The diversity of security requirements demands that information systems flexibly support policies,and uni-form policy description is important to implement policy-flexible system. This paper brings up new method to descriptpolicies based on trace, which can be applied to many policies used currently. Subsequently this paper refines thismethod in order to be applicable to actual system ,and discusses how to merge multiple policies.

Kernel function is the function which computes dot product in feature spaces. Both the SVMs and kernelPCA are kernel-based learning methods. In this paper, the SVMs and kernel PCA are used to tackle the face recogni-tion problem. SVMs are classifiers which have demonstrated high generalization capabilities. Kernel PCA is a featureextraction technique which is proposed as a nonlinear extension of a PCA. We illustrate the potential of SVMs andkernel PCA on the Yale database and compare with a PCA based algorithm. The experiments indicate that SVMs andkernel PCA are superior to the PCA method.

Constructing Virtual Private Network (VPN) over public network infrastructure (Internet) is becoming the foundation of the next generation network service. At present, VPN mainly focuses on the security property, while it is lack of consideration of QoS. On the basis of analyzing the Differentiated Services (Diffserv) and IPsec, we put forward a QoS-based IP VPN Architecture Model which is a tri-tier model that is composed of ESN, ISN and VPN node. It combines encrypted channel mechanism of IPsec and the edge-and-core-model of Diffserv. It provides end-to-end QoS while assures security.
