Trivalent lanthanide(Ln3+)ions doped luminescent nanocrystals(NCs),possessing fascinating optical properties such as sharp emission spectra and long-lived excited-state lifetime,have evoked much research interest for their potential applications in areas as diverse as biological detection and multiplexed *** particular,considerable success has recently been achieved in fine tuning the nanocrystal size,composition,crystal phase,morphology as well as emission color for a variety of Ln3+-doped luminescent NCs synthesized through different ***,many fundamental aspects like local crystal structure tailoring,energy transfer manipulating and optical performance enhancing in these Ln3+-doped NCs still lack sufficient understanding even for the well-developed NaYF4 and NaGdF4 nano-fluorides.
