In order to meet the requirements of the navigation system for antennas with wide 3-dB AR beam-width, this paper proposes an axial-ratio beam-width enhancement of antenna based on electromagnetic bandgap (EBG). The effect of surface wave on the circular polarization of the antenna is suppressed by loading two layers of mushroom-like EBG unit cells around the patch. The loading of the EBG increases the 3-dB AR beam-width of the antenna by 78% in the xoz plane and the by 84% in the yoz plane, the simulation and test results demonstrate the effectiveness of this method.

This paper proposes a dual-band antenna based on the electromagnetic band gap structure suitable for WLAN communication systems. The proposed antenna is designed to work at 2.45/5.8 GHz WLAN band. By loading the EBG structure directly below a dual-frequency monopole antenna, the in-phase superposition of electromagnetic waves at the center frequency of the antenna is achieved. The antenna exhibits high gains of near 8.0 and 1..0 dB at the low and high working frequencies while maintaining the low profile characteristics.

A low-profile circularly polarized Metasurfaces antenna based on compact coplanar waveguide (CPW) feed was proposed. The Metasurfaces consists of 1. periodic square-cut metal patches. An hourglass coupled slot was adopted to achieve broadband impedance matching. The antenna has a simple structure and a low cross section, and it can be implemented by a layer of a printed circuit substrate. A circular polarized wave is generated by changing the size of the cut angle of the Metasurfaces, and at the same time, the impedance bandwidth can be widened. To verify the simulation results, a 1. 0 ×1. 0 ×0.05λ 0 (at 1. GHz) model antenna was fabricated and measured. The simulation and measurement results show good consistency. The test results show that the -1.dB return loss bandwidth reaches 45.3 %, and the circular polarization axis ratio(AR) is less than 3dB with a bandwidth of 1..5%.

A hybrid twelve-antenna array operating in the 3.3-3.6 GHz and 4.8-5.0 GHz band for multiple input multiple output (MIMO) applications in 5G smartphones is proposed. The proposed hybrid antenna array elements are symmetrically placed along the long edges of the smartphone, and they are composed of two inverted-F antennas (IFA) with different structural parameters. Simulated antenna isolation is better than -1..5 dB without any decoupling structures. Moreover, simulated radiation patterns, antenna efficiencies, and envelop correlation coefficients are also given in the paper.

Finding correspondences between two related feature point sets is a basic task in computer vision and pattern recognition. In this paper, we present a novel method for point pattern matching via spectral graph analysis. In particular, we aim to render the spectral matching algorithm more robust for positional jitter and outlier. A local structural descriptor, namely the spectral context, is proposed to describe the attribute domain of point sets, which is fundamentally different from the previous methods. Furthermore, the approximate distance order is defined and employed as the metric for geometric consistency of neighboring points in this work. By combining these two novel ingredients, we formulate feature point set matching as an optimization problem with one-to-one constraints. The correspondences are then obtained by maximizing the given objective function via the technique of probabilistic relaxation. Comparative experiments conducted on both synthetic and real data demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, especially in the presence of positional jitter and outliers. © 201. This research applies ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm to minimizing the makespan and the maximum tardiness for scheduling the jobs with non-identical sizes and release time on parallel batch process machines. To improve search efficiency, a new first job selection strategy and a dynamic heuristic are provided. Additionally, a new role, called P-ANT, is designed to improve the search ability of the ant colony. To solve the studied problem, a novel multi-objective ACO algorithm with P-ANT (MACOP) is proposed. The MACOP is compared with several other state-of-the-art algorithms through extensive experiments. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed MACOP algorithm.

Despite the Graph Neural Networks' (GNNs) pro-ficiency in analyzing graph data, achieving high-accuracy and interpretable predictions remains challenging. Existing GNN interpreters typically provide post-hoc explanations disjointed from GNNs' predictions, resulting in misrepresentations. Self-explainable GNNs offer built-in explanations during the training process. However, they cannot exploit the explanatory outcomes to augment prediction performance, and they fail to provide high-quality explanations of node features and require additional processes to generate explainable subgraphs, which is costly. To address the aforementioned limitations, we propose a self-explained and self-supervised graph neural network (SES) to bridge the gap between explainability and prediction. SES comprises two processes: explainable training and enhanced predictive learning. During explainable training, SES employs a global mask generator co-trained with a graph encoder and directly produces crucial structure and feature masks, reducing time consumption and providing node feature and subgraph explanations. In the enhanced predictive learning phase, mask-based positive-negative pairs are constructed utilizing the ex-planations to compute a triplet loss and enhance the node representations by contrastive learning. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of SES on multiple datasets and tasks. SES outperforms baselines on real-world node classification datasets by notable margins of up to 2.59% and achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance in explanation tasks on synthetic datasets with improvements of up to 3.0%. Moreover, SES delivers more coherent explanations on real-world datasets, has a fourfold increase in Fidelity+ score for explanation quality, and demonstrates faster training and expla-nation generating times. To our knowledge, SES is a pioneering GNN to achieve SOTA performance on both explanation and prediction tasks.

The research of the relationship between eye-movement and human activity has become a hot spot in the field of the human-computer interaction. In order to recognize the eye-movement patterns related to reading tasks, an algorithm based on electrooculogram(EOG) has been proposed in this paper. In the proposed approach, wavelet packet decomposition was firstly used to smooth EOG signals during reading tasks, and then, according to the predefined coding strategy, the smoothed EOG waveform is translated into a coding string to represent current reading state. Finally, Levenshtein distance is employed to measure the similarity of the template string and the output string. The experiments under the experimental paradigms of autonomy-reading and stimulus-reading and reading with rest state have been carried out. The mean accurate has reached 90%. The experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm can effectively recognize human reading activity state.

Real-time monitoring of meteorological conditions has been arousing increasing attention in current production and life. However, considering the challenges of deployment costs and demand for low power consumption, existing monitoring system needs to be improved to meet the requirements of new Internet-of-Things (IoT) applications. Therefore, a wireless sensor network system dedicated for meteorological monitoring is studied based on Long Range (LoRa) in this paper. Firstly, our meteorological monitoring system is designed for real-time services such as agricultural production demand. Then, the implementation of the proposed system is presented in detail as well as the prototype system is deployed on the campus. Finally, various experiments are conducted to provide the results for demonstrating the reliability and effectiveness of the proposed system.

In many areas of pattern recognition and machine learning, subspace selection is an essential step. Fisher's linear discriminant analysis (LDA) is one of the most well-known linear subspace selection methods. However, LDA suffers from the class separation problem. The projection to a subspace tends to merge close class pairs. A recent result, named maximizing the geometric mean of Kullback-Leibler (KL) divergences of class pairs (MGMD), can significantly reduce the class separation problem. Furthermore, maximizing the harmonic mean of Kullback-Leibler (KL) divergences of class pairs (MHMD) emphasizes smaller divergences more than MGMD, and deals with the class separation problem more effectively. However, in many applications, labeled data are very limited while unlabeled data can be easily obtained. The estimation of divergences of class pairs is unstable using inadequate labeled data. To take advantage of unlabeled data for subspace selection, semi-supervised MHMD (SSMHMD) is proposed using graph Laplacian as normalization. Quasi-Newton method is adopted to solve the optimization problem. Experiments on synthetic data and real image data show the validity of SSMHMD.
