Type-1 OWA operators provide an efficient way of aggregating linguistic opinions in the form of type-1 fuzzy sets for decision-makers. Like in Yagerpsilas OWA operations, the identification of an appropriate type-1 OWA operator, i.e., to determine the linguistic weights in the form of type-1 fuzzy sets, is crucial in type-1 OWA based aggregation. Indeed, these weights reflect the decision-makerspsila desired agenda for aggregating the preferences or criteria. In this paper, for the sake of identifying linguistic weights used in the type-1 OWA operators, type-2 linguistic quantifiers are proposed, in which the higher level of uncertainty of linguistic quantifiers is modelled by type-2 fuzzy sets. Some examples are provided to illustrate the proposed concepts.

A nonlinear discrete-time reduced order neural observer for the state estimation of a discrete-time unknown nonlinear system, in presence of external and internal uncertainties is presented. The observer is based on a discrete-time recurrent high order neural network (RHONN) trained with an extended Kalman filter (EKF)-based algorithm. This observer estimates the state of the unknown discrete-time nonlinear system, using a parallel configuration. The paper also includes the stability proof on the basis of the Lyapunov approach. In this paper, a parametric model of arc armature is established. And simulation models considering velocity skinning effect and pre-contact resistance are also established in this paper using COMSOL. Through this model, the effects of each parameter of the armature on the current distribution at the armature-rail interface are investigated, and by processing the results, the effects of different parameters on the current distribution at the armature-rail interface are compared. It is shown that the curvature of the arc surface, the amount of internal retraction and the length of the tailplane have the greatest influence on the current distribution at the armature-rail interface.

Many researchers in operations research field develop mathematical models and heuristic algorithms for solving real problems, e.g., scheduling, vehicle routing, facility layout, etc. It is common to develop methods that can guarantee to obtain good solutions within an acceptable (short) computational time. In our study, a conceptual online game is developed for supporting students that learn the mathematical modeling and heuristic algorithm development. Participants of the game are given various simple until difficult optimization problems that must be solved. The players are given scores based on the solution quality and computational time of their proposed methods. The game stores each player's model and algorithm that are shared between participants at the end of a game session to allow all participants to improve their problem-solving capabilities.

We demonstrate a way to suppress noise of a commercial 2.45GHz magnetron for wireless power transfer application. The impurity of the microwave spectrum was identified being attributed to the switching frequency of 76kHz in the power supply. With the decoupling capacitor disposed to the output of the high-voltage power supply driving the magnetron, the spectral purity of the magnetron was significantly enhanced.

Because of the scaling of electronic devices, quantum effects play an important role on their characteristics which are becoming more and more dominant as transistors approach to nanometer scales. Therefore, the inclusion of these effects in advanced device simulators will be mandatory to predict the behavior of future transistors targeting sub-10nm nodes. This work implements Source-to-Drain Tunneling mechanisms (SID tunneling) in Multi-Subband Ensemble Monte Carlo (MS-EMC) simulators showing the importance of quantum transport effects and the possibility of being implemented in a reliable way on advanced device simulators.
