Pre-Braking Behaviors Analysis Based on Hilbert-Huang Transform: Effect of Driving Experience, Gender, and Physique on Decomposed Motion

Previous studies shown that about 90% of traffic accidents are due to human causes, which means that human factors may affect a driver's braking behaviors and thus their driving safety, especially when the driver makes a braking motion. However, most of the relevant studies have mounted sensors on the brake pad, ignoring to some extent the analysis of the driver's behavior before the brake pad is pressed (Pre-braking). Therefore, to determine the effect of different human factors on the driver's pre-braking behaviors in details, this study focused on analyzing drivers' body actions by motion capture device and using the Hilbert-Huang Transform method to decompose the realistic complex pre-braking actions to sub-actions IMF1 and IMF2. Analyzing results shown that IMF1 is a common and necessary action when pre-braking for all drivers, but IMF2 is more likely to be a redundant action during pre-braking which almost exclusively were observed in people with specific physique size (knee height 50cm). Moreover, different driving experience and gender may affect the timing of such redundant actions appearing. The results of this study will be useful in decomposing and discerning the specific actions that lead to accidents, provide useful insights into driver training for novice drivers and provide guidance for the construction of daily automated drive-er assistance or accident prevention systems (advanced driver assistance systems ADASs). © 2022, The Authors. At the present time, COVID-19 considers the pandemic that has most dangerous, representing a great threat to both, Communities and individuals especially scientist and researchers. Determine the infection in the early time is the only way to avoid getting worst especially for those who have respiratory diseases. The researchers working daily without stopping to get the possible solutions to rescue patients or who have the Symptoms of the disease. CT-Scans and X-rays for the lungs consider one of the most popular methods used by the researchers, where analyzing this image to detect the infection by this pandemic. However, it demands long time to examine each test, beside a large number of radiology specialists will be *** data may be an interesting signal data samples that can be used to detect the COVID-19 via number of oxygen blood tests, in this research, detection of COVID-19 through some tests of oxygen signals is an essential goal. Tests like oxygen saturation (spO2), Pulse Oximetry (plusOX), Arterial blood gas (ABG) and Carboxyhaemoglobin (COHb) are the most common and important test for this purpose. In this research, a method based on deep neural network as well as machine learning methods using (stochastic gradient decision, decision tree, random forest, linear regression and k-nearest neighbour) was proposed for detecting COVID-19 through analysing the X-rays of patients which will look for visual indicators found in the chest radiography imaging of COVID-19 patients. Also proposed architecture can be applied to the oxygen data when it will be available (lack of well-structured data).

Cooperative perception has been widely used in autonomous driving to alleviate the inherent limitation of single automated vehicle perception. To enable cooperation, vehicleto- vehicle (V2V) communication plays an indispensable role. This work analyzes the performance of cooperative perception accounting for communications channel impairments. Different fusion methods and channel impairments are evaluated. A new late fusion scheme is proposed to leverage the robustness of intermediate features. In order to compress the data size incurred by cooperation, a convolution neural network-based autoencoder is adopted. Numerical results demonstrate that intermediate fusion is more robust to channel impairments than early fusion and late fusion, when the SNR is greater than 0 dB. Also, the proposed fusion scheme outperforms the conventional late fusion using detection outputs, and autoencoder provides a good compromise between detection accuracy and bandwidth usage. © 2023, CC BY.

Perception of the driving environment is critical for collision avoidance and route planning to ensure driving safety. Cooperative perception has been widely studied as an effective approach to addressing the shortcomings of single-vehicle perception. However, the practical limitations of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications have not been adequately investigated. In particular, current cooperative fusion models rely on supervised models and do not address dynamic performance degradation caused by arbitrary channel impairments. In this paper, a self-supervised adaptive weighting model is proposed for intermediate fusion to mitigate the adverse effects of channel distortion. The performance of cooperative perception is investigated in different system settings. Rician fading and imperfect channel state information (CSI) are also considered. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed adaptive weighting algorithm significantly outperforms the benchmarks without weighting. Visualization examples validate that the proposed weighting algorithm can flexibly adapt to various channel conditions. Moreover, the adaptive weighting algorithm demonstrates good generalization to untrained channels and test datasets from different domains. © 2023, CC BY.

