Enhancing Diabetic Retinopathy Diagnosis with ResNet-50-Based Transfer Learning: A Promising Approach

Diabetic retinopathy is considered the leading cause of blindness in the population. High blood sugar levels can damage the tiny blood vessels in the retina at any time, leading to retinal detachment and sometimes glaucoma blindness. Treatment involves maintaining the current visual quality of the patient, as the disease is irreversible. Early diagnosis and timely treatment are crucial to minimizing the risk of vision loss. However, existing DR recognition strategies face numerous challenges, such as limited training datasets, high training loss, high-dimensional features, and high misclassification rates, which can significantly affect classification accuracies. In this paper, we propose a ResNet-50-based transfer learning method for classifying DR, which leverages the knowledge and expertise gained from training on a large dataset such as ImageNet. Our method involves preprocessing and segmenting the input images, which are then fed into ResNet-50 for extracting optimal features. We freeze a few layers of the pre-trained ResNet-50 and add Global Average Pooling to generate feature maps. The reduced feature maps are then classified to categorize the type of diabetic retinopathy. We evaluated the proposed method on 40 Real-time fundus images gathered from ICF Hospital together with the APTOS-2019 dataset and used various metrics to evaluate its performance. The experimentation results revealed that the proposed method achieved an accuracy of 99.82%, a sensitivity of 99%, a specificity of 96%, and an AUC score of 0.99 compared to existing DR recognition techniques. Overall, our ResNet-50-based transfer learning method presents a promising approach for DR classification and addresses the existing challenges of DR recognition strategies. Unusual crowd analysis is an important problem in surveillance video due to their features cannot be extracted efficiently on the crowd scenes. To overcome this challenge, this paper introduced the appearance and motion based unusual events detection method by using multiple moving objects. This method includes appearance and motion based computation, and moving objects trajectory analysis. By using these all techniques, the unusual crowds and their activities can be obtained by analyzing moving objects size and the distance among multiple moving objects. Two benchmark datasets such as PETS 2009 and UMN are used for the experimental results. Also, several existing algorithms are compared with the proposed method to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed work. Cancer detection is critical for early diagnosis and treatment, and non-invasive imaging methods like microwave imaging have shown promise in this domain. This research presents a CNN-based machine learning model to improve the speed and accuracy of microwave medical imaging for cancer detection. Leveraging large datasets, advanced preprocessing techniques such as noise removal, normalization, and data augmentation were applied. The proposed model includes a multi-layer CNN architecture, optimized using stochastic gradient descent (SGD) and categorical cross-entropy loss functions. Evaluation metrics, including accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity, were calculated from a confusion matrix. The system achieved 95.6% accuracy, 94% sensitivity, and 96% specificity, outperforming traditional models both in terms of accuracy and computational efficiency. The results suggest that the proposed model is well-suited for real-time clinical applications. Future work will focus on expanding the dataset and integrating multimodal imaging to enhance diagnostic precision. © 2024 IEEE.

COVID-19, is one of the deadliest pandemic hit globally crises in the recent years, continues to persist with emerging variants of concern. Due to the virus's high transmissibility, rapid and precise detection of COVID-19 is crucial for timely medical intervention. This research presents an advanced deep transfer learning approach for quantifying the severity of COVID-19 infection from CT lung images. Using computer vision techniques, lung regions were extracted from CT scans through semantic segmentation using SegNet. An enhanced U-Net architecture, integrated with the Atrous Spatial Pyramid Pooling (ASPP) technique, was employed to semantically segment the infected regions of the lungs. Based on the segmented infection areas, the severity of the infection was classified into mild, moderate, and severe. The proposed framework, which incorporates lung extraction followed by Ground-Glass Opacity (GGO) segmentation, achieves the segmentation accuracy of 96% and a prediction accuracy of 98.9%. © 2024 IEEE.

