although there exist a vast amount of literature on anomaly detection for wind turbine, anomaly root cause analysis has not been fully addressed so far. To cope with this problem, we propose a denoising autoencoder (DAE) based anomaly detector and performs anomaly root cause analysis using sparse estimation. For anomaly detection, deep denoising autoencoder is learned with normal history data, with enhanced robustness compared to the conventional autoencoder. The reconstruction error from the DAE is further evaluated by the exponentially weighted moving average control chart (EWMA) to reduce the false positive rate. After anomaly detection, root cause analysis performs sparse fault estimation, with the assumption that a small number of observed variables are affected under the abnormal condition. The fault estimates are then leveraged to identify the variables most relevant to the underlying anomaly root causes. Real cases on a public dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The NRC Generic Letter 89-013 requires that utilities perform periodic analyses of their safety related heat exchangers in the Service Water system, as well as hydraulic analyses of the system to insure proper flow distribution. The availability of PC-based programs for analyzing thermal and hydraulic performance can reduce the burden of proving system perform analytically. Several safety related and nonsafety related fluid systems and heat exchangers have been successfully modeled at Carolina Power & Light's nuclear plants using PC-based programs. Effective utilization of computer modeling programs allows for rapid and accurate analyses of complex fluid systems and heat exchangers under various operating and design basis conditions. Such analyses would otherwise be difficult or impossible to obtain via hand calculations or system tests. This paper presents a general discussion of hydraulic and heat exchanger analyses programs, and considerations for choosing and utilizing PC-based programs.

Characterization of the spectral transmission of micro-patterned optical coatings requires accurate and highly localized measurement means. However, the capabilities of commercial equipments are generally limited, and either they do not provide sufficient spatial and spectral resolution, or they modify the spectral transmittance properties of the sample by using a large half angle illuminating light cone. In this work, we propose a new approach based on the recording, using a high performance photodiode array camera, of monochromatic magnified images of the sample illuminated by a filtered and fiber-coupled super-continuum laser source. In such case, the spatial resolution is directly given by the size of the individual CCD pixels and by the magnification of the imaging objective, while the spectral resolution is defined by the slit width of the filtering monochromator. This paper will give a detailed description of the main features of this spectrophotometric bench, and will demonstrate its ability to record the spectral transmittance of patterned samples with micrometer spatial resolution and sub-nanometer spectral resolution in the visible and near infrared ranges.
