Class-conditional domain adaptation for semantic segmentation

Semantic segmentation is an important sub-task for many ***,pixel-level ground-truth labeling is costly,and there is a tendency to overfit to training data,thereby limiting the generalization *** domain adaptation can potentially address these problems by allowing systems trained on labelled datasets from the source domain(including less expensive synthetic domain)to be adapted to a novel target *** conventional approach involves automatic extraction and alignment of the representations of source and target domains *** limitation of this approach is that it tends to neglect the differences between classes:representations of certain classes can be more easily extracted and aligned between the source and target domains than others,limiting the adaptation over all ***,we address:this problem by introducing a Class-Conditional Domain Adaptation(CCDA)*** incorporates a class-conditional multi-scale discriminator and class-conditional losses for both segmentation and ***,they measure the segmentation,shift the domain in a classconditional manner,and equalize the loss over *** results demonstrate that the performance of our CCDA method matches,and in some cases,surpasses that of state-of-the-art methods.

Partitioned 2D Set-Pruning Segment Trees with Compressed Buckets for Multi-Dimensional Packet Classification

Multi-dimensional packet classification is one of the most important functions to support various services in next generation routers. Both the memory-efficient data structure to support larger rule tables and the hardware architecture to achieve a higher throughput are desired. In this paper, we propose a parallel and pipelined architecture called Set-Pruning Segment Trees with Buckets (SPSTwB) for multi-dimensional packet classification. SPSTwB significantly reduces rule duplication based on a novel partitioning scheme and an efficient bucket merging scheme. The key feature of our proposed architecture is that memory consumption is reduced significantly regardless of the characteristics of various rule tables. In addition, the logic complexity of each pipeline stage is simplified by not storing rule IDs and priorities and thus it can run at a high clock rate. The proposed scheme needs less than 20 bytes per rule for various 100 K rule tables generated by ClassBench. In addition, the proposed scheme supports fast incremental rule update. The proposed pipelined architecture can achieve a throughput of 134 Gbps from the implementation on Xilinx Virtex-7 FPGA device with dual-ported Block RAM. © The British computer Society 2024. Extended reality (XR) and 6G networks are set to transform mobile immersive experiences, with privacy and security being paramount in XR communications. Achieving secure and reliable XR experiences while meeting high-resolution and low-latency requirements is challenging for wireless networks. A novel security-aware cross-layer communication management framework is proposed, employing zero-trust spatiotemporal physical layer level manipulations for moving-target defense. Driven by deep reinforcement learning and real-time monitoring, the proposed framework adaptively reprograms the network configuration to maximize the user’s quality of experience (QoE), reduce the overall latency, and minimize the attacker’s intercept probability. The framework was evaluated in a simulated scenario featuring an indirect multi-hop communication setup. The results show that the proposed framework effectively and efficiently secures XR user communications while maintaining QoE, outperforming conventional Q-learning algorithms. © 1983-2012 IEEE.

An image can convey a thousand words. This statement emphasizes the importance of illustrating ideas visually rather than writing them down. Although detailed image representation is typically instructive, there are several contexts where simplification of image representations may be more informative. One way to provide an abstract representation of an object is via clip art, which is a simple graphic illustration of an object that can be included in documents or presentations. Clip art representation can be utilized in graphic design for concepts expression and daily life objects illustration. Furthermore, clip art had shown remarkable advantages when compared to real images in terms of editing and manipulation since clip art geometry can be easily edited in addition to the feasibility of storing it in a resolution-independent manner. However, it can be difficult to automatically create clip arts that resemble any object. Here, we propose a novel deep learning model, named ClipArtGAN, that utilizes Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to convert a photo of an object to its corresponding clip art. To our knowledge, this is the first GAN model based on Pix2Pix architecture that is capable of automatically generating clip art for any arbitrary object. Three training datasets were collected to train and compare two GAN models based on Pix2Pix and CycleGAN architectures. Our results demonstrate that the mean accuracy obtained using ClipArtGAN utilizing Pix2Pix outperforms that of CycleGAN by 58% and that of Google Images-based search by 54%. Intelligent Proximate Analysis of Coal Based on Near-Infrared Spectroscopy and Multioutput Deep Learning