The invention of Phasor Measurement Units(PMUs)produce synchronized phasor measurements with high resolution real time monitoring and control of power system in smart grids that make *** are used in transmitting data to Phasor Data Concentrators(PDC)placed in control centers for monitoring purpose.A primary concern of system operators in control centers is maintaining safe and efficient operation of the power *** can be achieved by continuous monitoring of the PMU data that contains both normal and abnormal *** normal data indicates the normal behavior of the grid whereas the abnormal data indicates fault or abnormal conditions in power *** a result,detecting anomalies/abnormal conditions in the fast flowing PMU data that reflects the status of the power system is critical.A novel methodology for detecting and categorizing abnormalities in streaming PMU data is presented in this *** proposed method consists of three modules namely,offline Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM),online GMM for identifying anomalies and clustering ensemble model for classifying the *** significant features of the proposed method are detecting anomalies while taking into account of multivariate nature of the PMU dataset,adapting to concept drift in the flowing PMU data without retraining the existing model unnecessarily and classifying the *** proposed model is implemented in Python and the testing results prove that the proposed model is well suited for detection and classification of anomalies on the fly.

This paper presents a novel medical imaging framework, Efficient Parallel Deep Transfer SubNet+-based Explainable Model (EPDTNet + -EM), designed to improve the detection and classification of abnormalities in medical images. The model integrates Enhanced Exponential Transfer Learning (En-ETL) and the Parallel SubNet (PSNet +) architecture, addressing challenges like overfitting, high computational cost, and limited generalization across complex datasets. En-ETL accelerates learning and enhances precision, while PSNet + balances computational efficiency and performance through parallel convolutional layers and an axis attention mechanism. The proposed framework preprocesses medical images using resizing, noise removal, and contrast enhancement, ensuring high-quality inputs for analysis. For classification, the PSNet + model categorizes medical images into normal and abnormal cases. Explainable AI (XAI) is applied to highlight key features in classified images, improving interpretability and clinical decision-making. Experimental results validate the framework on various datasets, including MRI, CT, X-ray, and mammography images. The proposed model achieves a classification accuracy of 98.83%, a false positive rate of 2%, and an execution time of 5.3 ms. Comparative Analysis show superior performance over existing approaches in classification accuracy and efficiency. Innovative technology solutions have been developed in response to the growing need for effective and customized client contact on e-commerce platforms. This work introduces an intelligent chatbot system that uses machine learning and text mining techniques to improve user satisfaction and answer customer concerns. In the ever-changing realm of e-commerce, building trust is crucial for both customers and sellers. Reputation systems play a vital role in enabling informed decision-making by providing vendor ratings and reviews. Conventional reputation systems are typically inadequate in dealing with contemporary issues including privacy, identity theft, and feedback fraud. In order to address these challenges, we suggest implementing a decentralized reputation system that places a high value on privacy and effectively counters existing risks. Our architecture utilizes two permissioned blockchains, Hyperledger Indy for decentralized identity management through verifiable credentials and Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) technology, guaranteeing anonymity and authenticity, and Hyperledger Fabric for executing smart contracts, facilitating intricate business logic. The system incorporates verified vendor identities, transaction feedback tokens, and discount tokens to encourage genuine evaluations. Smart contracts implemented on the Hyperledger Fabric platform provide the security and transparency of the feedback process, hence reducing the occurrence of biased feedback and identity assaults. This technique provides a strong and reliable answer to the issues faced in e-commerce. It ensures the protection of private information and enables the verification of digital identities while maintaining privacy. The implementation of feedback and discount tokens promotes the provision of precise input, mitigating unjust practices and bolstering the dependability and confidence in the system. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our methodology using Zero Knowledge Proofs (ZKP), highlighting its importance in establishing confidence within the context of blockchain. The basis of this project is to investigate whether the YOLO, an object detection algorithm where 'You Only Look Once' constitutes the name, could be applied to develop FMCG management;together with the management of FMCG, it becomes the gateway to increasing retail precision, efficiency, and agility. Under real-time processing, the system detects and counts FMCG products on retail shelves with an accuracy rate of 92.5%. This accuracy ensures that the optimum stock levels are maintained and there will be no discrepancies. The system processes video feeds at 0.08 seconds per frame, thus allowing inventory data to be updated in real-time to enable quick, data-driven decisions. YOLO's flexibility ensures consistent performance across different store layouts and product types. This system integrates with other retail management tools and allows integrating inventory data in the real time. This means that it would be made available with invaluable insights which would prevent stock depletion while helping to curtail costs. This project takes YOLO ahead of just being a game changer in the FMCG inventory management while operating to reduce expenses and customer satisfaction due to product availability. © 2024 IEEE.
