The experimental model of in situ immune complex GN could be produced by IV injections of C-BSA 10 mg daily for about 2 weeks. After 2 week injections of C-BSA (experimental group), proteinuria began to appear and IgG and C
3 deposits in glomeruli could be found by immunofluorescence in all rabbits. After 6 week injections of C-BSA, the proteinuria in experimental group (n=13) was significantly greater in amount in comparison with the control group (n=12) injected with natural BSA (234.7±38.9 mg/24h VS 29.6±7.3 mg/24h, P<0.001).
We also found definite inflammatory changes in the experimental group——increased diameter of the glomeruli, presence of increased cellularity and formaton of thrombosis.
The process of making this model is comparatively simple, its pathological change is uniform and its incidence of success is high. we therfore consider this model as a practical one in experimental GN.
