Regular cities can be transformed into intelligent structures by leveraging information and communication technologies. Innovative city development could be significantly impacted by the Internet of Things paradigm, commonly called cloud computing. All urban locations have a lot of traffic. In this study, Internet-of- Things (IoT) based system is proposed for health care services to organize and to establish the traffic signaling and pick up a route under which road congestion can be administrated. Vehicle accident contraventions are identified by the traffic officers using an online service that is hierarchically carefully monitored or constrained. However, the suggested approach is generic and may be utilized in any major metropolis without losing its generality. Traffic lights linked to cameras in metropolitan areas can be upgraded by connecting to IoT. During a pandemic, this approach is precious. The police can easily regulate traffic from their homes using their cell phones and identify defaulters. The suggested technique aids in the separation of ambulance and rescue engines from ordinary traffic.

Increasing privacy and security concerns in intelligence-native 6G networks require quantum key distribution-secured federated learning (QKD-FL), in which data owners connected via quantum channels can train an FL global model collaboratively without exposing their local datasets. To facilitate QKD-FL, the architectural design and routing management framework are essential. However, effective implementation is still lacking. To this end, we propose a hierarchical architecture for QKD-FL systems in which QKD resources (i.e., wavelengths) and routing are jointly optimized for FL applications. In particular, we focus on adaptive QKD resource allocation and routing for FL workers to minimize the deployment cost of QKD nodes under various uncertainties, including security requirements. The experimental results show that the proposed architecture and the resource allocation and routing model can reduce the deployment cost by 7.72% compared to the CO-QBN algorithm.

We propose a coarse symbol timing scheme for wireless orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems using an optimal correlation-based circular-shifted preamble (CSP). Our proposed scheme is implemented by off-line correlation-ranking and on-line processing. The on-line processing derives an optimal CSP for transmission according to the off-line correlation-ranking, and employs a delayed multiplication operation for symbol timing. The conducted simulation results show that our proposed scheme outperforms the other existing representative schemes over typical multi-path fading channels in terms of mean square error (MSE) while keeping the computational complexity low. Blood vessel segmentation plays an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases. The performance of supervised deep-learning-based segmentation methods is dependent on the training labels, which brings a great burden to surgeons. Semi-supervised methods can solve the problem partly, but recently proposed algorithms hardly consider the complexity of the tree structures in retinal images, especially fine peripheral bronchi. Thus, we propose a novel edge-consistency based semi-supervised retinal vessel segmentation algorithm, named Semi-ECNet. Specifically, Semi-ECNet first generates two kinds of vessel maps, including an edge constraint map and a pixel-wise probability map in the model-prediction stage. Then for the loss-consistency stage, we adopt the Sobel operator and propose a novel loss strategy for the consistency constraints among these maps and the ground truth. Extensive experiments on a publicly available dataset demonstrate that our Semi-ECNet effectively leverages unlabeled data, and outperforms other state-of-the-art semi-supervised segmentation methods by introducing this innovative edge-consistency strategy.

Good quality healthcare services require effective communication between the patient and the healthcare provider. This work will help improve the areas of healthcare systems automation and optimization by applying Speech Emotion Recognition (SER) in health consultations to prevent miscommunication between patients and healthcare providers. Crowd-Sourced Emotional Multimodal Actors Dataset (CREMA-D) was used to compare the performances of different machine learning models in classifying emotions. Before feeding the raw dataset to the models, exploratory data analysis was done to determine features that should be considered for future analysis. Our results showed that depending on the emotion, there are some syllables in the text that were emphasized or took time to be pronounced by the speaker. After data analysis, the dataset was fed into different models and determined that the Support Vector Machine (SVM) is a machine-learning model for SER.