Background: To evaluate the effect of the weighting of input imaging combo and ADC threshold on the performance of the U-Net and to find an optimized input imaging combo and ADC threshold in segmenting acute ischemic stroke (AIS) lesion. Methods: This study retrospectively enrolled a total of 212 patients having AIS. Four combos, including ADC-ADC-ADC (AAA), DWI-ADC-ADC (DAA), DWI-DWI-ADC (DDA), and DWI-DWI-DWI (DDD), were used as input images, respectively. Three ADC thresholds including 0.6, 0.8 and 1.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s were applied. Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) was used to evaluate the segmentation performance of U-Nets. Nonparametric Kruskal–Wallis test with Tukey–Kramer post-hoc tests were used for comparison. A p <.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The DSC significantly varied among different combos of images and different ADC thresholds. Hybrid U-Nets outperformed uniform U-Nets at ADC thresholds of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s and 0.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s (p <.001). The U-Net with imaging combo of DDD had segmentation performance similar to hybrid U-Nets at an ADC threshold of 1.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s (p =.062 to 1). The U-Net using the imaging combo of DAA at the ADC threshold of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s achieved the highest DSC in the segmentation of AIS lesion. Conclusions: The segmentation performance of U-Net for AIS varies among the input imaging combos and ADC thresholds. The U-Net is optimized by choosing the imaging combo of DAA at an ADC threshold of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s in segmentating AIS lesion with highest DSC. While a considerable body of research addresses firms’ endeavors toward environmental sustainability, the prominence of green computing has been somewhat eclipsed by impediments hindering its swift integration and development. To address this gap, this study conducted a comprehensive analysis, identifying twelve distinct barriers categorized into adoption costs, technological challenges, and internal obstacles. Through consultation with fifteen field experts, the study employed Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) and Matrice d’Impacts Croises Multipication Applique´ an Classment (MICMAC) methodologies to scrutinize the influences among these barriers. The findings illuminated that firm size and legal constraints emerge as pivotal and autonomous factors exerting substantial influence on the adoption. Additionally, the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) method was deployed to ascertain the relative importance of these barriers and delineate their causal relationships. Notably, the DEMATEL results underscored that, according to experts, adoption cost barriers hold greater significance compared to other dimensions. Transactional risk, technological complexity, and switching cost were identified as pivotal barriers within their respective dimensions. The decision-making framework formulated in this study offers valuable insights for managers and practitioners, providing a nuanced understanding of the interplay between identified barriers and their implications for implementing green computing initiatives. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature B.V. 2024.

A Unified Graph-Theoretic Framework for Free-Fermion Solvability

We show that a quantum spin system has an exact description by non-interacting fermions if its frustration graph is claw-free and contains a simplicial clique. The frustration graph of a spin model captures the pairwise anticommutation relations between Pauli terms of its Hamiltonian in a given basis. This result captures a vast family of known free-fermion solutions. In previous work, it was shown that a free-fermion solution exists if the frustration graph is either a line graph, or (even-hole, claw)-free. The former case generalizes the celebrated Jordan-Wigner transformation and includes the exact solution to the Kitaev honeycomb model. The latter case generalizes a non-local solution to the four-fermion model given by Fendley. Our characterization unifies these two approaches, extending generalized Jordan-Wigner solutions to the non-local setting and generalizing the four-fermion solution to models of arbitrary spatial dimension. Our key technical insight is the identification of a class of cycle symmetries for all models with claw-free frustration graphs. We prove that these symmetries commute, and this allows us to apply Fendley's solution method to each symmetric subspace independently. Finally, we give a physical description of the fermion modes in terms of operators generated by repeated commutation with the Hamiltonian. This connects our framework to the developing body of work on operator Krylov subspaces. Our results deepen the connection between many-body physics and the mathematical theory of claw-free graphs. Purpose: Software modelling and Model-Driven engineering (MDE) is traditionally studied from a technical perspective. However, one of the core motivations behind the use of software models is inherently human-centred. Models aim to enable practitioners to communicate about software designs, make software understandable, or make software easier to write through domain-specific modelling languages. Several recent studies challenge the idea that these aims can always be reached and indicate that human factors play a role in the success of MDE. However, there is an under-representation of research focusing on human factors in modelling. Methods: During a GI-Dagstuhl seminar, topics related to human factors in modelling were discussed by 26 expert participants from research and industry. Results: In breakout groups, five topics were covered in depth, namely modelling human aspects, factors of modeller experience, diversity and inclusion in MDE, collaboration and MDE, and teaching human-aware MDE. Conclusion: We summarise our insights gained during the discussions on the five topics. We formulate research goals, questions, and propositions that support directing future initiatives towards an MDE community that is aware of and supportive of human factors and values. © 2024, CC BY.
