Effect of pretreatment of substrate on synthesized diamond films on Tungsten Carbide substrate by flame combustion

A flame combustion method enables the synthesis of diamond using acetylene-oxygen gas flame combustion in ambient air. Recently, tungsten carbide (WC) has been used as cutting tools in the machining industry. To obtain diamond films and to achieve good adhesion on the WC substrate, diamond films were synthesized by flame combustion method. However, synthesized diamond films delaminate as a result of thermal stress during cooling. In this study, as a pretreatment of the substrate to prevent the delamination, a chemical processing was performed. The WC substrate was pretreated by chemical etching to roughen the surface. The substrate was etched in an ultrasonic bath using Murakami's reagent. Another processing was performed using an acid solution of hydrogen peroxide, in order to remove cobalt from the substrate surface. The pretreatment periods were varied. Moreover, the effect of the pretreatment of the substrate on synthesized diamond films by flame combustion was investigated. © 201. The Author(s)

Presented paper deals with the topic of preventive maintenance of an power equipment of typical agricultural enterprises. A decision support method was designed, incorporating the analysis of annual schedules of load diagrams of the typical agricultural enterprises and the planning of preventive maintenance of the power equipment with month priority during which maximal consumption of electric energy take place. The correction of typical load diagrams on the basis of the fact sheet about electric loading of the consumer is possible. The designed method optimizes maintenance costs without supplementary investment and running costs. An algorithm of the designed method is offered and a case study of its implementation is described in the paper.

Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) is known one of the important industrial sectors worldwide. It includes household and personal care products as well as processed foods and beverages. Because of the tight competition company must develop good marketing strategies. So, it is important for the company to know customer loyalty and also to predict the income as reference in company development planning. Data mining now is becoming popular technique for predicting customer loyalty. One of the well known data mining strategies is retaining customer's strategy. In this paper, we would present a new model for predicting customer loyalty. The model is based on Dynamic Mutual Information and Support Vector Machine (DMI-SVM) to identify the relevant factors that affect the performance of the classification of customer loyalty. The comparison of two classification methods and several selected features is given to show the effectiveness of the methods. We validated the model by 1.-fold cross validation method. Classification accuracy, precision, recall and f-measure are used to evaluate classifier performance on a test/hold-out sample. A result in this paper is shown that SVM method gives better performance accuracy than Naïve Bayes.

Tumor volume modeling and control is a promising way to design more efficient, personalized tumor treatment. This requires a model of tumor growth dynamics, and a control law to design the therapy. Tumor growth models are usually nonlinear, while most control laws are linear, and the controllers are designed for approximate linear models thus stable operation is guaranteed only locally. We consider the application of a linear state feedback for a nonlinear tumor growth model, and carry out the qualitative analysis of the closed-loop model. We give conditions for the control law parameters to have a globally stable closed-loop system, and analyze the effect of the control law parameters on the steady-state tumor volume and the maximal drug injection.

The Belle II experiment at the Super Flavour Factory SuperKEKB in Tsukuba, Japan, has started regular operation with its final detector setup in spring 201.. The Belle II vertexing system consists of four layers of double sided silicon strips (SVD) and two layers of DEPFET pixel sensors (PXD). These inner most pixel layers are arranged at radii of 1. mm and 22 mm around the beam pipe. The sensors with pixel sizes down to 50 µm × 55 µm are thinned down to 75 µm thickness to minimize multiple scattering. They are most crucial for reconstructing the secondary decay vertices of short lived B and D mesons with a precision of better than 1. microns. We propose a new method of presenting two-dimensional information, such as figures and graphs, on a tactile display so that visually impaired people are able to perceive them quickly and accurately. The new presentation method is developed for a tactile-proprioceptive display, which can present information on not only conventional "concave-convex" tactile display, but also vibration presentation in arbitrary area on a tactile display and mechanical leading presentation by mechanically leading user's fingers using haptic device. In this paper, we outline the abovementioned two presentation method and the developed tactile-prop display, and objectively evaluate the effects of the local area vibration presentation method as an integral part of the tactile-prop display in comparison with the conventional "concave-convex" presentation method. We conducted experiments to evaluate the effects of the proposed local area vibration presentation method using two typical content patterns. In Experiment 1. discreetly dispersed objects are searched, and in Experiment 2, the cross graphs of line segments are distinguished and perceived. The experiments have proved that the method is effective in reducing search and cognitive time as well as identifying the correct cognition of cross graphs, as compared to the "concave-convex" tactile presentation method.

The article deals with the problem of separation of combed heap of winter wheat with an experimental working unit consisting of a segregator and a sieve. In order to expand the range of information on the qualitative side of the functioning of the working unit, it is suggested to introduce an additional assessment parameter – the impurity separation efficiency coefficient. Experimental studies of the technological process of the working unit were carried out using the mathematical theory of experimental design, where the response function was represented by the functional dependence of the change in the impurity separation efficiency coefficient on the specific feed of the combed heap, the oscillation frequency of the working unit and the diameter of the sieve openings. To conduct the experimental studies, the Box-Behnken design was selected. Verification of the significance of the obtained coefficients according to Student's t-test showed that all the coefficients were significant. The adequacy of the model was assessed according to Fisher's test. As a result of the calculations, it was established that the model was adequate and could be used for further research.

Recent developments in data science in general and machine learning in particular have transformed the way experts envision the future of surgery. Surgical Data science (SDS) is a new research field that aims to improve the quality of interventional healthcare through the capture, organization, analysis and modeling of data. While an increasing number of data-driven approaches and clinical applications have been studied in the fields of radiological and clinical data science, translational success stories are still lacking in surgery. In this publication, we shed light on the underlying reasons and provide a roadmap for future advances in the field. Based on an international workshop involving leading researchers in the field of SDS, we review current practice, key achievements and initiatives as well as available standards and tools for a number of topics relevant to the field, namely (1. infrastructure for data acquisition, storage and access in the presence of regulatory constraints, (2) data annotation and sharing and (3) data analytics. We further complement this technical perspective with (4) a review of currently available SDS products and the translational progress from academia and (5) a roadmap for faster clinical translation and exploitation of the full potential of SDS, based on an international multi-round Delphi process. © 2020, CC BY.
