The Diwata-2 microsatellite is a 56 kg optical microsatellite that features different optical sensors such as the medium resolution Spaceborne Multispectral Sensor (SMI) and a high-resolution sensor called High Precision Telescope (HPT). This research aims to develop an automated georeferencing workflow for coregistered multiband HPT and SMI imagery with a GSD of 5 meters and 1.7 meters respectively. Georeferencing is done using a mixture of FAST and SIFT feature matching algorithms where HPT imagery used SIFT descriptors and detectors and SMI used FAST detectors and SIFT descriptors. The research used freely available Landsat- 8 imagery which was processed into cloud-free mosaics as reference data. Accuracy assessment is automated using AROSICS software which performs geometric correction and calculates the RMSE of local shifts based on image tie points which are automatically generated using the Diwata image as secondary image and Landsat-8 as reference image. Output of the feature matching algorithms has achieved high accuracy with an average RMSE value of 2.55 meters for HPT imagery and 65.96 meters for SMI imagery. Both RMSE values are close to half the GSD of both sensors which indicate sub-pixel precision. Future research for this method includes additional method for keypoint filtering to further increase the accuracy of the feature matching. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This research aims to develop Newton's Law encyclopedias based on Advance Organizer, that is suitable for use as a source of learning. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) using ADDIE model. The steps of ADDIE model are analyze, develop, implement, and evaluate. The research instrument was obtained from interviews, observation, and questionnaires. The encyclopedia cover is designed to illustrate the content of the material on this product. The title of each content is arranged alphabetically in Bahasa. The content of the encyclopedia consists of (1. dinamometer, (2) force, (3) weight, (4) frictional force, (5) normal force, (6) centripetal force, (7) tension force, (8) Newton's First Law, (9) Newton's Second Law, (1.) Newton's Third Law, (1.) gravitional force, (1.) Kepler's Law, (1.) gravity accelaration. Finally, the structure of this encyclopedia is structured based on steps in Advance Organizer model, there are presentaion of Advance Organizer, presentation of learning task, and strengthening cognitive organization. This encyclopedia expected to be feasible of use as a learning resource for textbook companion in senior high school based on validated by experts. © 201. Tardigrades of Hardin County, Iowa: Seven New Records from Iowa, USA

Although Iowa was the site of one of the earliest collections of tardigrades in the United States in 1.73, only two additional papers on the tardigrades of this state have been published in the intervening 1.7 years. These earlier papers focused on tardigrades in central Iowa, living in either freshwater algae or in deciduous trees, and reported a total of only five recognized species in four genera. This project expands the known tardigrade diversity of the state through collection of specimens from both deciduous and coniferous trees in northern Iowa. Tardigrades were extracted from 29 moss and lichen samples collected from deciduous and coniferous trees in Hardin County during December 201.. 485 adult specimens and 74 eggs were collected, representing seven species (Milnesium cf. barbadosense, Milnesium burgessi, Milnesium eurystomum, Milnesium swansoni, Ramazzottius sp., Macrobiotus hibiscus, and Paramacrobiotus tonollii). Of these, one is a new species record for the United States (Milnesium cf. barbadosense), and all are new records for the state of Iowa. This is also the first report of a member of the genus Ramazzottius in Iowa. Pseudoplates, tardigrade structures that were only described for the first time in 201., were also observed in all Milnesium specimens.

Analysis of student's learning achievement using PhET interactive simulation and laboratory kit of gas kinetic theory

This Quasi Experimental research aims to analyze the learning achievement of grade XI students of Public Senior High School in Bekasi, West Java-Indonesia. Two experiment science classes were selected as samples by using purposive random sampling. The 1.t sample class was taught using laboratory kit activity; whirls the 2nd sample class was using PhET interactive simulation. The data was collected using written test to measure students' achievement and then statistically analyzed using t-test to determine the hypothesis either be accepted or not. The normal distribution and homogeneity tests were also applied to know that the data was normally distributed, and all the variances were homogeneous with level of significant >0.05. The t test result indicated that the value of tcalculation (3,052) was greater than and tTable (1.667) that shown that there was a significant difference between the learning achievement of class 1.and 2 with mean value of 70.85 and 63.26, respectively. In conclusion that learning process using PhET interactive simulation provided higher students' achievement compared to those class which apply laboratory kit activity of gas kinetic theory.

Context. Imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes (IACTs) are used to observe very high-energy photons from the ground. Gamma rays are indirectly detected through the Cherenkov light emitted by the air showers they induce. The new generation of experiments, in particular the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO), sets ambitious goals for discoveries of new gamma-ray sources and precise measurements of the already discovered ones. To achieve these goals, both hardware and data analysis must employ cutting-edge techniques. This also applies to the LST-1. the first IACT built for the CTAO, which is currently taking data on the Canary island of La Palma. Aims. This paper introduces a new event reconstruction technique for IACT data, aiming to improve the image reconstruction quality and the discrimination between the signal and the background from misidentified hadrons and electrons. Methods. The technique models the development of the extensive air shower signal, recorded as a waveform per pixel, seen by CTAO telescopes’ cameras. Model parameters are subsequently passed to random forest regressors and classifiers to extract information on the primary particle. Results. The new reconstruction was applied to simulated data and to data from observations of the Crab Nebula performed by the LST-1. The event reconstruction method presented here shows promising performance improvements. The angular and energy resolution, and the sensitivity, are improved by 1. to 20% over most of the energy range. At low energy, improvements reach up to 22%, 47%, and 50%, respectively. A future extension of the method to stereoscopic analysis for telescope arrays will be the next important step. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Productivity and Selenium Concentrations in Egg and Tissue of Laying Quails Fed Selenium from Hydroponically Produced Selenium-Enriched Kale Sprout (Brassica oleracea var. alboglabra L.)

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of Se from hydroponically produced Se-enriched kale sprout (HPSeKS) on productive performance, egg quality, and Se concentrations in egg and tissue of laying quails. Two-hundred quails, 63 days of age, were divided into four groups. Each group consisted of five replicates and each replicate had ten birds, according to a completely randomized design. The experiment lasted for 6 weeks. The dietary treatments were T1.(control diet), T2 (control diet plus 0.2 mg Se/kg from sodium selenite), T3 (control diet plus 0.2 mg Se/kg from Se-enriched yeast), T4 (control diet plus 0.2 mg Se/kg from HPSeKS). The findings revealed that productive performance and egg quality of quails were not altered (p > 0.05) by Se sources. Whole egg Se concentrations of quails fed Se from HPSeKS and Se-enriched yeast were higher (p < 0.05) than that of quails fed the control diet. Breast muscle Se concentrations in quails fed Se from HPSeKS were higher (p < 0.05) than that of quails fed Se from sodium selenite and Se-enriched yeast. Heart tissue Se concentrations of quails fed Se from Se-enriched yeast and HPSeKS were similar (p > 0.05), but higher (p < 0.05) than that of quails fed Se from sodium selenite. The results reveal that Se from HPSeKS did not change the performance and egg quality of quails. The effectiveness of Se from HPSeKS was comparable to that of Se-enriched yeast, which was higher than that of Se from sodium selenite.

A large number and variety of metal-matrix composites have been developed, many of them tailored to specific applications and the properties of interest often include strength, stiffness, wear resistance or density. Low density is important for uses in the transport industry and in electronics applications where low inertia is required for rapidly moving parts. Conventional magnesium alloys are already attractive candidate materials in these fields but could be made even more attractive by a further reduction in density; indeed, a reduction in density is often desirable in many other alloy systems.