Proximate analysis of coal indicates the moisture, ash, volatile content, and calorific value, which has been widely utilized as the basis for coal characterization. It involves heating the coal under various conditions until a constant weight is obtained. Although it is a relatively simple process that does not require expensive analytical equipment, determining these characteristics is time consuming. An alternative way for proximate analysis is spectral analysis in combination with various machine learning methods. However, most previous works analyze individual characteristics and fail to explore the relationship among them. In this study, we propose a method for proximate analysis based on near-infrared spectroscopy and a multioutput attention Unet (MOA-Unet), which can predict multiple characteristics simultaneously. First, an attention-based Unet is designed as the shared feature extraction subnetwork, including an encoder, a decoder, convolutional block attention modules, and multiscale feature fusion modules, which can improve the representation power of the U-shape network through aggregating features of shallower layers and concatenating features of deeper layers. Second, four individual subnetworks with fully connected layers, designed for four outputs, are utilized for regressing those four characteristics. We employ the gradient normalization algorithm to alleviate the gradient magnitude masking effect caused by training imbalance among different tasks. The proposedMOA-Unet is compared with classical chemometric methods on 670 coal samples from on-site *** experimental results demonstrate that the proposedmodel achieves state-of-the-art performance with correlation coefficients of 0.9015, 0.9538, 0.8986, and 0.8884, corresponding to moisture, ash, volatile content, and calorific value, respectively. The goal of generalized zero-shot learning (GZSL) is to transfer knowledge from seen classes to unseen classes. However, a significant challenge is the single-category attributes are often inadequate to capture the intra-class variability of diverse image samples. During training, the model tends to cluster samples of seen categories based solely on semantic descriptions, overlooking subtle yet important visual differences. To address these challenges, this paper introduces an instance-level attribute updating method, termed as multi-domain feature-enhanced attribute updater (MDAU), which establishes a one-to-one alignment between visual and semantic by obtaining multiple instance-level attributes that closely correspond to the natural intra-class distribution of the image, in contrast to the many-to-one alignment typically used in traditional GZSL approaches. Specifically, we initially compute feature weights for each individual image, and then, the visual information is incorporated as conditions to facilitate the personalized updating of class attributes. We evaluate our model on three benchmark datasets, the results show that our model can achieve the state-of-the-art performance and detailed analysis also illustrates the effectiveness of each proposed module. Multi-food detection using a modified swin-transfomer with recursive feature pyramid network

Humans need food, and the food detection system is a fascinating research topic and a complex weight loss mechanism. Eating healthy and balanced is crucial. Over the last few years, studies on food-related tasks have progressed, but the existing system deals only with single- and multi-food items by using convolution neural networks (CNN), and the recent development of Transformers in computer-vision has outperformed famous networks like ResNet 50, VGG 16, etc., but Transformer-based methods are limited in food-related tasks. For this issue, we improve Swin Transformer-based method by taking the dominance of transformer and CNN, we propose a novel multi-food detection utilizing a modified Swin-Transfomer and Recursive Feature Pyramid Network called (MFD-MST) and Swin-Transformer with spatial extraction block (STSE) as backbone to recognize multi-food item in images to improve local and structural information of image and RFP as neck to enhance This feature representation recognizes multi-food items. STSE solves transformer positional encoding, and RFP can look at feature map twice, helping the model build powerful representations. A prominent dataset, UEC-FOOD 100, Indian Food 28, UEC-FOOD 256 was widely tested to construct a detection system that can distinguish various objects in food photos and classify them into food categories. Our model’s evaluation measures vary. MFD-MST outperforms Swin-Transformer by 2.7% at AP[0.50] and 3.3%, 1.4% on three food datasets respectively.
